Thank you for this lesson. ❤❤
You are so welcome
Thank you teacher! The lesson was very helpful to me. It carefully summarizes almost the grammar knowledge of passive forms. I love the "your turn" section where you gave learners instructing examples and you left us number 5 to challenge our understanding.
My answer is:
The situation is serious, something must be done before it's too late.
See you again, teacher.

Hi Abmalik, welcome to my channel!
Hi teacher...is the passive form more formal than the active or the opossite is true??
In general, I would say yes it is.
The situation is serious. Something must be done by someone before it's too late.
Hi,
Well done! Your sentence is correct but you don't need the "by someone" as that is implied when using the passive.
The situation is serious. Something must be done before it's too late.
I hope that helps!

Hello mam, can you answer me,
"Bridge has been being constructed for 2 month." What will be the alternate sentence for it. How can I correct it?
Hi Amit, thank you for your question.
I think this would be better:
"The bridge has been under construction for 2 months." Hope this helps! 🙏
@@oxfordenglishnow thanks mam 🙏🙏🙏
Hi the most wonderful teacher; could you clarify for me this "passive sentence is being done to the subject" ?
Yes, Nouhaila, the passive is when the subject of the clause receives the action.
@@oxfordenglishnow I see thanks a lot ❤
The situation is serious something must be done before it gets late.
That's right, Harvinder. Well done!
Mam what is the difference between perfect infinitive and past perfect?
The perfect infinitive is a construction that involves "to have" + past participle and is often used to show the completion of an action before another action or point in time, while the past perfect tense involves "had" + past participle and is used to describe an action completed before another past action or a specific past moment. I hope that helps!
Madam,are there any differences among these words?probably,perhaps,may be,possibly etc:please clarify.p Siva Rao,India
Hi Siva, probably means that something is highly likely to happen whereas perhaps, maybe and possibly show more doubt. They are possible but not sure. Hope that helps 🙏🏼
Dear Splendid Prof , what about these sentences:
a) More than fifty people HAVE BEEN evacuated SO FAR.
or
b) More than fifty people HAVE BEEN BEING evacuated SO FAR.
If I use " so far = until now " the action is completed at that moment, thus I should use Present perfect in passive voice and not present perfect continuous in passive voice .
c) The cathedral WAS renovated in the 1970s and not "...has been renovated in the 1970s" I use was renovated because of "in the 1970S in specific time"
Am I wrong ? Please help me !
I do love English language, but sometime it makes my crazy. Thank you kindly. A
Hi Andrea, With your first 2 sentences, a is correct. a) More than fifty people HAVE BEEN evacuated SO FAR.
As for your sentence c) I agree WAS is the correct answer because we have the time flag of the 1970s and the action is complete.
Hope that helps!
