- In this example we cover many collage mixed media techniques in one work of art. I've always been a Star Trek fan and when planning my original proper painting I instantly thought of this hand symbol. Thank you Leonard Nimoy.
The mixed media techniques used in this video are collage with gelli papers, fabric mosaic and using a Cricut Removable stencil to add a word to the artwork at the end.

I love the mosaic pattern but hate working with tile. Although I have done that. But it still makes a great pattern with paper or fabrics.

As with your PAUSE project, I note the lettering is cut off at the top. Any particular reason?
I get that question a lot. I started doing that about 8 or 9 years ago. My large painting have the letters all running off the top. When planning my Gossip painting I was working on the layout in photoshop and when I moved the text like that I knew instantly that was where it belonged. I'm also a graphic designer and that kind of alignment for Type is common. Not sure what school of design start that as a trend but back in the 1970's when I was an art director it was very common.
You also mentioned a package of stencils where can we purchase them …you said there many in the package and what company name? They simply beautiful and thank you so much for your expertise

Love this technique! Is there a reason you use fabric , instead of paper?
I didn't like the thickness of the inkjet paper. Then I started doing large art with custom printed fabric so I when I do one with words I continue to use the fabric. I love the texture it adds. It's just not the same with paper.
What is the plastic you use for your template if I may ask?

What are using for glue?❤
I use Liquitex gel medium. Any gel medium will do. Use the gloss. The matte one dulls the colors.
