I'm a year and half into this and have made two grand. So has my wife and her mum also. So if you're on the fence about doing this, just start. The banks will happily rob you blind so take something back. It's your money, go get it.
yes, its not a lot of money but if you have relatives that are not techy you can do it for them too and take a share or anyway its free money for the family/clan
I'll be honest, this is the kind of advice that eventually leads to nice things being taken away. The expression "this is why we can't have nice things" pops to mind. Its when people start abusing a system that the system itself retreats and closes its doors.
Basic bank accounts do not allow more than one current account. It's in the terms. A clause says that if the customer has access to another current account they will close this one, or words to that effect. Clause 12.2 in the Natwest current account terms.
I do LLoyds simply because I can open it in the app. I get the card and code within the week and it doesn't affect my easy savers or my club account. Ot at least hasn't so far.
Dummu account preparation: What shall we do to prepare that dummy account? For example: have some money in there, make some payments, set up direct debits,,,
Hi Andy. Thanks for your content, always really helpful. One question...how long after creating a Chase dummy account (extra current account with sort code and account n.o) should I wait until I take advantage of a switch deal...lets say the new one NatWest has announced.
If you switch from chase with the second account and input the card number - does it affect using the card on your main chase account and the 1% Cashback feature? Thanks
So if I set up a dummy current acct it will need to have 2 or 3 S/O's those will need funding either from my existing current account or directly from another source. That's just one switch seems time consuming there on, to keep track of this tangled web as not willing to ditch existing current account......or am I over thinking this in your opinion...?
I genuinely would like to but I don’t know how or what I’d even need to do, what do I do with the direct debits? I feel like it would be very confusing getting all the details to tell the new bank of all the things you’re paying, how do you transfer the money to the new bank? What about savings accounts? How does that work if you’ve got a current account as well as a savings account with the same bank?
@@markflatters9819 why u starling for an overdraft just use a credit card ZERO INTEREST FOR 30 days! With every bank it’s daily interest 9% is not good or 50% it’s not good. Overdraft is only good for taking money out for a few hours then putting it back in a few hours later.
My guess is maybe Santander or HSBC in March because they haven't done them for a while but seem to quite often. First Direct switching was usually followed by a switch offer the month after it ended by HSBC for 2021 and 2022 and 2023 It could be anyone though, I got caught out by Barclays doing a switch recently and I'd used them for a burner the month before (because they hadn't done a switching deal in years before their recent offer) and thus they wouldn't accept me back again when I'd literally just switched from them the week before. 😢
I'm 30 now been with Halifax since I was 16. Does this mean I can just never close this bank account if I don't want the sudden drop in my credit score? I was just going to use this to switch as Halifax has no decent incentive to stay but might have to go with Chase now for all the current accounts 😂

i made just over £1k but got refused on some offers as they realised I had switched before, amazing that you made £2k

Used to work at metro bank around 7 years ago - they never would run any switching incentive and so far stuck to that.
What bewilders me is that credit reports do not refer to your savings! One could have a moderate c.r. yet have good savings.

Lovely thanks for this 👍

No but if you close chase they won't reopen another account in future.
Hello Andy,
Just curious, is there anything that Starling Offers that Chase does not offer? Just wondering why you chose them over Chase.
What are your thoughts on Revolut account? Can that be used as a dummy account?
🎉Bank Man is Good Man❤
I wasn't sure about the legality of this, and it seems I've been missing out on a lot of free money all along. 😂

CAN I OPEN TWO CURRENT ACCOUNT IN Llyods bank and switch one account from llyods to other bank?
yes
Hi, Andy. Do you know chase uk doesn’t report to credit agencies? Monzo does.
How about opening joint accounts? Can you do a partial switch and not close your individual account?

Direct Debits and available cash gets moved automatically.
Open dumny account. Don't close long standing accounts you already have.
dont yo have to have money in the account in order to switch and/or any direct debit or couple of transactions?
Do you have tips for doing debit card spending without actually spending anything?
monzo is amazing
Slightly prefer starling personally.
Yes Starling is better in most areas, better overdraft rate(s), less restrictive particularly when abroad.

I’m sure Chase don’t let you join back… that’s what they told me.
Can i use revolut account for switch
He said no at the beginning of the video. You cannot switch from Revolute.
Any guesses which bank will be the next to offer up a switch incentive with TSB ending this week?
NatWest/RBS

I thought you had to have 2 direct debits and X amount of money paid in each month 🤔
Depends on the deal. Last year RBS, NatWest and HSBC just needed a switch and then 1500 paid in to the account
I’ve never been this early 💀
i am a not an UK citizen ,a skilled visa holder , what options do i have to get banking benefits without affecting my credit score
Are you guys on Spotify?
Yep, search for Cash Chats podcast
Is it a good idea to only have 1 switch in progress at one time?
I've looked at this twice and still havre no idea how to actually go about doing this in detail. Totally confusing
You're easily confused. Open an account, switch it to another bank for money

Okay don't worry I just watched up to 9:50 where you say you can open more accounts within the same bank as dummy accounts 😆
Def don't close your long standing account.
Open 2nd account with Halifax and use that to switch
