I was considering trying thin dowels with beads cut to match the few “real” bobbins I have. Delighted to see that the idea might actually work! I have a date with my dremel tool and not paying $15 a dozen (the project I took on is 80 bobbins, that’s a lot of cash for a beginner!) 🤣
I think that is a great idea! When you are doing cloth stitch, it will show you that your pairs are staying together. Alternately, how far apart your pairs go during half stitch.
Thank you so much! im going to make the bobbins now with the beads! are you willing to message me in private to help with some of my questions? I understand if not!!

Yes! That should work wonderfully! The cost of so many is a steep ask for a beginner maker. I am glad you could find something that works.
Thank you for these original bobbins. I wonder how to best stick the cloth for the cushion....
You can also use the dolly clothes pins
❤
When making beaded bobbins would it be a good idea to make 2 of the same color and use as a pair, or does it really matter?

When you're using the clothespins, do you just open them to get a bit more thread as needed?
I have not done that. If you also weave the thread inside the open cloths pin it should work. Otherwise, the thread would just be loose. Good luck!!!!
