Imagine refurbishing a bus and only after a few years it gets scrapped, thats such a waste
Hey, SG1041M is spotted! (The Citaro bus with a white front)
Its a bittersweet moment that the B9TL CDGEs are retired. I rmb the buses passing by my neighbourhood. I love the large interiors of the bus. But the buses were significantly noiser than other buses here. Esp late at night when these buses pass by they can wake up the whole neighbourhood so I'm happy with the change
It's so sad for the B9TL CDGEs and the SCANIA K230UB E4/5s, they were the best bus ever, but however, they are retiring them. Because they are getting old.
But I like 1 thing, SBS7376X is a preserved SBS Transit CDGE, preserved in a ITE. Instead of scrapping it, they left it there.
I rode the volvo b9tl bus on bus 134 but on 26 of November 2022 it was the last time I rode the b9tl buses and I never got to ride in one of them again 😢
I saw on 72 on the Volvo cage in 2023
The Siemens C651 is more rare to find than volvo b9tl cdge as there are only 8 SIE C651 left
C6t1 and C751B is way more rare now. C651 is off to 4 and C751B is off to 5.

At the bad news,LTA might have a good point about the reason why the diesel buses are gonna retire, our planet is getting sick, and one of the reasons was because of it, sometimes when a Vehicle becomes 20 years old or older, the engine will make a lot of terrible smokes, and those smokes can ruin the environment

From what I know, the LTA has signed a contract of the procurement of 400 new electric buses that will arrive between 2023 and 2024. Tenders have been made by several bus production companies for the production of the 400 new electric buses namely VOLVO, MAN, SCANIA, MERCEDES BENZ etc. These 400 new electric buses are said to be single deck buses which will replace 400 old diesel engine buses. Hope to see the 400 new electric buses roaming on Singapore roads soon.

So, does that mean that in 2040 even the MAN A22 Euro 5 and Euro 6 buses will be scraped to?! They are my favourite buses in Singapore.
Theres one MAN A22 E5 that was converted to electric, so maybe more Man a22 will be converted
The other good news is that B9TL WEG2 is gonna scrap at the 2030s, even tho very sad to not ride diesel buses.
Its sad seeing KUBs are going to be retired the scania K230UB was the most popular bus in singapore that is more everywhere than other buses sometimes in SG vacation in 2nd time i ride so many scanias K230UB and i only ride man A22 and BT10TL once and i havent see CDGE in my life becaue i havent see them in any road and i havent ride mercedes citaro in my life same as dennis enviro 500 sometimes in indonesia we have K230UB with diffrent body by laksana (non BRT)
The Scania K230UB buses are too noisy especially when the bus captains press hard on the accelerators to push the engines to full power. Now Mercedes Benz buses are seen replacing the Scania K230UB buses on SBS Transit bus service 160 which plies between Jurong East and Lakin bus terminal & bus service 170 which plies between Queen Street Bus Terminal and Larkin Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru respectively because the Scania buses are too noisy. I think the 400 new electric buses will replace the Scania K230UB and Volvo B9TL CDGE buses when they arrive and are being put into service between the end of 2023 and the 1st Quarter of 2024.

There are 20 Linkker 3-door electric buses which have been put into service at SBS Transit- managed Bedok Bus Interchange and SMRT-managed Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange. The 4 bus services are - Bus services 38 and 40 at Bedok Bus Interchange,
Bus services 176 and 976 at Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange. These 20 buses will serve the 4 abovementioned bus services until further notice.
