This was so incredibly relaxing. Margaret should do some ASMR, she has the perfect voice for it! Brilliant video as always!
Thank you so much! You all are strongly making me consider some ASMR as a side gig..!
Always a pleasure to listen to Ms Margaret's narration and learning so much about the history of London. She has a knack of explaining history divinely interesting!!
i would really love to meet Ms Margaret and Sinead in person one day💓
Thank you for sharing this video Margaret and Free travel by foot👣
This was so lovely to read, Romina, thank you. I hope to meet you in person one day, too!
We hope we get to see you one day, Romina!
I'm so pleased we're getting Margaret's insights through the medium of ASMR, I've fallen asleep to the Hampton Court tour several times.
Aw, this made my day - thank you!
Pudding Lane - the name alone evokes thoughts of warmth and family and home. That such a catastrophe could have begun here is almost too much to bear. Margaret, I've joked with you in some of your previous tours about "medieval fire extinguishers" but this is much too sad for my glib humour. As always you've brought the past to life with clarity and heart. As we in Canada are going through a terrible period of the worst forest fires in our history it gives us pause to understand the fear and confusion that such conflagration can bring to the past and the present. In Vancouver we can smell the smoke and the skies are clouded changing the sun from yellow to orange. And we are in a safe area. The miracle is how London was able to recover and thrive. The shock was the aid from France, a traditional nemesis in the middle ages. I've always thought someone could write an historical comedy about Calais ("what day is it? Are we British or French today"). And to end your research with all the plaques and memorials was brilliant. Thank you for this most wonderful of tours. I suddenly feel like pudding pie. 😊🎉❤
I have seen the devastation of the fires in Canada on the news. It's absolutely awful. :( I am glad you are keeping safe, despite what sounds like apocalyptic conditions. Seems like France likes to keep us on our toes, right? And I am definitely snatching your idea for the Calais comedy (with due credit given, of course, whenever it becomes an international success)..! Enjoy the pudding pie!
lady who have such a beautiful voice
you could read me bed time stories!😁
Maybe an idea for a new channel? Bedtime Stories with Margaret - hah ;)
The best account of this event I've ever seen ! . ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Oh thank you so much, Dennis! :)
This show ranks with any BBC or American History show I have seen on the fire. Outstanding job!
Glad you liked this one, Chuck!
What a compliment, Chuck, thank you so much! You've made my day already :)
This is so much better than modern TV documentaries which are over dramatised. The script and editing is very well done. Keep it up Free Tours.
Thanks for your continued support, Robbo!
Love these videos! The great fire of London has always fascinated me. Nice to actually see the places too. Margaret is so good at her job.

Great video as always. Thanks for sharing it. 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
You are most welcome, Sharon!
Excellent video. Beautifully narrated and very informative. I believe Pudding Lane is named not for tasty desserts but for animal entrails and similar nasty bits. Different meaning of the word in those days.
Thanks, Val. And you are absolutely right!
Fabulous as usual I do look forward to these videos as their educational and interesting bits of history Thanks you so much Have a lovely day 😄
It's my pleasure, Liz, thanks for the support!

Good work
Glad you're enjoying all our videos, Richard!
Hi and good day, there are papers that show that the city of London Ltd used the fire to replan London and kill off the Black death. This was told to me by a London police officer. But it is a great video, thanks for your time and hard work, please stay safe and happy.
Oh, I like that extra tidbit. How interesting, thank you for sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Thanks!
You are so kind, thank you!

You're welcome :)
The fire got rid of much of the Plauge.
Indeed!
Thanks.
Margaret 😍😍

@@margaretstockton-davies3828 You are awesome 😍😍
I’d love this to be a tour with Sinead and Canice. Margaret seems a lovely lady, but this sounds more like something you’d hear on a children’s audio story.
You're not wrong, Kazza. It's a very different style :)
@@margaretstockton-davies3828 It’s not a criticism as a lot of people enjoy the more mellow narration, it’s just my personal preference. All equally as good in their respective different styles. I just love the humour and banter from Sinead and Canice.
What happened to the buried wine and cheese?
We think he recovered them! His house was spared from the fire in the end, and modern excavations have never uncovered the cheese or the wine :)
So where were these 1,000 watchmen the night of the fire??!
The pub ;)
Thanks WOW THAT'S AWESOME AMAZING TERRIFIC TEMPTING HOT BEWITCHING INTOXICATING INDULGENCE PERFECT TEN BEAUTY margret
So glad you liked it, Suj!
