This video is the first time I want to learn jazz. Those are such beautiful and exciting chords. I wish to learn chord progressions and phrases like this.
He can play! I enjoyed this. You are a talented guitarist. I also play Jazz on my Gibson SG and my Fender Telecaster and Stratocasters as well as many semi-hollow and hollow-body guitars. I kind of like my Telecaster best for Jazz and it's also very good for everything I play. I want to form a Jazz Trio or Quartet so much, oh so much! -Peter
I am glad that I found this nice video. Very good playing as well as sound! I started out on an SG100 when I was learning electric guitar, early 70's. That includes when I started learning about jazz. That guitar eventually was traded away and I never had an SG again until recently. Now I have an SG Special from the 90's. It is a great instrument, and equally as viable IMO for jazz playing as any other solidbody. Very comfortable instrument to play. I don't really know why more jazz players don't use SGs.
I was expecting Angus Young to bust into this video at any moment and snatch that guitar from you, but it never happens...LOL! Great tone, awesome playing. Dispels stereotypes. Thanks for posting.
When I saw the great Pat Metheny, many years ago, he was on his 175 and had such a blurred and indistinct sound, it was hard to make out any individual notes in his solos. It was great on record, but didn’t work in a live setting. Maybe his Ibanez is clearer. I don’t know. To my mind, he’d have better off using an SG. What a clear and brilliant jazz sound they can get! Mind you, this guy is a magnificent player.
I always thought SGs were cool. This confirms it.
Thanks!
Amazing was this with the neck pickup and tone rolled off please?
The point is not "Can a brand or model play jazz?". The point is "Can a guitarist play jazz?". And I think you are the proof, sir.
Yes, sure, you are right! Thank you very much!
Love jazz on an SG. It's not only for AC/DC.
Yes, this is true!
And you're great.
Many thanks!
For those about to swing, we salute you
Thank you!
beside that i never thought an SG sounds like that, i am totally amazed by your fine play. A wonderful impro overall, thank you for showing.
+M Hu Thanks a lot!

I agree. He’s world class!
I haven't seen many videos of jazz being played on an SG. Your playing is very tasteful and elegant.
Thank you very much! I have a lot of guitars, but now SG is my favorite!

Did you have a chance to finish off transcription? Is it available for download/purchase anywhere?
