Good morning Clive , hope all is happy and well with you ? . Another great and informative review mate of some great kit . As mentioned in previous reply comments , I only have the standard helikon-tex bivy bag and I am very happy with that , no issues with it since I bought it a year or so ago . The special forces bivy bag is massive , I could fit two of me in it , plenty of room to wriggle around inside and I am a bit of a wriggler until I find my happy comfortable place and go to sleep 🤣 . On another note , finally purchased my Geopress and nesting cup set and should receive it early next week , can,t wait , 😁 . I was chatting with Al earlier in the week when I ordered my Grayl and he mentioned to me when you last came to visit the shop and I thought that you two should go on an adventure together since you live close by and visit the shop regularly and Al often goes out bush to test new kit , I,m sure you both would have a good old time . Anyway Clive , take care mate and have a good weekend and I will look forward to your next adventure / review , regards and best wishes , Ken 👍 🙂 . PS: Your prep room is looking great too , your prep table is bigger than I thought , plenty of room to lay all your kit on , 👍 🙂 .
Good afternoon, Ken. Thank you. I have been tempted to buy a second one to keep in my day pack full time. It's like Christmas waiting for gear to arrive 🙂 I think it would be fun to go out for the weekend with Al. Play with some kit and test it out. Prep table is big enough for my kit and me 😂🤣😂 Take care All the best. Clive. 🤠
nice run down! Do you take this with as an emergency shelter on day hikes? Does it retain much heat without a sleeping bag in it. Wonder what temps you could get down to with this and just a liner or something in Summer.
Thank you, Dave. On all the longer day hike's I do, and the more difficult shorter day hike's. On its own you can feel the wind hitting it and cooling the material down, at the same time you can feel the heat it is holding in and keeping you warmer than without. You can feel the difference when using it with a sleeping bag or top quilt, I have to adjust the zip to regulate the heat. All the best. Clive. 🤠
Excellent review from a user of 3 years! Says it all really. Many thanks for sharing, will be a purchase 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Thank you 😀
