Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visits Loughborough University - November 1989

The University was honoured to welcome Her Majesty the Queen on Friday 17 November, 1989. Large crowds welcomed Her Majesty in what was the first royal visit in the University’s history. The Queen, accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor Professor David Davies, saw the work of a number of departments including the use of computers in manufacturing, holograms and computer modelling. Her Majesty also had an opportunity to talk to students who presented her with a large bouquet of roses.
