Thanks so much for this video, after spending 1K on this in the past, this took for 45 minutes, so easy, 75.00 for tools and 200.00 for ignition coils and spark plugs,..saved me 750.00 (2007 bmw 328xi )
Thanks Justin! I just grabbed a set of coils and plugs from FCPEuro and had them installed to remedy some random misfiring and this machine seems like its back to what it should be!
Thanks for the quick, clear video. I just picked up an e90 328 and the process seems to be slightly different when it comes to removing all the extra components just to get to the coils and plugs.
Thanks for this video! I was getting misfiring at idle and under acceleration, turns out on plug never got replaced last time by the stealership and it was totally shot! Swapped my plugs and coils today super quickly and easily thanks to you!
Great video! Thanks for the step-by-step instructions. I’ll be changing my spark plugs and coils soon. This was very helpful. And thanks for getting right into the process without wasting time. Other RUclipsrs can learn from your approach to making DIY vids.
Hi Justin, my 328xi has 110k on it, the engine started shaking a little this morning. I stopped by at the mechanic. They suggested to replace the ignition coils and spark plugs with no error codes detected. I will try to DYI and would you mind link me the tools you use? TIA
Did all mine plugs and coils today. Also went ahead and replaced the valvetronic eccentric shaft actuator gasket while I was in there. Thanks for the easy reference video. Needed torque specs. Thanks buddy.
Thanks very much Justin. A friend had recommended the use of dielectric grease on the spark plug ceramic and the ignition coil boot to reduce moisture/water penetration and for the ignition coil to separate more easily from the spark plug since the heat could fuse them together.
Great information. I'm having a problem with coil #3 and #4. They are shorter than the rest. I found a spring that goes between the coil and top of the sparkplug. How do I put that spring back in and feel confident it's touching the top of the sparkplug and seated inside the coil?
Thank you for this DIY video. Shop wanted $1300 for plugs and coils; seem a tad...much. Followed your video, about 3 hours and $250 for Bosch parts. Good deal! have problem starting after completion: discovered that wire harness(es) had to be pushed into coils until they were flush with coil; attaching them enough for clip on top of coil to fold down didn't provide adequte connection. Cheers!
I was looking for this as I am gonna need to change 2 of my ignition coils today, the process seems to be pretty straight forward :) Thanks for the awesome video!
I really enjoyed this video. I had a 2006 325i that I changed the spark plugs on. This is part of the BMW experience. The DYI, because the dealership is way too expensive 👍🏾
Hey i am looking for information about BMW 320i 2006/2007 (110kw/150hp) .Is it expensive to own? i mean ,maintanance ,common failures and stuff like that. Also, does he really drink that much petrol and should i consider installing LPG? (Mostly i drive in the city) Thanks!
Awesome video thanks for your help, quick question, I’ve got an 07 335 and every time I pump gas it gives me a little trouble starting on...what could it be?
What do you know about the new BMW manufacturing specification changes the plug support sprue is now centered below the plug and may interfere with some original harness connections which may have off-center cutout. In those cases, the plug sprue on the coil must be CAREFULLY cut back to allow proper harness connection. How would you cut the spree back?
Good morning guys. I just had a quick question. I have a 2011 BMW 328 xDrive with about a hundred forty Thousand Miles. I recently bought it at a hundred and thirty-five Thousand Miles. Currently I am going to change the spark plugs from NGK to Denso iridium. I would love to hear your thoughts. And also, do you suggest that I change the coil packs as well? It might make sense because the car is it to owner, and I don't really know too much about the history of the car! Any suggestions as far as preventative maintenance because I am a daily Lyft and Uber driver. Can also someone tell me the list of tools that you need to do the job? I didn't see a list on the description.
Thanks for this video Justin. I have the same year / model as you. Have you replaced any of the O2 sensors on your car? If not, would you mind making a video on how to do that?
I have a few fluids that need to be replaced. I may just take it to an independent mechanic and have them all changed at once. Fluids can be a hassle with recycling and everything
I have a question when u put the ignition coild back in place do they lock in place or they can still be pulled up because mine can still be pulled up even when i connect them
Hey Justin how hard is it to replace the whole entire valve cover ? I need to replace it because my Crankcase ventilator valve went bad and its causing burned oil like smell to go inside car and an terrible whinning noise . The PCV is intergrated on the actual valve cover thats why I have to replace the entire thing ! Thanks for your vids bro there very helpfull
0:47 , what is that part called ??? The other side of the engine compartment has one as well and mine is loose on both ends. What is this ? Please help anyone !!!!!
Hello Justin . Great video ! Can this be a cause I been getting multiple random misfires , rough idle , shaking when I turn car , when I drive on freeway it runs normal when I slow down it stalls with the idle . I already change and clean camshaft sensor and vanos but still the same .
Any updates on how the car is running? Also looking for advise on transmission oil change....dealer says to replace for my first born, local mechanic says they'll change transmission oil for a punch to the nards.
Thanks for the help! All done ...no more rough idle and the 330i seems to be running great! But plugged in the OBD and its still showing misfire on 3 and check engine light ?! Does something in the vehicle need to be manually reset?! I appreciate any feedback !
Do you have a part number for these coils? You have the ones with the little plastic tab of to the side and I thick I do too and I can’t find the correct ones
I have a 2006 BMW 330xi with the magnesium cover and I ordered those Bosch Ignition coils and Double platinum spark plugs but my ignition coils wont click in with the electrical harness I'm frustrated, I read some forums and people say it may be be because the ignition coil has a Male connector or and not a female connector that's causing the coil to spit out the connector. Idk I dont want the hassle of returning them because I dont know which ones to get anymore
Mate, thanks for the videoI'm still having problems with my BMW e90, windows control. All windows works from driver side control, but except driver side, other sides not working properly, they won't open windows, there only can close(up) , do you know how can I solve this problem!???
hey just had a quick question, is it super important to torque the spark plugs? i’ve seen most mechanics just tighten it and it’s been fine plus i don’t know how that would fit for the last spark plugs
If you over-tighten them, there's a possibility they will break the next time you replace them. If the threaded part gets stuck in the engine, it's a pain in the ass to remove
I'm paranoid that I could strip a thread on my engine head. I have the N52k in my BMW x5. I'd love to replace my spark plugs. Is it really as easy as using a torque wrench set for 18 pounds per square inch?
Brian Olivo bro if you over tighten it , it will fall in The block of the engine and the three to $4000 job pulling up to purple out of the engine just invest in a $20 harbor freight tire wrench bro
Always use a torque wrench, especially for the spark plugs because they are in a tight, hard to reach spot. If you over torque them or damage the threads, they would be a nightmare to remove.
I remember doing this on my old 91 Nissan Silvia (200sx) 2lt 4 banger, it only had one cover you had to remove to access the coil packs/plugs, as they were in the top center of the engine!
Hi! I got a E92 bmw 2007 , 2.5i 92.000 miles on the clock..The problemI got is the engine just cut of at lower speed. I changed the VANOS solenoids the oil filter and the oil, but nothing happend, engine cuts of at lawer speeds. Can you give me some advices please! , I see you know all about this tipe of engines. Thanks allot!!!
Thank you so much for this video I am a 58 years lady I changed the spark plugs and coil packs on my 328 I
Stephanie Adkins that’s awesome 😎
You just saved about $2000 in labor.

By far, THE CLEAREST VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS yet on how to do this!!!!....and I've watched alot of them!
Thanks Justin! I just grabbed a set of coils and plugs from FCPEuro and had them installed to remedy some random misfiring and this machine seems like its back to what it should be!
hey justiiiin, if capable, could you film a similar video like this replacing the cam shaft sensor?
Thanks for making this video. Changed my plugs and coils today following your step by step process! Car is running so much better now!
Wow I love the design of the ignition coils! It's so handy you can insert a wrench to turn and loosen it!
Thanks for the quick, clear video. I just picked up an e90 328 and the process seems to be slightly different when it comes to removing all the extra components just to get to the coils and plugs.
Usually background music in videos are distracting, but this one made it more enjoyable to watch.
Thanks for this video! I was getting misfiring at idle and under acceleration, turns out on plug never got replaced last time by the stealership and it was totally shot! Swapped my plugs and coils today super quickly and easily thanks to you!

Glad I could help!
And how was your battery? Did it drain too? 🤔
I love how you did this video... simple and straightforward I’m changing mine today
Just wanna say thanks bro, your video was perfect and I was able to do it myself with no problems
Hi Justin, my 328xi has 110k on it, the engine started shaking a little this morning. I stopped by at the mechanic. They suggested to replace the ignition coils and spark plugs with no error codes detected. I will try to DYI and would you mind link me the tools you use? TIA
Great video and filming. Thanks for including torque specs too. Seems like most content makers leave that out
Thanks! Glad I could help!
You are a live saver with your trick to removing the coils.
Did all mine plugs and coils today. Also went ahead and replaced the valvetronic eccentric shaft actuator gasket while I was in there. Thanks for the easy reference video. Needed torque specs. Thanks buddy.

THX for the great video. Did the coils and plugs on my wife's 2009 328i w/ bosch parts and cut $800 off our usual mechanics bid.
Thank You for this. My daughter and I just changed her spark plugs. This was 100% spot on.
Great information. I'm having a problem with coil #3 and #4. They are shorter than the rest. I found a spring that goes between the coil and top of the sparkplug. How do I put that spring back in and feel confident it's touching the top of the sparkplug and seated inside the coil?

Thanks for the video. Is there any programming or reset needed after this? Thinking about doing it myself for my 328i 2011.
Your video gave me the confidence to change my plugs and coils on my e92. Top man, thank you.
What spark plugs did you use? I can't seem to find info about which ones to use anywhere
Thanks for this! I was wondering if i need to remove the strut bracing, couldn’t find anything for this car until this video
Justin your videos on your car are truly amazing they help me out tremendously keep doing what your doing thank you so much

Justin Buice which fluids all at once?
I would recommend to add the link for all the tools you use as well (amazon)
did he ever let you know the tools he used?

I believe that’s the auc sensor. If I recall, it measures the air quality and tells the hvac to toggle the air recirculation on and off
Fantastic video. Many thanks. Replaced e90 328xi with NGK Iridium plugs and coils. All good.

Hey Justin thanks for the video... wondering how the Bosch brand lasted??
Hey thanks man just a question
2007 bmw 325i m sport 28k
Is this car worth buying since I never had BMW in past.
Is a spark plug and could pack the same thing or 2 different things??
Justin, could you please provide a list of tools used
From an FCP Euro employee, thanks man! 🤌
How about changing 3rd, 4th and 5th cylinder coils and spark plugs? You need to disassemble more parts
Any updates on how the car is running?
Also looking for advise on transmission oil change....dealer says to replace for my first born, local mechanic says they'll change transmission oil for a punch to the nards.
Hi great video, do you recommend dielectric grease around the top ceramic part of the spark plug before re installing the new coil pack.?
He explained everything clearly ...I'm subscribing
Hey man just a question is it important to use oem spark or bosch. I tried denso spark plugs and i had issue ( hesitation) during acceleration
I just ordered Eldor coils .. great video! My 2011 335 has 35kbmiles and I’m starting to feel hesitation off the line sometimes
Thanks for the help! All done ...no more rough idle and the 330i seems to be running great! But plugged in the OBD and its still showing misfire on 3 and check engine light ?! Does something in the vehicle need to be manually reset?! I appreciate any feedback !
Did you ever figure this out? I’m in the same boat but I am still waiting on a couple ignition coils to ship along with 2 spark plugs.
Runs great since ...was able to clear the codes with a obd for bmw's .Make sure you have a torque wrench for the spark plugs@@cloudiershark4684
Man you make that look SO EASY man...wish me luck
Hey J, if a ignition coil goes bad; what type of code is displayed? Thxs.
Do you have a part number for these coils? You have the ones with the little plastic tab of to the side and I thick I do too and I can’t find the correct ones
Thanks Justin for showing me how to change the spark plugs for my BMW 💯💯 #Team3Series
Thanks for the video, what is the name for the last big cover taken off? Need to replace that, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽.
I have an 06 330i, what is the correct spark plug to buy. Research has pointed me to different brands. Such a as NGK-5987. Thanks in advance

Hi Justin, will this be applicable for a 2006 bmw 323i? Please let me know
Nicely done! Almost identical on 2010 328xi e90
Great video. Straight forward and to the point. Thanks!
Do you know if any electric component will lose power completely when changing spark plugs and coils?
Justin you're the man can't wait till you hit 100k subs, I live in Michigan too, And soon I may own a BMW too :)
Is there a special kind of 16mm socket to change the plugs? i have tried various sizes and they dont work
Are those bosch coils good? I want to buy oem because i dont want to lower performance or anything :(
Have you done any videos with replacing a Mass Air Flow Sensor?
/ which ignition coils are better bosch or delphi? Also which is the yultimate best?
hey just had a quick question, is it super important to torque the spark plugs? i’ve seen most mechanics just tighten it and it’s been fine plus i don’t know how that would fit for the last spark plugs

nice, thorough vid Buice. keep it up man. been watching since 7000 subs. cool music too. just ordered coilpacks myself today. all about the DIYs.
Thanks I appreciate it! The install was pretty straight forward. Would have probably taken about an hour if I wasn't filming.
What tools were used here? Looks like maybe a cats paw/pry bar?
Hi justin question, have you experience a limp mode on you BMW ??
Thanks for a straightforward and concise video. Made the job very easy
I'm paranoid that I could strip a thread on my engine head. I have the N52k in my BMW x5. I'd love to replace my spark plugs. Is it really as easy as using a torque wrench set for 18 pounds per square inch?
I have 325i / 2006 and I want to know where can I order the ignition coils and the spark plugs please???
If the coils have no scan code errors is it ok to leave them in ?
2010 328xi
Do shocks next 💯
Once again just seeing your video makes my day.
+Thomas Hagelberg awesome! Glad you like them!
Justin, do I really need the torque wrench for the spark plugs? I’m kinda in a budget.
Brian Olivo bro if you over tighten it , it will fall in The block of the engine and the three to $4000 job pulling up to purple out of the engine just invest in a $20 harbor freight tire wrench bro
AJ Madera it’s only around $20?? I didn’t know. I’ll definitely get one.
Always use a torque wrench, especially for the spark plugs because they are in a tight, hard to reach spot. If you over torque them or damage the threads, they would be a nightmare to remove.
Justin, can you also list out all the tools specs used this video.
what coils exactly did you use ? fcp has a bunch on their site
Found the videos I’ve been looking for!! Thanks! I love your how to videos. Makes things easy
I remember doing this on my old 91 Nissan Silvia (200sx) 2lt 4 banger, it only had one cover you had to remove to access the coil packs/plugs, as they were in the top center of the engine!
Hi Justin. Whats that cable for at 0:47 thieves tried to steal my car once and they cutted that cable
+Can Mert I have to double check but I think it's a sensor for the cabin air filter
Justin Buice nothing serious then. thank you for answer
How about firing order? I remember you have to pay attention to that when doing anything with plugs
I have a 2008 328i e90. Which spark plugs do you recommend.
can you tell me what is that sensor called on 0:46
Should I leave battery connected for this job?
+Port Henderson Car Rentals LLC you can leave it connected
You did a great job presenting this video
Should I cop a 2004 BMW 3 series 325Ci convertible for my first car or something else?? Anything you recommend for a first car?
Baltazar Marquez get it! Or get a 3 series e90
I'd try to get an E90 if your budget allows. Nothing wrong with the e46, but as they get older, it's harder to find them with low miles.
So the spark plug socket you used is a standard one, not a thin walled ? Good job by the way
I dont remember what I used in the video, but get a thin wall if you can!
I’m new to bmw what does spark plugs and the other stuff do to it? Sorry for being a noob but I will get better haha
What torque wrench did you use ?
Thanks for all your videos it’s really helpful 👍
