OK, so for anyone coming to this late, here is the honest truth from someone who uses the smaller Juliet and who has plenty of cutter experience. I have used the Juliet for over 6 months now and love it. Leonardo design software for the Siser cutters now has two versions, the basic which is free and the Pro which is $8.99 a month (free trial till end August 2023), or the option to use off brand software, SCAL6 which is purchased for under $50, or the dearer Pro version of that. Only commercial users are likely to need the Pro version though for multiple machines etc. The cutters are great, you can cut what you want. The rule of thumb is if you can cut it with scissors then you are good to go. Matless cutting on all vinyl, no matter the brand. Cut card, flexible plastics, paper, faux leather, make stickers, the sky is the limit. There is also a stand coming out soon for those who need that.

I finally came across a video that showed some really big mistakes and how to correct them when using the Siser cutting machines and the first things that has to be done is the blade has to be measured to credit card depth and the second are the pinch rollers have to be closed and then if the type of material that you are cutting is not already programmed and you're cutting machine then you have to play with the force and speed for whatever material you are cutting until you get it to your liking and then you can set that force and speed into your program settings for that specific material.
It is very hard to find really good videos on the Siser cutting machines HOWEVER, Courtney Brickner has a RUclips channel by the name of The Crafty Brick which she shows some huge mistakes and how to correct them with the Siser cutting machine.
    * Angel B. Designs also has great content on her Channel about the Siser cutting machine.*
Hopefully you find this helpful, have a good day.

Thanks for the video. I have been researching the crap out of craft cutters. I currently have a Cricut Explore Air 2. That cuts vinyl perfectly fine, but I also have some clients that order semi-large kiss cut sticker sheets. After reviewing all of the available options, I am likely going with the Romeo. The cricut needs constant maintenance and adjustment to cut properly. The Cameo needs constant maintenance, adjustment and all kinds of additional lighting to help it cut accurately. So far the reviews on the print-to-cut accuracy with Siser are great. It is a higher price point but worth it for me to fix the issues I am having.

It has a built in light and the camera function to read the registration marks help a lot in the accuracy of this machine.

I love your video because you're so real. I will watch more about this Siser Romeo machine. Elly Mae of Silhouette Secrets has also made some good videos about these new Siser machines. This may very well be on my list of what to add to my craft room. Thanks again for sharing.

I'm very interested in this or the Juliette. The only problem I have with purchasing it right now is that I don't understand why Siser didn't debut strong with a mobile application for tablets. I know they are saying they are working on one, but their biggest competitor, Cricut, has the best mobile experience for people like me who don't and dont want to own a PC or Mac. This would've been an easy purchase for me if they had that. The ability to create on a tablet while out during the day, then just set up and print when I get in, would've made this a winner by far. Hopefully they can create a great experience since they are brand new and building from the ground up.

Enjoyed the video even though I recently got the Starcraft Solo! I'm always up to learning something new because some functions are similar across other machines.
For vinyl, you should barely be able to feel the blade when you run your finger across the bottom of the blade holder. If you can, then definitely less pressure is required. If you don't already know this, the blade can be adjusted by loosening the gold ring then turning the silver ring counter clockwise to draw it in some. After you have that set, tighten the gold ring again.

I think the lever at the back of the rollers is to adjust the grip tension of the rollers. I may be wrong though, We use professional cutters at work and they are something we have never adjusted.

The machine is still loud compared to graphtec that have servo motor. The graphtec will run circles around this machine but the difference is the graphtec is a professional cutter but the Romeo is for crafters. The Romeo comes with a stepper motor where as graphtec and roland and other high end cutters are servo motors. You can compare this cutter to a graphtec. You also need to adjust the blade which is but that hard but the graphtec comes with a blade loupe for adjusting the blade.

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions  2 года назад +1

Yea. Great points. It’s still easier to use and more plug and play than the graphtech and cost alot less and more enjoyable to use. The menu system is easy to understand and the software is also easy to understand.

@@adubbproductions there are HEAPS of extremely bad reviews on the Cameo 4's on google ... are they really that bad? I mean, they are all plastic and do look very flimsy, as compared to the Siser units

Good stuff bro. I have someone selling me their graphtec ce7000 for $700. Is basically the price for the romeo. Which one would you go for? If learning curve wasn't the case

    • @adubbproductions

Brand new Romeo or used graph tech. I’d go for the Romeo. Even if it was a new graphtech id still go for the Romeo. I just genuinely just don’t enjoy using the graphtec. I respect it for what it is but It’s never my go to.

I’m watching the replay. You may have done this already but you have your blade set too high in the housing. Adjust it so that it is barely visible in the housing. Also, make sure the blade is just on the edge of the vinyl. Great machine.

    • @adubbproductions

User error. Your blade is out too far. Secondly your blade should be in the bottom left corner. The cutter starts wherever the blade is positioned.
