  • Home install average Joes installation. The rear is just bound up enough it may be worth it to loosen the track bar bolt and link bolts to get a little more freedom. We toughed it out with heft and prybars to get the springs back in place. Be careful with your brake hoses and abs wires. They will be near max.

    Thx for the vid! I put on the 1.5" level spacer using your tips from the other vid. I got these in hand, and will do the same now to gain back some rear height from a 100lb diamondback tonneau. Keep the good vids coming!

      Hopefully it goes smoothly for you. The rear was definitely more stubborn than the front. If you find it too difficult to get the spacers in there you may have to loosen the control arm bolts at the axle and it should move very easily then.

    im scheduled to put this plus the terra 1.5 front next weekend w bilstein 5100s. After seeing the rear, i'm not sure I want to do the .75 anymore. The stock rake is bad but the lifted rake seems off. I may leave the rear as is in my max tow.

    • @PNW_Car_Mods
      @PNW_Car_Mods  Год назад

      If I never towed I would leave the rear stock as well. We tow A LOT with this thing. So on the opposite I don't want it to look stupid with tongue weight on it lol. I think 3/4s is the perfect compromise in that case.

    I watched this before doing mine very helpful. Unfortunately I seem to have that lose shock knock.... even though torqued mine down to 75 for lowers mount and 85 for uppers. I was wondering if it might be the puck in the rear rubbing against the metal axle? Any advice?

    • @PNW_Car_Mods
      @PNW_Car_Mods  3 года назад +1

      If it's knocking it probably a loose bushing whether it be a shock or a control arm. I've had to go in and fix a few friends and family Jeeps that knocked after suspension work. Its possible it could take more than specified torque to get a bushing sleeve torqued down tight.

    • @PNW_Car_Mods
      @PNW_Car_Mods  3 года назад

      A lot of quality off road shocks are mounted right side up or normal haha. Those are factory Rubicon Fox shocks mounted in their normal orientation. Also you'll notice they have factory stone guards for the shock shafts which is kinda cool. Shock boots are far more damaging IMO.

      Matthew I'm not 100% positive. Do your homework on the internet. I feel like its around 75 foot pounds for the shocks and like 50 or 60 foot pounds on the end link nuts. Tighter is better than looser on shock hardware. Nothing worse than shocks that clunk over every bump.

    • @PNW_Car_Mods
      @PNW_Car_Mods  3 года назад +1

      Ours is a Max Tow so I don't know what the differences are in springs among the gladiators. We gained nothing in height by going to the fox shocks which it shouldn't. Tires are about 34" tall. 295 70 17s
