Lovely market full of fresh, fresh food! Here in the USA, we don't have that particular vegetable; but we do have collard greens and we cook it in much the same way. No need for the salt fist because we cook the vegetables with smoked meat (pork or turkey) that has salt of its own. I have some greens (yes, we call them 'greens' here) in my refrigerator right now. Its good to see how our ancestors handed down traditional cooking through the centuries.
OHHHH I like this vegetable, it is called Green in Nigeria, Folong in Cameroon and Amaranthe scientific name. so delicious, does not need too much extra in and still taste so goodddd
Story of my life....I tell myself I will buy just tomatoes and peppers but I end up coming back with banga, onto, veg, yam, yellow pepper.... infact, anything that looks great and attractive is coming home with me
I get heartburn simply watching you put all those peppers in and I'm impressed and put to shame knowing baby Tiara can handle more spice than a grown woman 😪
We call it Aupa(Png) that green leafy vegetable that you bought.Scientific nme is Amaranthus.I love it too.we hve it in green, pink and mixture of pink and green. The stamps are soft,we eat it too
I replicated dis and it came out really delicious. Will upload it soon to my channel and I am sure gonna tag you. Tnx Sisi Yemi for d inspiration. Kisses.
In this time of Covid it is best to buy at your local/neighbourhood market. It is like going to the people instead of the people coming to you.Don't forget to wear your masks as well.
Those greens look like Callaloo! We eat this all the time in the Caribbean. I can eat this everyday! I grow that thing on my balcony here in Atlanta. It is also good to drink because it is loaded. But we eat this with provisions and fish.
The greens 🥬 we call it Bondwe & very easy to grow. Green Amaranth, very tasty 😋 indeed. I like mine mixed with cut in half aubergine (Garden eggy). Well done 👌🏾
Right now Sisiyemmie, everyone is trying to eat low-carbohydrate meals in order to either lose alot of weight, maintain a healthy weight or to improve their health to cure diabetes etc. etc. This meal looks like it will have a very low-carb content if you have it with beans or sweet potato. 👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

That “green” is called calaloo in 🇯🇲 Jamaica and I love it
Jamaicans call this vegatable callalo. We typically make it alone or with salted cod fish and bolied yam or boiled green bananas and fried plantain

Consider cutting the stems into tiny bits and adding instead of throwing away, it’s packed with nutrients.
