- Police are searching for the man accused of punching actor Steve Buscemi in the face in New York City on Wednesday, according to officials.
Police were called to 369 Third Ave. in Manhattan around 12 p.m. Buscemi was taken to the hospital to be treated for bruising, swelling and bleeding in his left eye, according to officials.
It's always "random" when it's black on white.
It was not called random when the victims were Asian.

I have a white father and I’ve experienced systemic racism even though I embrace my white ancestry. As a matter of fact, I learned what I know the most about systemic racism from my white male college professor.

@@el.aye.bee.4477 It depends what the motivation for the attack was. Given that there were no words exchanged, it would reason that the motivation for the attack was completely visual. As in the suspect saw what the victim looked like and based on that alone motivated the attack. However for it to be a hate crime it would have to be motivated by a protected identity. So if the suspect were to say "I just didn't like his shirt" then that wouldn't be a hate crime. However since hate crimes have gone up by 400% in the last year it's possible this was a hate crime. But we wont know until the suspect is questioned.
