It was a joy to listen to Gerry be so open, honest and vulnerable about his experiences and struggles.

I went through a period of insomnia in my twenties that lasted 6 months. This was many years ago. I mentioned it to a psychiatrist taking my medical history and she said that is one of the most common insomnia stories. She said it's idiopathic (meaning no known cause) and 6 months is a common period of time for it to occur.

Insomnia is very mysterious and not caused by anxiety like these coaches say it is. Many times hormones go out of wack then regulate on their own. These sleep coaches are deluded.

I’m going through the same thing. Been a struggling with sleep but don’t have any fear or any thoughts involving sleep or trying to control it but just can’t sleep. Then some weeks I’m able to sleep no problem. These tips from these channels did not help at all and the cause from they say causes insomnia doesn’t apply to me at all because I don’t have any anxiety nor do I try to control sleep. I also go to bed at the same time and don’t drink any caffeine in general. It’s weird how some people just struggle to sleep out of no where then sleep again.

@@LilianaSimental-u7e yup. thats what i do. when i had insomnia at 1st i panic and was scared i would die. then afther 3 months i just stop worrying and went on with my day. and the next 3 months it just went away. my imsomnia is not completely gone tho. it comes back sometimes were i can.t sleep at all but it only last 2 to 3 days then it gos away agian for 2 weeks or sometimes a month. i just go bed when im tired. my adravge is 5 to 8 hours a night. i rarly get 7 or 8. mostly 5 to 6 hours for me every day.
