  • Trying out an affordable cordless chainsaw for getting firewood on an afternoon in the woods. I was pretty impressed with how long the batteries lasted and the size of wood this little pruning chainsaw can handle.
    Check out Iridium242's review of this cordless chainsaw at the link below.

    I just bought one yesterday. Thanks for your video and I'll remember to eject the battery!

    Used this exact saw today and absolutely loved it. I liked the fact there was no safety to fiddle-fart with, just grip and rip. The only draw back was it overheated a little to quickly. The Chain was razor sharp and the battery ( I only had one) recharged just under 2 hours. I'm qurious to see how long it lasts until I'm forced to by another one.

      Mine is still going strong, but I do agree that it overheats a little too quickly, but that might be because I have been using it to cut bigger wood than it is designed for. But for the price it was worth it.

    I love how it says "chain saw" on the blade!! 😆😆 Dude, this thing is cool! The lack of safety surprises me though!

      The lack of safety makes me extremely nervous, but for the price they had to ‘cut’ corners somewhere. Unfortunately that might include a finger or too. Thanks for watching and the comment.

      These rechargeable small chainsaws are perfect for that or any type of cleanup of small branches or trees. This model with a 4 inch bar can only handle small jobs, but it has been working perfectly for me when out in the woods doing camp cleanup and cutting up firewood.

    I can’t get mine to work. It actually started when I first received about a year ago. I never used it. It’s been packed away, without battery attached. Battery was fully charged. I pulled it out to use this summer and it won’t start. I charged the battery again thinking it was the battery, but still nothing. 😞

    Ya know.. I've seen those advertised on Facebook and it's made me wonder about getting one.
    Seems pretty nice.. no guard though?? Damn!
    The fact that it gets hot and stops would annoy me a little.. but it would be better than sawing a bunch.
    Thanks for the video brother

      I don’t like the lack of a lockout or a cover for the bar. The issue with it stopping only happened a few times and usually when I was trying to cut wood that was pushing the limits for such a small length saw. Overall, it was a big timesaver when it came to getting firewood prepped and I will be using it (or something like it) in the future for outings when I know we will need a good supply of firewood for the day or evening.

    -remember the old boyscout rule: always saw outwards, log going down your free hand should be opposite of the logs downward way.
    Thank you for a good review.

    I just got mine. I think I might make a little slide on holster out of leather for the blade.

      I still have it and it works but I suspect I am one of the lucky ones. I have heard from other people that it doesn’t last that long and once it breaks it is impossible to get parts for.

    How do you sharpen this little chainsaw?

    • @BarnYardOutdoors
      @BarnYardOutdoors  3 года назад +2

      The chain is a standard type chain saw chain so you can sharpen it just as you would sharpen a regular sized chain saw. It could easily be sharpened with a small file or even a Dremel with the chainsaw sharpening stone attachment.

      I use a little 3-in-1 oil on the bar and a couple drops on the gear the chain wraps around.

    I bought one, worked fine but then it broke about 3 months later. Couldn't buy parts, no warranty, no help from seller or Amazon - so..... what's a boy to do?

    • @BarnYardOutdoors
      @BarnYardOutdoors  3 года назад

      Mine is still working. I got it as a cheap way for me to see if there was any value in having something like this knowing it wouldn't last forever. My plan is to eventually replace it with a more well known brand so I have something reliable with a warranty.

    How long does the battery last?

    • @BarnYardOutdoors
      @BarnYardOutdoors  2 года назад

      That's a tough question to answer. It depends on the type (hardness) of the wood and the size. I have found it cuts enough for an afternoon or evening fire before needed to swap out the battery and long as you are cutting through wood that is the size of the bar or less.
