      Factomundo. Hypothetically speaking here so I'll use myself as an example, but if I don't want to quit drugs than rehab is only going to bring my tolerance back closer to zero and put me at a much higher risk of catching a hot bag and dying within the first week of returning home. If I want to quit then I'm not waiting for rehab I'm starting today, and if they show up offering rehab I'm jumping on the opportunity as soon as I realize the intent.

      I'm in recovery right now, but let me tell U it was hard getting help & not due 2 me not trying, a lot of f these treatment facility employees act like the money is coming str8 out they checks & give U the run around plus treat U freaking like ur the scum of the earth for having an addiction of any sort... & Now they want U 2 have a residing address 2gt in , which in my case I don't have my own, so then U get rejected over the 📱 without our even stepping foot in the door... All I'm saying is there has 2b some change when it comes 2 helping ppl like us, bc once we get rejected we go back 2 what we know... This time I gave those ppl a run for their money & made them help me by filing grievances & more, but the next person may not not have the fight in them & let go which cld end the fight for them altogether.

      As a recovering addict with 8 yrs clean off H.. That statement is very true..You can do anything for an addict to get help including buying a rehab but it's up to the addict to want change, I had to hit so many bottoms before I was ready to stop. I'm blessed that hit me at 24 , I'm not 33 . I have friends who are still out there and time is just flying by them.

      @@kheatherthompson thanks y’all! I love it when women lift each other up! Addicts are afraid to get better because it’s so hard fighting the straight life, day in and day out. Sometimes it’s minute by minute, second by second. Fighting the urge to take the easy route is SO MUCH harder than people realize!! When I got clean, I had NOBODY in my corner. Nobody believed me anymore! So the only support system I had were AA and NA. It took a year to get some of my family back, and in that year I had to figure out my whole new life. No rehab. Just cold turkey. But I DID IT. So it really hurts my heart to see the addicts on this show just reject family over and over.

      @estherkim8001 2 года назад +46

      I don't think it's just the drugs, although yes it does affect people, it's the way she's navigating through situations...she was thinking positively about getting better when she saw one of her daughters being supportive, but when her other daughter had a bad response about the intervention, she then, also immediately changed her mind, taking it as a sign that the whole thing was a bad idea. Overly sensitive to negativity, and letting the negativity lead the way. If you remember what the daughter on the phone said; "you're trying to separate us." That's a weird thing to say when the plan was to bring all of them to California. The only ones they were trying to separate was the mother and her boyfriend....Seems like Lanayah may have had other obligations in Philly, but it's interesting she'd rather her mother pass on the opportunity to change her life for the sake of them being close in proximity. The mother basically passed up the opportunity for Lanayah.

When I read the captions that she thought her Mom was going to treatment so she rushed over and got into the car with the Mom's boyfriend, I was officially disgusted and disappointed. I don't know if she can imagine life without trauma.

      People are aware of how awful drug addiction is. The problem is that people associate addiction with moral failure (aka choosing to do drugs) rather than seeing drug use as self- medicating for trauma and other mental health issues. A similar stigma exists when people are overweight - oh, it must be their fault they are unhealthy. We need to do better as a society to have empathy for others, even those whose choices have taken them where they are now. Mental health is just as important as physical health (and they affect each other) but we love to blame people for their health issues rather than showing compassion.

    When Amber and her friend started hugging and crying I cried right with them🥺
    I hope her friend gets the help she needs and stays clean❤️❤️❤️

    I'm glad the daughter moved away from Philly and is starting a new life. When you have blood that refuses to get help, you have to cut ties or they take you down with you. That was a tear jerker moment when Amber and the friend hugged and she said she didn't want her to see her like this.
