Nah, metal is a no go for me. I use mostly nonstick, so I use the MSR kitchen set. It's expensive stuff, though, so my Trangias are all packed with dollar store mini utensils 😂

I just picked up a similar set. It has the bale attachment, and the pouch is deep enough for an esbit stove and two long handled sporks . The front pouch has room for the lid, lighter. SAK and tea.

I TYPICALLY don't use a water filter. I've drink straight from the wild for over 25 years. Without a single problem. BUT ! .... That doesn't mean I won't someday needing a water filter. ( I COULD FIND MYSELF IN A SITUATION NEEDING WATER WHERE THE WATER IS BAD ) So just to be safe. I do carry a SAWYER MINI SQUEEZE &. I made me a little activated carbon filter. Attachment that screws to the Sawyer filter. That I can rebuild or replace the activated carbon. So .... I don't have to ever buy another carbon filter. All I've got to do is fix it. Much much cheaper.

As for time, I go for about 7-8 min as well. The trick is, just like you do… once starts to perk, turn down the heat just a touch. Dont want a rolling boil. However, I have found, if you boil the coffee for at least 5 minutes, it seems to be less acidic. Just is a bit more messy with over flow of grounds. I’m still trying to get that happy medium and the best of both worlds.

What type of grind do you use for your perc’s? I find normal store grind is a little fine.

I might have to try the Fenix. It looks like a good light. I use Bungee Dealee Bobs to hang anything from tent, tree limb or tarp line. It is more secure and easier to hang vs carabiner.

Yes it does cost over $30 for what looks and feels like the aluminum bud light bottle version of a take-out throw away container, but it does come with free lead poisoning.

Hopefully you have better luck than me with it. I am on my second one as the first one quit working and after numerous emails to the company and a few months later they finally responded sent me another one. I only get about 2 hours out of it though before it needs recharged. It is built well and is pretty cool !
