That sets a dangerous precedent for other donors. He gave up his sperm, he is not legally a father to these children so shouldn’t have to pay anything. It creates a new problem for other donors who do NOT want children but want to help other families. I don’t know what contract he signed but it would be better to just send him to jail. As I am watching this I realise he probably didn’t have any contract, but because he willingly gave away his sperm should mean something in the eyes of the law that they did not want the children created by his sperm.

I feel bad for the kids… imagine never knowing who your dad is until one day you get curious and look him up and find out he’s literally insane and has a god complex. The secondhand embarrassment must be immeasurable.
I just watched the documentary and this was actually his plan. It's implied that he made his youtube channel to spout his political rhetoric for the express purpose of his kids looking him up when they get curious about their biological father, to then be indoctrinated by his content.
Imagine knowing who your dad is and one day no longer seeing him until one day you get curious and look him up and find out he’s insane and that your mom was still letting you see him even after she knew he was insane and taking him to court.
The fact that his content didn't deter them or make them think twice about who they're having kids with leads me to believe they're either hella irresponsible and desperate (while seeking out parenthood, ick) or they're on the same shit he's on. People like that do tend to find each other. Though these two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.
@elleofhearts8471 the mothers are definitely on the same mindset. Especially bc they were so particular about having a white child w blonde hair, blue eyes, etc... they even wanted to get to know their donor. But they somehow "missed" his white supremacist ideologies. Racism just wasn't a deal breaker I guess.

asian being the second most popular actually makes sense, look at the adoption industry. tons of white families jumping through hoops to adopt asian babies, especially chinese babies. which is also Something We Should Talk About
Definitely. I believe they are the most popular when it comes to donating eggs too. I’ve seen countless ads asking specifically for Asian and white women. It’s gross af
It also because China doesn’t allow single women to do IVF in China so they come to the US (Many countries in Europe and Asia don’t allow single women to have IVF). Japan doesn’t allow single women either. Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan don’t allow it either(non-exhaustive list). I think that may skew the statistics as well.
i know a lot of people go to china to adopt ecause of how little the cost is in comparison to other countries. adoption is a lot of money in addition to raising a child. also there's more "supply" since china doesnt really have the space in cities for many children households. ive heard from my chinese friends how little space there is there, and how tthere's small grass only for looking, they just dont have the space where people want to live and raise kids. I personally dont think thats an environment i would want my future children to live in
the comments made me curious, so I jumped face first into researching this cuz its pretty interesting and there is a whole paper that covers the basis of white americans adopting babies from other countries. And the data is basically: - private adoption is hard/they were rejected - they [the adopting families] assimilate the foster care system with poverty, unhealthy children, and drug abuse (a lot to unpack here) - they honestly think babies from other countries are healthier (excluding Russia) - they think chinese babies are cute, and the stereotypes associated with them are easier to deal with, on the other hand many openly said black american children were too "different" culturally and "too much" (LOT TO UNPACK HERE) - they want zero contact with the birth family - they think they are rescuing those children (especially the chinese girls) - they have this weird, shallow connection to what they THINK the other culture is (which will result in the child feeling alienated from their birth nation for sure and its very common) - again, they downplay a lot the racism asian people suffer in the USA - they say they want to "diversify" their families, but also say a black child wouldn't fit So yeah, while money is kind of an issue, the race aspect is HUGE. Even when the intentions are good its still White Savior-ism. And if the price of adoption was the only issue this would be a common practice everywhere in the world, but it isn't. Yeah, I really don`t understand how the black haired, bit dorky looking husband of that one woman was OK with them choosing somebody that looks different than him and talking about his good looks. Excuse me, what?
This was my thought as well. If I was trying to have a kid with someone who had blonde hair and blue eyes, then yes, I'd probably look for that in a donor so that it would be as close as possible to what we would've gotten naturally. But if I'm trying with someone who is on the opposite end of the spectrum? Why the hell would I go for blonde-y here? Ew. I'm already pale enough for TWO people Thanks! (Plus I've already got the light colored eyes.....so I'd probably STILL not go for a guy like that because I've already GOT those genes) Maybe it helps that my Aunt and Uncle adopted my two cousins and they look like their kids. My aunt is Asian, I think she's Korean to be precise, so they adopted my two cousins from Korea so that they'd share her looks. (She has a health condition that can be spread to children because it's genetic so she knew she'd never have kids of her own) and my uncle has dark hair and eyes and looks every bit their father as well. I guess I just don't get wanting to have a child that looks Nothing like you in Any Way.
The constant "c'mon we know it's yte supremacy" looks are killing me😂😂😂 Also the fact genetic diversity was an issue when those people all wanted to create more of that guy is crazy, like, they looked at this man and said "it's our duty to make more of him"
@@nopenopexx that's why I don't get the "white supremacy" jokes. Isn't blue eyed blonde just the typical look? The first thing I was concerned about is the possible spread of incurable STDs to, not only the mothers, but future children. Especially if he is giving his sperm privately. That's terrifying
Yes!! Especially since he somehow convinces some of them to do the donation "naturally" Like, assuming he didn't start with an STD, if he only donated by sample in a cup, then things could stay relatively safe. But when he's donating via actual sexual intercourse that exponentially increases the chances of him catching something and then passing it along. I also find it hard to believe he uses any kind of protection in his sexual relationships that are not donor arrangements, it seems like that would go against his whole philosophy.
The women are just as much to blame these are grown women looking for sperm donors in a marketplace. Now they're mad they all chose the same dude? Reminds me of women's rage getting pumped and dumped by guys who is not settling down. He manipulated me= He's handsome so i ignored red flags. Paternity fraud reveals women's underlying agenda.
the asian thing is def everything you’ve mentioned. and i also think asian, especially east asian, is probably like “white but not white.” like as long as the donor isn’t black or brown. asian provides that middle ground between having an “exotic” kid and whiteness.
There could be fewer Black/Brown donors because they pay less. I was really broke back in 2012 so my friends and I were considering egg donation, but there are price tiers based on race, education, etc. I would’ve had the same procedure as a white woman, but they would pay me less because my eggs weren’t in “high demand”
Holy shit that sounds so messed up. The criteria for this type of donations should be health, as in "will the egg pass on a gene that will make the child more prone to disease?" *NOT* "we will only accept eggs of the ethnicities that are on high demand" 🤢 I am so sorry you had to go through that :(
I think it has more to do with demographics. The US (if that's where you are) isn’t a majority black country and people usually want their kid to look like themselves, hence black gamete donations being less in demand. The blonde hair/blue eyes/tall preference is weird tho since white people don’t necessarily have those traits lol
Wow. I feel like even if eggs from black women weren’t high in demand, you should be payed the same amount. It’s not like your worth less bc your black like they does realize how weird that is to pay white women more for eggs?🤦♀️

about asian donors being the 2nd most popular: you would be SURPRISED by the amount of yt supremicists who are infatuated with asian people/culture. definitely in the 'model minority' or orientalist/exotic way, but there's a lot more nefarious stuff to it
Yep. My ex's brother is a far right white nationalist redpill bro and he got an Asian mail-order tradwife. Me and my ex (still on good terms) are so concerned for her tbh
something about it also feels very “white savior.” I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the white couples opting specifically for Asian donors are doing so not because they’re willingly opening their arms up to Asian children/people/culture, but because of some form of colorism. It also wouldn’t shock me if a lot of the Asian donors they’re picking happen to be East Asian in particular
@@achxo6340 definitely right about the colorism aspect to it! I think the appeal of (East) Asian culture to yt supremacists is the idea that they share the same conservative/traditional values and a history of colonialism
@@lilynguyen9918it also definitely goes back to the ‘model minority’ stereotype. Asian people are “more acceptable” to far-right white supremacists until we don’t fit into their stereotype of what Asian people are supposed to be like, or they find reason to blame us for something (biggest example being the pandemic). I also wonder if the examples we see of white parents specifically going out of their way to adopt Asian children, or white supremacists looking for Asian wives, do it because of some ‘white savior complex.’
Which is disturbing, but also kinda interesting given the “White men fetishize Asian women” stereotype. These are presumably White women looking for Asian donors to make biracial babies. It’s still very hella racist, like these women want to have pretty babies born with certain traits like they’re dogs or horses.
This is terrifying as a lesbian who will have to rely on a donor to have children - especially the stat about how many doctors have committed fertility fraud. I am disgusted.
Honestly, a lot of couples turn to relatives of the partner not supplying the egg/sperm, which is awkward or ick to some, but for them, not only does it maintain that genetic or phenotypic relation to the partner, it also balances the knowing and verifying the legitimacy the donor aspect compared to for-profit banks or private donation with strangers sourced off the internet.
Its a fantasy a lot of men have, wish I could say I was surprised by it. If it weren't for modern society and child support existing more men would be out here making heeps of children with 0 shame.

Its not just the men who are doing this though, its the families that are willingly engaging in eugenics. Eugenics marginalizes groups based on assumptions of genetic superiority that are founded in systemic racism and while doing so ignores all factors that foster human development and traits such as environment. The lack of biodiversity isn't only appalling, its damaging to the gene pool.

Right!! I understand filtering out people who have certain genetic conditions that would make life difficult for a child, or have recessive genes of a disease that the other parent also has therefore risking the kid having such disease, because that is ultimately not about eugenics but about quality of life for a kid. Like some people have certain cancers that run in their family, and I get if someone wouldn't want to risk that cancer passing down to their future kid. But HEIGHT?? RACE??? Like these people wanna play build-a-kid over here. WTAF.

It is rare tho, considering white people are a minority ethnically worldwide, a white person with blonde hair and blue eyes is even rarer, redheads are also included
The sperm donor industry being so insanely based on eugenics is... oh no. Why is the documentary playing it down so much?! This is RACISM and this one guy is part of such a larger movement! Edit: I sersiously hope he loses that case, because there are people who have won slander/libel cases even if they were in fact charged in court for crimes they committed...
This is giving similar Western Europe Eugenics as Denmark's abortion/Down Syndrome correlation. Basically Down Syndrome tests are mass available to pregnant people, and abortions are covered by the government. This has led to a shortage of resources for families/individuals with Down Syndrome because they effectively removed any new births from the population. We read about it in one of my classes around the time that my disability was becoming, well, disabling, and it has plagued my mind ever since. Highly recommend reading the Atlantic article, "The Last Children of Down Syndrome."
I had a down syndrome aunt and she was great, happiest woman I knew, had a job, went on cruises with her group home, great with babies, sassy, the MOST exquisite hair, better style than I could ever achieve. And her own brother said she should have been aborted, along with 'others like her'. Also, my baby sibling was a geriatric pregnancy - and the OB kept pressuring my mom to get an abortion, because the 'risk of cognitive disability was high considering family history' and it would be 'kinder'. Almost every single appointment he brought it up. And this was in America. Its everywhere. And people REFUSE to admit its eu genics - its just 'kinder'. Can't wait til the markers of other 'cognitive issues' get easier to spot prenatal! Really exciting for occasionally non-verbal ND people like me who are clearly problematic for the general public! Super interesting to know I'll soon be a derelict remnant of humanities weak links! Yay for progress!
I find it so funny how people will protest for eugenics but not put that same effort for protesting to make our world more loving and inclusive....it's a bit odd. To say the least.
@jazg275 nah I mean people who protest/support the idea that if your child has a disability you should abort them so they don't have a hard life. Speaking as a black woman who was looking for donors at one point, what I learned is that black and brown sperm is actually and very high demand because there is a lack of them. And a lot of these companies charge double what they charge for the More “readily available” races. There’s a lack of black donors for several reasons. First of all culturally is not some thing that we as a people know a lot about; it’s a new phenomenon for us. Secondly, to be a sperm donor, you have to have an accurate medical history of both sides of your family, which is not always available to a lot of donors. And a lot of sites require you to be college educated without a record.
This documentary really shows the level of depts people's selfishness and bias when they're given the option of having more control over the outcome of their children. It really makes you question the whole concept of unconditional love. As someone who never wants to get pregnant and only wants to adopt, I’ve been told several times by many people, especially my own mom, that it’s a bad idea. Whenever I asked them why, I’d get one of two answers. The first is “Because having your own baby with your husband is more special.” Isn’t the choice to be a parent, in general, supposed to be special? Why should it matter whether or not a child is related to you by blood? If a kid calls me mom, then I’m their mother. It doesn’t matter whether the kid looks like me, I WILL take care of them and love them as such. The second, and most popular, answer is “You don’t know what you’re gonna get if you adopt.” Do you think Christian parents who have an atheist child got what they wanted? Do you think straight parents who have a gay child got what they wanted? Do you think able-bodied neurotypical parents who have a disabled/neurodivergent child got what they wanted? Do you think doctor/lawyer/CEO parents who have a free-lance artist/RUclipsr/streamer child got what they wanted? You NEVER know how your kid is gonna turn out. No matter how much influence and control you think you have over your child, they’ll grow up into what THEY want to be, not what YOU want. Folks who get genially disappointed when their headcannons for their kids end up not being canon are the ones who are quick to disown their kids and replace them with another kid. Which really tells you what their true intentions for having kids were. Even folks who don’t go through all of this fertilization stuff still do weird fuck shit to get that perfect child that they want. An example of child abuse that no one talks about is parents who have several kids just to get the gender that they want. My own mom is a victim of this. She’s the oldest of 5 siblings, 4 girls and 1 boy. Take a wild guess which child ended up being the favorite? All her father (my grandpa) ever talked about was how proud he was of his son (my uncle). He’d always spoil him by buying him new clothes, bought him a car, and paid for his entire college fund. My mom’s family was very poor btw. So imagine how all the girls felt wearing raggedy hand-me-downs and getting into debt paying for their own cars and colleges while their little brother got to coast through life just because he’s the only boy. Of course, that ruined their relationship, and my grandpa is still genuinely ignorant as to why none of his kids get a long. This happens with so many families, yet nothing is ever done about it since there are no laws saying playing favorites with our kids or having more kids than you wanted just to get that one special kid while ignoring the others is illegal. Side note: The reason Asian sperm is the 2nd most popular is because a lot of people still believe in ther stereotype that Asians are the most intelligent race. Specifically, East Asians like Japanese, Chinese, and Korean people. Also, east Asians are heavily fetishized and romanticized by white people.
The first thing I thought of after reading the title were these renovation galvanized square steel eco friendly wood veneer videos where the couple accidentally gets one billion kids 😭😭😭
one thing abt freaky yt supremacists is that they for whatever reason think that their bloodline needs to be preserved like this is such a historically prevalent thing. so strange and deeply dangerous due to how far and wide it reaches and has HORRIBLE implications for genetic diversity worldwide. also if it is yt ppl that are looking for asian sperm... something something model minority something something most proximate to ytness (in their eyes). regardless this is all so weird and made my stomach hurt :((
When you mentioned the ick, I instantly thought about the text messages of the bleaching out Africa. Mainly because Laura High from Tiktok talked about this. She's a donor conceived person who wants legislation done for the fertility banks. She knows of pods and why people need to tell their kids, as the banks will tell them to not. Mainly for medical reasons. Edit: You showed her and her tiktoks!!!
@@vanillakilla64 Let's not do that shaming thing, it's a valid want, especially for people, like queer people, who have had to reckon with the idea they couldn't have a kid.
Maybe this is a weird take but if how your child could look is the most important thing when considering sperm donors, maybe you shouldn't be having kids at this time in your life. Or at all.
Agreed, but I think there’s a factor of wanting to have a biological child but not being able to (especially for queer/sapphic/lgbtqia+ couples). I’m sure most people couldn’t care less about what their child looks like, but would like for their kid, especially if they get to choose their donor, to have traits similar to them and their partner. At the very least, I think that’s a bit different than just wanting your child to have a certain set of traits because they’re “more attractive” or whatever
@@HoneyAmielit's extremely funny because these genes are recessive, so even if donor has these rare desirable traits that are concidered beautiful because they are rare, there is no 100% guarantee that your baby would have these traits. My father has blue eyes blonde hair combo. My mother does not. I look like my grandfather from my father's side and my mom: brown eyes, brown hair.
From what I watched in the documentary, the parents were also talking about his personality and his confidence when meeting him so I think it's not the "most important" thing for some of them.
I found myself both sympathizing with the mothers especially if the mixing of "fluids" without consent is disgusting. Yet, i was also wondering why the process they used made me uncomfortable and then after just a few googles i found out it was eugenics. Even if you dont want to adopt, what about that one guy and his traits (🤢) made him such a prize othern than internalized ideals?
No, fr, just a culture so obsessed with the ideal of Blue-Eyes, White Babies that a man was single-wankedly able to create a whole evolutionary BRANCH.
So I just finished watching The Man with 1000 Kids and as usual Kennie's recommendation was spot on. I feel bad for the children when they get older they will essentially have to awkwardly tell everyone and basically DNA test everyone they come across to make sure they aren't sleeping with their relatives. My issue is with those who were aware of his views putting his "good looks" and " European features" over what is morally correct. This man is 100% in the wrong ,but he's also a weirdo, doesn't believe in science, and is giving very much 3K's. Like he seemed like a good candidate to yall???
It doesn’t sound like production was blind to the racist/eugenist aspects, or they wouldn’t have kept bringing it up. I think unfortunately they just didn’t want to challenge or alienate the people they were interviewing and risk them backing out. Like when they didn’t mention Drake Bell’s infractions in Quiet on Set bc he was their big draw and they didn’t want to risk alienating him.
I think this opens a wider discussion about sperm/egg donation, the fertility industry, and eugenics in general. Or it should. These serial donors are 100% participating and promoting eugenics, and perhaps the recipient parents don’t think they are if they just want a donor that looks like them, but they still sort of are participating. They’re dismissing traits that they don’t desire, whether that’s race, ethnicity, nose size, whatever. Even before photos were attached, you still selected your donor based on a written profile and personality traits. So there’s always been an element of selecting things you like, which is problematic. My uncle donated sperm for cash back in the 80s when you were anonymous (UK) and we found out a few years ago that actually he had a whole extra kid and grandkids. She didn’t know she was the result of a donation until she did ancestry. Hugely problematic. She doesn’t look anything like her family and always wondered why, but she looks like all of us!
It’s a good thing that so many of the moms found out so many of their kids were related to each other, not just because of how it allowed the lawsuit to happen, but also so their kids can know some of their siblings and have a community with each other. That being said, this whole situation just reveals how little regulation there is in the fertility industry and how this needs to be rectified with legislation in countries, and with correct oversight this wouldn’t have happened.
1. Yeah the eugenics part I was banking on real fast 2. As a black man who for some random af reason was AGGRESSIVELY advertised to donate to the cryobank (and still is) you'd think they'd be more open to having black donors lol they were not
idk if anyone remembers, but some years back there was actually a movie about a guy who i think donated a BUNCH of sperm and had a crap ton of kids. i think one of them found him and then he ended up trying to spend time with all of them. but it was supposed to be wholesome or something ? idk i only watched the trailer and i was like 8 or something edit: it's called Delivery Man and it came out in 2013
I did recently see an article about a man like this - I believe it was 20 kids and he indicated at the time of donation that he would love to be contacted by them when they were adults if that is what the children wanted. I don’t think he broke any rules and don’t think he sought out the kids once they were older, they came to him
I dont want to downplay the clear eugenics vibe this whole story has but i do wanna give a little context that Jonathan fits the EXACT beauty type in the netherlands around the 90's so im not suprised they found him *that* attractive
Around the 90s? Let’s be honest, these are the same countries where the Holocaust was particularly severe, and blonde and blue eyed traits were highly prized by Nazis as representing “completely pure” Aryan ancestry/dna.
@@Ilikefrogs.. And also there are a lot of ppl with blonde hair and blue eyes. So it makes sense for ppl to chose him as a donor if they want their kid to look a bit like their partner as well.
I thought it was about the creepy 90 Day Fiance guy, Kyle. He had a Vice doc so I was all "Look at him, milking is 5 minutes." But nope, there's just more of this mfs running around the globe. ETA: as someone seriously considering the donor route, this stresses me out.
Fertility clinics have aways been the wild west of paternity. Back in the 70s and 80s clinics often "sweetened" a patients own sample with donor sperm to up their numbers. Often the patients had no idea. I only discovered who my real father was on 23andMe. My parents always thought my dad's sample was used, turns out it was some random unconnected donor. My mom had no idea. Imagine finding out 43 years later you were carrying a strangers baby... it's like discovering retroactive rape. And this much later, there's no recourse. I'm happy I'm alive and all but it was really destabilizing to learn. My dad died a few years before I discovered this. Finding out he wasn't my actual genetic father was like losing him all over again. I'm still working out how to feel about it.
Kinda off topic: my ex tried to become a donor very early in our relationship (he was gonna do it before he met me and i didn't particularly care since we both didn't want kids and his body his choice yk) but when he went to a clinic he was told he COULDN'T BC HIS WAS BAD 😭 which looking back is both hilarious but for the best lmao
@@p.a.681If this was a regulated bank in the U.S., the guidelines are strict. Men have to be college-educated, tall, healthy, etc. in addition to passing psychological and genetic screening.
Its the same with egg donation. I tried to donate my eggs. I needed money for college and never plan to have kids of my own. I did my research and was fully prepared. I filled out the application and realized that despite being healthy, young, and in college, I was going make hardly any money. There were questions about whether my parents had graduated college and what my race was. The highest offer was for white women and higher still for those with jewish heritage. Being brown made me a dime a dozen I suppose. It made me feel gross and I decided not to donate after that.
thats sad, do indian women look for eggs? i ask since i feel it would be weird to use and raise a persons child who didnt look like them (or their partner) for the child, more questions at a young age. but to explain why for jewish its more, as a jew, we have less than a percent in the word population and people care about continuing the line and to care where you came from, there's also a lot who beleive that is not good for intermarriage between faiths, let alone progeny. its not racism because anyone can convert and be 100% jewish without the genes, i have many frineds of different colors and creeds who did convert or their ancestors did.
Statistically college education can predict how well your kids do. Kids whose parents are college educated tend to do better in life in all areas, it's unfortunate but a real correlation. Mothers who have been to college in particular tend to have kids who make more money over their lives and healthier choices.
@@GreenGorgeousness Just because it tends to happen doesn't mean it's the cause, especially when the more logical explanation is, if a kid is a raised by a well educated parent, chances are the parent put them in better schools, gave em tutors, gave them tips on how to study, etc etc
The Kenya twist really got me but once i saw his pic I immediately knew what he was on and where this was going. Insane amounts of willful ignorance. Sickening.

He could just not pay though, my dad doesn’t
@@Obsidian_Enigma in most countries you can send him to jail if he doesn't pay.

The fact that these women saw his RUclips videos and still wanted to procreate with him is absolutely mind boggling.
The fact that his content didn't deter them or make them think twice about who they're having kids with leads me to believe they're either hella irresponsible and desperate (while seeking out parenthood, ick) or they're on the same shit he's on. People like that do tend to find each other. Though these two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

asian being the second most popular actually makes sense, look at the adoption industry. tons of white families jumping through hoops to adopt asian babies, especially chinese babies. which is also Something We Should Talk About
And the data is basically:
- private adoption is hard/they were rejected
- they [the adopting families] assimilate the foster care system with poverty, unhealthy children, and drug abuse (a lot to unpack here)
- they honestly think babies from other countries are healthier (excluding Russia)
- they think chinese babies are cute, and the stereotypes associated with them are easier to deal with, on the other hand many openly said black american children were too "different" culturally and "too much" (LOT TO UNPACK HERE)
- they want zero contact with the birth family
- they think they are rescuing those children (especially the chinese girls)
- they have this weird, shallow connection to what they THINK the other culture is (which will result in the child feeling alienated from their birth nation for sure and its very common)
- again, they downplay a lot the racism asian people suffer in the USA
- they say they want to "diversify" their families, but also say a black child wouldn't fit
So yeah, while money is kind of an issue, the race aspect is HUGE. Even when the intentions are good its still White Savior-ism. And if the price of adoption was the only issue this would be a common practice everywhere in the world, but it isn't.

I imagine that it's not the priority to some people, If I was ever in that situation I wouldn't care about them looking like me.
(Plus I've already got the light colored eyes.....so I'd probably STILL not go for a guy like that because I've already GOT those genes)
Maybe it helps that my Aunt and Uncle adopted my two cousins and they look like their kids.
The criteria for this type of donations should be health, as in "will the egg pass on a gene that will make the child more prone to disease?" *NOT* "we will only accept eggs of the ethnicities that are on high demand" 🤢
I am so sorry you had to go through that :(
I think it has more to do with demographics. The US (if that's where you are) isn’t a majority black country and people usually want their kid to look like themselves, hence black gamete donations being less in demand. The blonde hair/blue eyes/tall preference is weird tho since white people don’t necessarily have those traits lol

But I don’t think stories like this are very encouraging to any queer couples who are potentially looking to use these sites for that reason, and it’s honestly a fucking bummer that something that could’ve been/is potentially beneficial for the community became a breeding ground for eugenics

those families have to reckon with a lot. not just participating in eugenicist white supremacy, but acknowledging that white privilege is what made it so easy to not even consider that they were taking part in eugenicist white supremacy, that their large family of blonde-haired blue-eyed children of the corn are the result of white supremacy. & privilege now, i'm in no way blaming the kids for that, they had no say in the matter, and sins of the father is very apt here. but i do think that the parents really need to look at their actions in the selection process and face what they did, because they're going to need to have answers for their kids. and the longer they keep the discussion of white supremacy out of it, the more opportunities there are for that white supremacy to spread.

Not necessarily. Black couples have complained because apparently attractive black men don't like to donate sperm.
Good grief... wouldn't black women also choose a Black man as a sperm donor with physically desirable traits? Christ give me a break
Yeah like I want to have a family in the bigger side myself and I don't give a damn about what the person looks like and etc. As long as they are a good person who I have things in common with and have similar parental ideals that's it, nothing else matters because I don't expect any kids I have to look a certain way
EDIT: Also to add it is infuriating how these parents are so picky in addition to their eugenics like why not just be happy that you can have a child at all, but noooo they have to engineer how their kid looks instead of accepting that they may have to put in effort into being good parents

You gon make me go down a rabbit hole.

Exactly because I thought I was the only one thinking "of all things to focus on, looks?"
@@achxo6340traits that look like one of the parents being raising the child, I could get.

I found myself both sympathizing with the mothers especially if the mixing of "fluids" without consent is disgusting. Yet, i was also wondering why the process they used made me uncomfortable and then after just a few googles i found out it was eugenics.

I had this thought too - like they don’t want the child or others to know they used a donor. But still
It doesn’t sound like production was blind to the racist/eugenist aspects, or they wouldn’t have kept bringing it up.

She doesn’t look anything like her family and always wondered why, but she looks like all of us!
whew girl the makeup is amazing
Ngl i thought we was talking about nick canon at firstv
Nah that’s foul 😭

36:34 The "glorious white seed" comment made me throw up in my mouth a little. Which could be oversharing... but then again, so was he.
i was 'euughhh godd he got to the SEA countries as well where i live fucking helllll' it's horrific
44:41 - "All exclusive trip for eugenics" is a hell of a book title. My gosh! what's wrong with people.🤮
It’s a good thing that so many of the moms found out so many of their kids were related to each other, not just because of how it allowed the lawsuit to happen, but also so their kids can know some of their siblings and have a community with each other. That being said, this whole situation just reveals how little regulation there is in the fertility industry and how this needs to be rectified with legislation in countries, and with correct oversight this wouldn’t have happened.
Oh my god! Kennie’s apartment has lights!? WTF!? I thought she was going for the brooding dark Batman thing!? 😜
1. Yeah the eugenics part I was banking on real fast
2. As a black man who for some random af reason was AGGRESSIVELY advertised to donate to the cryobank (and still is) you'd think they'd be more open to having black donors lol they were not
Well in a place like the Netherlands for sure. They probably request you for the blk patients...
idk if anyone remembers, but some years back there was actually a movie about a guy who i think donated a BUNCH of sperm and had a crap ton of kids. i think one of them found him and then he ended up trying to spend time with all of them. but it was supposed to be wholesome or something ? idk i only watched the trailer and i was like 8 or something
edit: it's called Delivery Man and it came out in 2013
Yess with the tall dude that's always with Owen Wilson! I remember that one
@@literaIIyshythis is the funniest way to describe Vince Vaughn
I did recently see an article about a man like this - I believe it was 20 kids and he indicated at the time of donation that he would love to be contacted by them when they were adults if that is what the children wanted. I don’t think he broke any rules and don’t think he sought out the kids once they were older, they came to him
I'm sorry but "may find themselves attracted to a person, thinking that they have a lot in common and what they have in common is DNA" THREW ME 😂😂😂
I dont want to downplay the clear eugenics vibe this whole story has but i do wanna give a little context that Jonathan fits the EXACT beauty type in the netherlands around the 90's so im not suprised they found him *that* attractive
Instead of getting an STD test we’re doin 23&Me babe 🤣
*also
What a great time to be alive!!!
🙃
Thank god! Queen uploaded JUST in time when I needed something to listen to to distract me from how much I hate cooking
I needed something to distract me from the chaos that is known as the US presidential election lmao. 😩
I hope, all his kids get together and sue him for damages. He ruined their lives.
Facts
Does he have a medical condition or did they decide that based on aesthetics alone?
@@p.a.681 they didn't tell him the exact reason why, but I assume it was a genetic issue
@@p.a.681a lot of men actually have a low sperm count and aren’t aware which is probably why
@@p.a.681If this was a regulated bank in the U.S., the guidelines are strict. Men have to be college-educated, tall, healthy, etc. in addition to passing psychological and genetic screening.
The fact that the doc had a lil segment gushing over Jonathan's hair was 💀💀 cuz I really wasn't seeing his appeal
Agreed, I think they did it to set up the whole lion thing later on, but it was kinda a lot
Hair was looking mad crunchy
@@GreenGorgeousnessbut does that matter when the children are raised by someone else
Sickening.
The way my jaw kept dropping throughout this, thank you for speaking on this
