Now I realize that BABYMETAL is not a phenomenon - it's like a Team Japan. The world class singer, the world class musicians, the world class choreographer, dancers, songwriters. They just put the best they had and gave them everything to grow that amazing creature.
Ohmura does a great job following Friedman's lead and keeping up but Ohmura is so much better when he's free to do his own thing. One of the best due to his versatility. He incorporates differing elements as well as any shredder out there. I've even heard him throw in country sounding licks in the middle of a neo classical solo. His constant incorporation of bends, muted notes and pacing keeps his soloing fresh unlike some who just rely on speed all the time.
Would you recommend one of his albums? I’ve only just discovered him through a random RUclips suggestion… well I do watch, Ichicka and Marty videos once I’m a blue moon. 😁
Everyone wins? That’s an Oxymoron. For there To be a winner, there must be a loser. The very definition of the word winner, contradicts your comment. If everyone has the same outcome, then there are no winners, it’s a tie.
@@thereisnopandemic Not true. In the summer of '95 I was a young deputy sheriff. Five of us at my substation had a contest to win an award for recovering stolen cars. The award required recovering twelve stolen vehicles in a three month window. All five of us won the award. We all won. We could have all lost, or had a mix of winners and losers, but we didn't. Actually the reason why Takayoshi can mimick some of martys phrasing and licks is because he is indeed influenced by marty too and he actually said that in his interviews...
yes, ohmura said that marty is very unique and he's influenced by so many 80s heavymetal, neoclassical guitarist like marty, lynch, impellitteri, yngwie, etc. but if listen to ohmura solo work he's like a combination of george lynch and chris impellitteri
1:20, this, this is what separates Marty from the generic shredders out there. That kind of lick would take huge brain power for any regular shredder to even come up with and Marty just pulls it out of his ass
Nailed it. Perfect example of how Marty is so unique. ZERO players would stop OR start where Marty did there, it's incomplete and creates such suspense, though it IS complete, in context. Marty's phrasing is second to nobody else on earth. Marty plays with more silky, sassy, sexy flavor than anyone.
@@s1iznc1d34 Ohmura's idol's is Marty, i go to his guitar clinics in Nagoya ,back in 2016 , i have the opportunity to ask him , where did he get his style of bends from, his answer was " marty - san, he is my good friend, idol ,and also my sensei (showing respect n just humble) , many japanese here say im better than all guitarist, i say not really but if not for all the guitarist exist, i wouldnt be playing here today" i speak japanese but sorry for my english translate

Marty makes up his own "scales", whatever note sequences sound good to him...that's what he rolls with. He described this idea in his second instructional video " Melodic Control", check it out. Marty is all about developing his own style, he tells paths that you can take to do that. I would describe what Marty did here as Phrygean and Diminished scales, with notes added or subtracted as he was feeling at the time.
Well if I'm gonna listen to a lot of giggling back-and-forth I just listen to malmsteen because it all sounds the same anyway ,I mean Marty's a good guitar player there's no question about it so Satriani so is by Aldi Meola but none of them are really doing anything that really is going to come out and grab you right away yeah they can shred but yeah

@@jonasw3945 they didn't have anything bigger than that and they liked it a lot, so don't underestimate it

"A missionary street fighter, sex machine, Takayoshi Ohmura!"
Yeaaaah!!! Awesome duel. Thank you very much for comment. Regards.
Thank YOU for posting! Greetings from Sweden!
Greetings. Thank You.
Wow, one of the best guitar duels I ever heard. The way they played back at each other really matched an sounded really good.
True. It's always a joy to see great musicians just going with the flow, like this!
probably because their personalities matched along with their skill.
Man, I love a duel where everyone wins!

That kicked ass. With all the crap going on in the world , this shows that shredding makes the world a better place.

Holy hell, Friedman is an inspiration for many. 🇧🇷
The fact that Marty can play with ease regarding Japanese shredders speaks VOLUMES.
1:32 from there it's pure shred brilliance, note choice and legato wise
I finally found a video that made me smile the entire time, hells yea
Reminds me of some Becker and Friedman. Awesome.
this is the best battle i've ever seen
1:16 i like marty reaction when ohmura mimicking marty lick and phrase 😀

Amazing shred work on both their parts.
Actually loved some of their note choices! Ohmuras picking... Friedman's vibrato
And Ohmura's picking has become even better, since . His circular picking technique is crazy!
This was great. Thanks for posting.
Before Babymetal, there was a guy Marty Friedman HAD to have in his band........Ladies and Gentlemen, Takayoshi Ohmura!
1:48 that runup is so sick
Awesome, thank you for sharing this!!!
Thanks to you for watching and comment. Kind regards.
Monsters, both of them!
And this was seven years ago.... Takayoshi has grown enormously since then!
What an amazing guitarist 🔥🔥🔥
This is not duel or Vs - Versus; this is when student - Ohmura, play with his inspiration/professor Friedman.
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk sendo que essa é a história que o aluno superou o professor rsrsrs

BABYMETAL takayoshi omura
It was a contest?
Their playing is so clean! Just wow. Marty is nuts but Ohmura is not of this Earth.....
Great! But Takayoshi is much more effortless and natural.
damn thats fuckin crazy improv from ohmura
Does anyone know what scale is that?
Pentatonic, diminished 3rd and 7th, and there's a mode in there but I'm not good enough anymore at identifying them.

Friedman never ages

Thank you marty for supporting japanese guitar players. The mighty Steve vai would not last a second against these robots.
