Why would a version of 40mm Bofors without ballistic computer and programmator have HE-VT? I doubt such ammo exists for barebones de facto WWII era Bofors gun.

This thing is basically the reverse of the R3. R3 has insane AA capability at a low tier, but this Leo 1 with 40mm turret has insane anti-tank capability at a low tier.

Wondering the same thing. It's a decent bit slower at 18hp/t but still fast enough, also has continuous fire but the AP belt has 3 AP 1 HE round instead of full AP.
Nah everyone has to kneejerk complain about new thing overpowered. Is this thing good? Yeah. Are there similar vehicles at lower BRs? Yeah... You would get extremely similar results with the Phong Kong as well, at the same BR(the leo is better, for a variety of small reasons, but they are very similar).

You mean the ammo that protects the crew? You get shot and you blow up. It also doesn't have good reverse speed which is important to get in and out of firing positions.
Theres a pretty obvious pattern with spaa vehicles. The zsu 57 2, pantsir, leo 40 70. Maybe gaijin will give us US mains a good spaa vehicle between the m42 and the m163

This thing is broken bc the front plate is too thick to pen but where the crew actually are has next to no armour so shells just pass straight through so it ends up being really hard to kill or disable before it kills or disables you with 40mm spam

I prefer the AMX-10 DCA-40 more than this tbh. Although not as fast (18hp/t vs 23hp/t) it's still faster than most tanks at it's BR and has continuous fire instead of a short reload every 4 rounds and is 0.7 BR lower.

It's not even a contest. The leopard is so fast it outruns turret rotation all over the BR. AMX-13 DCA is much slower than a leopard 1, and the gun handling is way worse due to the insanely bouncy AMX-13 suspension. Oh, and by the way, both of them can be killed by coaxial MGs, except the AMX loses so much speed when turning and accelerates so slowly that turret traverse is usually capable of keeping up with it, unlike this thing.

Here buddy lets compare the m18 gmc to the """"op"""" leopard 40/70. Lets start with the leopard! Leopard 40/70 has no armor to stop anything besides machine gun fire, but just enough to set off every aphe round in game, meaning 0 survivability. On top of this it can be easily overpressured by he, and both gunner and loader can be easily machinegunned, not just by 50 cals since part of them are exposed. Ammo can be set off by 50 cals even from a longer range. Gun has up to 90mm of pen, which drastically decreases from even small ranges and has awful angled pen performance. The round is to small to reliably break gun barrels on larger tanks unless you directly hit the muzzle, meaning that the enemy has to be aiming at you. Which is bad. But it is automatic with a short reload. Its only plus. Oh almost forgot it has almost 0 gun depression since its an aa vehicle. So using hills and slopes is just a bad idea. Its top speed is 66 km forward, 26km reverse with mediocre acceleration. Now the m18! Top speed:81 km forward, 26 km reverse with great acceleration. Already its significantly faster and has the same reverse speed. Has armor thats thick enough to stop 50 cals unless point blank, and a lot of aphe rounds will go through without detonating. It also has a much lower profile than the leopard, making it much harder to spot.(you can also cover it in bushes, making it nearly impossible to spot) its even better at flanking than the 40/,70 since its faster and has a much lower profile. Has apcbc with 149mm of pen, and great angled performance, meaning all tanks except for an angled tiger can be penned frontally and one shot killed (disabled if panther since youll have to aim for the mantlet) if you dont play it like Your supposed to and dont flank for some reason. Its mobile enough to where you can relocate your position to a new spot if noticed. And its reload speed is decent. Winner: m18 gmc.
I finally realized what the ending music on your videos is. I am now playing Halo 3 ODST campaign in coop with a friend, and it's one of the best games i ever played.
This, the breda 501, both italian fireflies, and the p47 make italy 5.0 absurdly strong (especially if you play ratty... so the perfect spookston lineup)
I hate how people defend this SPAA by arguing that the LVKV 43 and the AMX 13 DCA 40 are the same, because this tank is so much better. Yes, it can get killed by a machine gun, like the LVKV that can also get killed by a machine gun, and even though the AMX 13 DCA 40 can’t get killed by a machine gun, the thing still is a powder keg due to its ammo positioning, making it easier to kill without even changing ammo type. And don't even get me started on how they never mention how much better the hull is because even though it is bigger, making it easier to spot, and the armor of it doesn't matter, it is still a lot more mobile than both the AMX 13 DCA 40 and LVKV 43 due to its better acceleration and horsepower, making it better at traversing slopes or ramming other players. And lastly, the point never mentions that the gun is the same, yet the fire rate isn't technically the same due to the ammo belts. The AMX 13 DCA 40, and LVKV 43 have HE shells on their best belts. "Reduce the fire rate" by making some shells, unless most of the time. The LVKV being the best example having half of their shells in the belt with most pen being HE and the other half being AP, reducing its technical "fire rate" by half. And even though the most used belt is the APHE belt, it still only has 3/4 of its shells as the APHE the AMX having the same situation with its best belt. Sorry for the grammatical mistakes. I am not a native speaker.

in one 6.3 game I ran into and killed a btr-zd rushing a cap, a btr-152d rushing my friend, another btr-zd camping an objective, and a leopard 40-70 spawn camping. 6.3 is pain
Ah yes this thing is overpowered whilst we have the AMX-13 DCA which statistically is better since the crew is just sitting out in the open. The DCA has 5km/h slower top speed, has about 2.5 less HP/Ton, but for some reason its not overpowered. Every single person here will complain that the 40/70 is overpowered then when we bring up the BVM its a skill issue. Oh no I have to actually pay attention to my surroundings and hit spacebar at the turret of this thing to get a easy kill must be overpowered. Hell the PUMA at 3.3 is faster has more pen, a 3 second reload, and zero exposed crew but this thing is overpowered.
I just reminded that there is a Chinese copy of this, its the T-34 AA, basically the same thing but with less pen, less turret traverse and worst mobility than this. And guess what.. It is at 5.7 BR :D

I prefer the AMX-10 DCA-40 more than this tbh. Although not as fast (18hp/t vs 23hp/t) it's still faster than most tanks at it's BR and has continuous fire instead of a short reload every 4 rounds and is 0.7 BR lower.

@@no-legjohnny3691 Dude, the AMX-13 DCA 40 compared to this thing is like saying some village kid with a musket is equal to a fully trained soldier outfitted with a modern rifle. It's not even a contest. The leopard is so fast it outruns turret rotation all over the BR. AMX-13 DCA is much slower than a leopard 1, and the gun handling is way worse due to the insanely bouncy AMX-13 suspension.
Oh, and by the way, both of them can be killed by coaxial MGs, except the AMX loses so much speed when turning and accelerates so slowly that turret traverse is usually capable of keeping up with it, unlike this thing.

My boozer in statistics, you do understand the doctrine for using Bofors meant every gun with firing line fired on the target, right? This is why there is so much ammo expended per kill, because this is a fully automatic gun with ammo that comes in clips you simply run through the entirety of on principle, and you don't want a plane or some dinghy fucking your boat up in the middle of nowhere watery abyss.

Not true. The gun on the 2.7 L-62 fires at half the rate of fire and has less penetration (it's an earlier variant).

If you move it up it could potentially become useless like most spaas that are moved up. And most people in this video were absolutely braindead and had no proper map positioning. The m18 gmc is literally better in every way including mobility. Here buddy lets compare the m18 gmc to the """"op"""" leopard 40/70. Lets start with the leopard!
Leopard 40/70 has no armor to stop anything besides machine gun fire, but just enough to set off every aphe round in game, meaning 0 survivability. On top of this it can be easily overpressured by he, and both gunner and loader can be easily machinegunned, not just by 50 cals since part of them are exposed. Ammo can be set off by 50 cals even from a longer range. Gun has up to 90mm of pen, which drastically decreases from even small ranges and has awful angled pen performance. The round is to small to reliably break gun barrels on larger tanks unless you directly hit the muzzle, meaning that the enemy has to be aiming at you. Which is bad. But it is automatic with a short reload. Its only plus. Oh almost forgot it has almost 0 gun depression since its an aa vehicle. So using hills and slopes is just a bad idea.
Its top speed is 66 km forward, 26km reverse with mediocre acceleration.
Now the m18!
Top speed:81 km forward, 26 km reverse with great acceleration. Already its significantly faster and has the same reverse speed. Has armor thats thick enough to stop 50 cals unless point blank, and a lot of aphe rounds will go through without detonating. It also has a much lower profile than the leopard, making it much harder to spot.(you can also cover it in bushes, making it nearly impossible to spot) its even better at flanking than the 40/,70 since its faster and has a much lower profile. Has apcbc with 149mm of pen, and great angled performance, meaning all tanks except for an angled tiger can be penned frontally and one shot killed (disabled if panther since youll have to aim for the mantlet) if you dont play it like
Your supposed to and dont flank for some reason. Its mobile enough to where you can relocate your position to a new spot if noticed. And its reload speed is decent.

I hate how people defend this SPAA by arguing that the LVKV 43 and the AMX 13 DCA 40 are the same, because this tank is so much better. Yes, it can get killed by a machine gun, like the LVKV that can also get killed by a machine gun, and even though the AMX 13 DCA 40 can’t get killed by a machine gun, the thing still is a powder keg due to its ammo positioning, making it easier to kill without even changing ammo type. And don't even get me started on how they never mention how much better the hull is because even though it is bigger, making it easier to spot, and the armor of it doesn't matter, it is still a lot more mobile than both the AMX 13 DCA 40 and LVKV 43 due to its better acceleration and horsepower, making it better at traversing slopes or ramming other players. And lastly, the point never mentions that the gun is the same, yet the fire rate isn't technically the same due to the ammo belts. The AMX 13 DCA 40, and LVKV 43 have HE shells on their best belts. "Reduce the fire rate" by making some shells, unless most of the time. The LVKV being the best example having half of their shells in the belt with most pen being HE and the other half being AP, reducing its technical "fire rate" by half. And even though the most used belt is the APHE belt, it still only has 3/4 of its shells as the APHE the AMX having the same situation with its best belt.

Ah yes this thing is overpowered whilst we have the AMX-13 DCA which statistically is better since the crew is just sitting out in the open. The DCA has 5km/h slower top speed, has about 2.5 less HP/Ton, but for some reason its not overpowered. Every single person here will complain that the 40/70 is overpowered then when we bring up the BVM its a skill issue. Oh no I have to actually pay attention to my surroundings and hit spacebar at the turret of this thing to get a easy kill must be overpowered. Hell the PUMA at 3.3 is faster has more pen, a 3 second reload, and zero exposed crew but this thing is overpowered.

I just reminded that there is a Chinese copy of this, its the T-34 AA, basically the same thing but with less pen, less turret traverse and worst mobility than this. And guess what..
