The art style, the expressions there all so perfect. “Don’t you know I would have loved you the way you were whole” this line fits so perfectly bc she’s saying how she did and would have loved him, not as a mate, but as a friend, but he ruined it by trying to sabotage her life. I love how at 0:38 Ashfur gives a smile like he thinks he still has a chance with squirrelflight but as squirrelflight gets more progressively aggressive with him, he realizes that squirrelflight doesn’t love him and doesn’t want to be with him. I also love the chase and death scene, you are criminally underrated. Subscribed!
One thing with more realistic art is that it’s harder to catch emotion. Not only did you do amazing with that style, you kept the emotions perfect. You could *feel* what they felt during the animatic. This was just perfect. I’d love to see more from you :)
At first I thought this was Mapleshade and Apple Appledusk because it fits them pretty well, but then I realized it was Squilf and Ash and THAT'S SO GOOD I LOVE THIS IDEA A LOT!!! Ngl while I predicted that the three were actually Leafpool's kits (literally on the first book of The Power of Three Series) I really missed the mark and actually thought Squilf killed Ashfur because of Leafpool's reaction. I was so excited to see the lead up behind it, like Squilf was betrayed by Ash for making her tell the truth about the kits but more importantly putting them in danger and felt he needed to die because he was too dangerous to her, them, and the clan because of it. Plus it would have been an interesting way to show that she still thinks of the three as her own kits even if they were not hers by blood, even going to the extent of killing to protect them. At the same point that would also mean Hollyleaf never would have met Fallingleaves, and they're way too cute of a couple to not exist lol.
THE FACT THAT THEY DIDN'T THINK TO JUST HOLD ASHFUR DOWN UNDER THE WATER AND DROWN HIM IS INFURIATING AND YOU ARE A TALENTED ARTIST AND GENIUS THIS! WE NEEDED THIS IN THE STORY!

OH MY GOSH! THIS IS GORGEOUS! I honestly love how this played out, I always wished that in ALITM Squirrelflight would be the one to end Ashfur tyranny (yes I’m considering Ashfur a tyrant) cause it made more sense because basically the whole The Broken Code ark happen because Ashfur never let go of his of Squirrelflight even tho is was clear that she didn’t see him as a mate but rather a good friend, this love became a full on obsession to the point he just treated her like an object and actively trying to hurt her and ruin her life even in death because she hurt him in his eyes, Squirrelflight probably finally tired of what Ashfur has done and she decides that is time to bring a end to all and she kills Ashfur spirit to end all the pain he cause, not only for hurting her but also because he try to kill her sister kits, help a cat kill her dather, he used and manipulated other cats, exiled cats, caused multiple battles and possessed her mate, Bramblestar, Ashfur realizes that he caused his own downfall and that he could have still be Squirrelflight as a friend, in the end Ashfur downfall was not caused by Squirrelflight, but by his obsession of her, unable to let go and move on, actively trying to hurt her and make her pay for breaking his heart and ultimately his gone forever
Would’ve loved squilf taking out Ashfur, and also squilf becoming leader after this. It would’ve been so more satisfying in some ways, and squilf should be leader anyways :) (Squilf is my comfort character and my fav character in all of the series and she deserves so much better)
