Love your playing and love Roberts pedals.. The best of both worlds here. Robert your customer service guy is awesome just got off the phone with him.. You guys rock. What a great help. Keep these amazing pedals coming. 👍
Hyrda is phenomenal sounding, and your playing makes it shine. I love Keeley's Harmonic Trem on the Verb o Trem and the Room Reverb on the Memphis Sun.
I wasn't quite sold on this pedal until I saw this video. You really dove into the features of the pedal and showcased a wide variety of uses! Thanks so much. It was great! I'm definitely considering this pedal now!
That was a great demo did a good job showing how to control the beast. I think you pushed me over the edge as to if I was going to buy one. An expression pedal really adds to what you can do.
I've been using a Catalinbread Topanga, out in front of my amp, and it does the outboard spring reverb sound pretty well, but I've been thinking it'd be nice to have some options and also get reverb in my effects loop, after my stereo Keeley Eccos (stereo, like Jay says, is a revelation). The Flint doesn't have stereo in, so I was looking at the Fender Tre-Verb, but man, this one is right at the top of the list. Really great video, Jay, I dig your energy, man!
I bought this pedal a while ago based on this review and now I'm watching it over again to get ideas on the settings... Great demo as always Jay...the best on RUclips and the worst for my credit card bill!!
That is a beautiful strat; the only red that matters. Sick playing as always,- the expression pedal interlude was truly inspirational. The verb and trem sections both sound great, - it's almost there with some of the digital sims, - Strymon, of course, but I think it's humble Source Audio that first bagged the Spring and Trem in that format.I could do with fewer options on this , but I suppose the appeal is to multi genre applications. I do some broad crossover, yet I'd almost prefer another pedal to multi functions.Keeley are staying in the game, which is good to see from one of the initial groundbreakers.
Haha...loved that version of Ghost Riders... I am interested in this reverb, it's just a shame I don't need the trem. I'm very happy with my surfytrem. So, a bit of a conundrum...paying for half of the pedal that's not needed. However, a very cool pedal. And great playing here!!! Thanks. 🎸🎸🎸
Good gravy! Sleepwalk and Ghost Riders in the Sky! I love it when there's little to no metal or even overly crunchy content. That's real guitar playing folks! (takes a timeout to yell at cloud) I love this pedal and want one badly. I'm making do with a Valeton Rushead Max for reverb and trem, which actually sounds great through my tiny budget tube amp, but this thing...
Great product and video J. Spring reverb really wet from surfy bear compact and opto tremolo in the end. Between verb and trem a nice analog delay;) and ready for garage surf!! my drive lately as well something from keeley.. phat mod germanium! Keep up with the great job. You deserve massively more likes. Don't worry they all come soon. Greets from Berlin.
@@JayLeonardJ All I can think of is how much I liked that Stratocaster. Looked up Ruben's guitar shop, and seems to be in Australia. I'm guessing your's is a different Ruben's??? Great demo as always. I'm about to become a patron. Thank you for what you do.
Great pedal. I've been A/Bing it against the Blue Sky and I'm really torn. The plate verb on the Hydra is better than any other verb pedal I've tried. Bright and spacious, yet natural and inviting sounding. The harmonic trem is also pretty awesome, and pairs perfectly with the plate sound. However I just find the room reverb pretty underwhelming on it. The room on the Blue Sky just kills it. BS is warm, detailed and dynamic. I wish Hydra had more of a warm hall setting on it, as that would make it a pretty perfect pedal imo. Great playing as usual! Got killer sounds out of it.
There's so many artists who I'd love to hear use this pedal ... Jeff Beck, Duke Levine, Tim Lerch, Johnny A, Mark D'Rozario (Tailgaters guitar player), etc...
Have watched most of the demo videos for this pedal and this one is among the very best - nice work! One suggestion - maybe less tremolo bar use when demoing an actual tremolo pedal. Makes it more challenging to truly hear what the pedal's doing. Keep up the great work on this channel. You've got a new subscriber for sure!
Nice demo. Curious about accessing the presets? It seems to be a Kelley “Flint”, but maybe not as simple to use? I know the Flint has a lot of hidden functionality like this pedal. I’m sure the Kelley has built on, and improved the functionality? I happy to see more companies competing this format of pedal.
@@deaneaxboy I have watch a few more demos and it doesn’t seem too daunting? When I can afford it, I will factor in a bunch of things. Keeley’s stuff always sounds good!
My main reverbs at the moment are the Slö and Meteore. I tend to prefer reverbs that have some sort of modulation going on. Also stop making everything sound good.
SawwwwwwWheat tonez dude! It made my $40 Behringer rv600 delay pedal cry to the Morley Wah pedal, and all I heard all night was "Wahhhhhh wah wah wahhhhh"... So I ordered it a 'wahburger'...we good
Hey... Jay, I have really been liking me some plate reverb, but I don't have one, I normally just use some delay. I do use a "Night Wire" harmonic tremolo, but I'm eyeballing the new one from JAM. So... I don't know, maybe.. I don't know, maybe.. Do I need it? I don't know, maybe.. But that Hydra sounds great, and I already have a retro super phat :0)
It shouldn't be, but man reverb is the toughest - never found the perfect single pedal yet, though tons of great ones out there. The Hydra sounds top rank. Utopia for me would be something that can, simultaneously if I wanted, drip like SA's True Spring but do the ambiance like the Hydra and others. Think True Spring into an Avalanche Run v2. I like Harmonic type trems best. The Hydra scores on ambience, surfy spank/bounce and trem and yeah this is one more reverb I would add, but I think I'm gassing for a Super Phat Mode more right now. JLJ's playing and upbeat presentation makes for enjoyable watching and listening. Really should have, will have, 3X more Subs.
Great demo, great pedal. Although, I couldn't hear any drip sound at all with the spring mode. It seems like more defined and modern design. That's my 2 cents.
One day tou could teach how to do that wonderful scallop with the right hand. Not on the low E string, that’s easy. Doing it well on the internal strings separate the boys from the pros. Keep it up, great demo.
This sounds awesome but I'm still planning on getting the flint. I love how refined and simple the flint is. The sounds are just incredible and there is zero tricks, it just does what you want beautifully. I'm also planning on picking up the Supro Tremolo. Its by far the best straight up term I've ever heard!

f*ck! I already have a good number of reverbs... and some tremolo and vibe too... but this! and I shouldn't be surprised, as I already have two others boxes by Keeley and they are both awesome (Dark Side and Monterey)... f*ck! the only thing I am disappointed by is the visual of the pedal, I guess I don't like that big white type much... regardless, it does sound great! awesome playing and great video! :) Happy New year! regards from Prague
Not the true drip, but it is more suited for rhythmic playing than a super drippy box. Check out the True Spring: that is the closest I've heard a digital pedal come to dripping.
