I do have one magazine order but they are so exy in the US. They run 20 to 30 dollars they are pretty but....I have sort of found an alternative vintage Ideals magazines. I remembered them from my youth. I can get them for about 3 a piece. Really good for junk journaling.😊
Sorry for the late reply, just found your comment 😅 They are so expensive and I don't really like the articles that much - I would not pay full price for one just to cut it up 😆 I did initially buy one here and there for my Birthday treat but otherwise have been very lucky to find them secondhand. We don't have many of the Ideals around here but I have 3 in my bookcase and they are gorgeous ☺
Hello Nat-So happy I came across your channel ! I have been wanting to learn how do this type of journal for ages. Love your style ! Will be back for more. ❤ Take care 😊
Just subscribed to your channel. Love this great book you created, lol! I also watch Nina Ribena and I have wanted to do a Daphne‘s diary junk journal as well. Now I have two inspirations for mine you and Nina! Looking forward to seeing you fill yours up!
I love that. It is so beautiful. I did one similar and had the same bending of page by the elastic so I trimmed the height of the pages just a tad and it worked perfectly. I wonder if that would work for your pages? Anyhow great job. And you are fast! 😊
Thanks, only fast due to editing probably 😆 and a bit of planning - I am usually such a slow crafter😅. The pages are ok in this but yeah - I do forget to keep them shorter when putting eyelets in 🤣
Love the magazine Daphne's Diary, but its a little frustrating how long it takes to get here in the US, and then Barnes and Noble adds extra to the cost but they don't get it quicker than if you just subscribe and have it mailed to your house. Love the way your project turned out!
Sorry for the late response Ruth, I just found this comment 😅 They are so expensive and hard to find here too! I have been lucky to get a pile secondhand as I don't like paying full price just to cut them up. I am not really a fan of reading them as such 😆
I love DD and have a journal planned myself, I know Nina well and have watched her for quite a few years now as I'm a member of her fb group. She's going to make an Autumn/Winter DD journal soon as shes finished the spring summer one... I enjoyed watching it was interesting to see how you did it, I loved all the lace 💖💖😁
I turned to this as I was fussy cutting up my latest Daphne's Diary -- realized I am here listening to cicadas and birds planning to turn on the AC and you are there in a heavy shirt with probably your heat going! Cosmopolitan ladies are we!
You put that together pretty quick Nat, it looks great. I like the cover and how you covered up the words on the spine you didn’t want. I’ll store that idea in my memory bank x
I was determined with this one Emily 😆 really wanted to get to the fun part! I wasn't sure how the gesso would go but it worked really well, I will have to try mixing paint in and using on coloured covers in future 🙂
Thanks Sue. I have done a few pages in it, mind you I am no expert 😅 but really enjoy it when I find time. I have a gluebook playlist here: ruclips.net/video/yLgrKYMuDos/видео.html
Thanks for this Nat! I watched Janette's video too but as I have no DD mags I think I have a Frankie mag so might try this and check out Nina's channel. Hope to find a place to follow that does NOT require a You Tube channel!!
Hi Carol, I was thinking about this before actually! Will message you later as I do have an idea about it :) Just need to finish cooking spag bol first (once I have bandaged the tip of my finger that I grated off 😂)
Yep Deb, hat elastic is so far my favourite to do this with and easy to find in the supermarket even (except at the onset of COVID 😅) I hope you do have a go, the colours and fun of finding bits and pieces just makes me happy 😄
Hi, I use Helmar glue. Their 450 or fabric glue is the clear stuff I am using, then I also use their Tacky Craft Glue in a little fine-tip applicator bottle for finer details and adding sheer lace etc as it dries clear. It's available here if you want to check it out www.helmarworldwide.com/shop/art-and-general-craft/manufacturer/helmar.html 🌻
Thank you for this video, it has inspired me to make one 🌺😊
Oh yes do! It was so much fun and it is such a bright and cheery book to play in. Must drag it out again soon and do another page or two ☺
Lovely ❤
Thanks, must drag it out and do a page sometime soon :)
Thank you for your ideas.
You are very welcome! Sorry I just found this comment 😅☺

This was really interesting Nat, I’ve got a few Daphne’s diary magazines so will give this a go. Did you just use hat elastic. 😊

Hello from tassie. What glue are you using? Helmar?
Sorry, just saw this comment 😅 I tend to use Helmars - either the fabric or 450 glues.
What glue do you use
