  • #maldives #GoPro #eriyadu #Holiday Video of my 2019 holidays at Smartline Eriyadu Island Resort in North-Male-atoll, Maldives. Relaxing on the beautiful beaches, canoeing around Eriyadu, exploring the nice tropical island and snorkeling around the house reef with nurse sharks, black tip and white tip sharks, a lot of turtles, sting rays and I even had the luck of seeing a manta ray at the house reef. The transfer via boat took about 50 minutes from the airport. Awesome, spectacular views. Maldives are paradise!

    Incredible scenery wow! Beautiful shark. Those sharks aren't aggressive towards humans? Do you have to kind of ask the locals about what to watch out for before going snorkelling? Was this a solo trip? Looks incredible.

    • @Mister20seven
      @Mister20seven  Год назад +1

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked it :) The nurse sharks were really curios and came quite close, but didn't show any sign of aggression. Just checking you out. Usually on all theses resort islands like Eriyadu there is a diving center, where you can ask about the dangers, currents and all things related. SOmetimes you can even book a guided snorkelling trip at the house reef. Or of course a trip to another reef nearby. I've been there with my parents, but in my own bungalow..luckily :)

    • @dinnersat630
      @dinnersat630 Год назад

      That's the dream! Never hurts to get some local information! Those guided trips are nice too cause they can take you to some good spots. Sometimes they charge an arm and a leg though when you can just swim out to the spot yourself haha. Just started a new job this year so no vacation time. Next year is Japan for 3 weeks in October, maybe a week long trip in December, maybe Maldives! Or anywhere really. Plus a week in summer. It's not much but it'll do! In the meantime it's local spots on days off when I feel like it.
      Do you have a lot of upcoming travel adventures planned?

    • @Mister20seven
      @Mister20seven  Год назад +1

      @@dinnersat630 Absolutely, these guys really can give you some great advice. Or just have a nice chat. Japan sounds exciting, such a diverese country with lots of things to do and explore. I can highly recommend the Maldives :) I guess there's always way too less vacation time haha. I didn't have planned anything right now. Just staying here, maybe some daytrips with my dog :) I saw you can charter a boat for up to 14 days, where it's just your friends/family and a small crew. Just cruise through the atolls, snorkeling everywhere, visiting local islands, lonely sandbanks etc,...Not the ceapest idea, but I couldn't think of a better trip to the Maldives since I saw that this is possible there.

    I am shocked, I was on this island in 1987.
    There was no infrastructure yet, just a few simple bugalows and a diving base, but the underwater world was colorful ...
    Now pure luxury but a coral cemetery.
    There was brilliant fresh fish in different variations every day. I suspect that there is now pizza too, right?
    The paradise is sold out, sad development .....

    • @Mister20seven

      Eriyadu was still very basic compared to other resorts that's what I liked about it. From what other people say /videos show, most of the coral reefs in the Maldives are harmed, unfortunately. They had fish everyday, but also a great variety of other foods. Pizza as well. But I would love to have experience it back in 1987, especially the underwater world.

    Which one is better? Eriyadu Safari Bandos and Summer

    • @Mister20seven
      @Mister20seven  2 месяца назад

      Hard to Tell. I really enjoyed all islands. There are a lot of boats and ships around bandos due to it being so close to Male and the airport, so I guess I wouldn't go there again. Summer Island was pretty cool, but has no real reef. Eriyadu was a simple but beautiful island with a nice reef. Safari islands reef was awesome, it had many sharks and rays and other animals plus the boat trips they offer were something else. Food, staff, organization was great everywhere. Depending on what you prefer, you can't go wrong with all of them. I didn't have a single negative experience on the Maldives so far.

      Yes, you can rent snorkeling equipment on Eriyadu / the diving school. It was possible on every island I visited on the Maldives.

      Yes, when I was on Eriyadu you could play pool, darts, go kayaking or stand-up paddling, there was a badminton pitch. And they offered a few excursions. I was snorkeling around the reef most of the time, there was always something to see :)
