Hopefully those who haven't had the privilege of discovering the"Blues" just yet, will be turned on to it. It's a wonderful genre. SRV revived the Blue's, and made it come back to life. I know what you mean brasslamp, I miss his music so much. Imagine if he was still alive! Punk/Hardcore/Emo wouldn't have taken over; it would still be the good music on the radio!
I heard Double Trouble with Joe Bonamassa in Colorado. They killed it, for real. SRV knew what he had. That kick - that bass - and Reese Wynans on the keyboards was just a monster BuhhLoooooze foundation. You couldn't help but feel SRV's fingers in the pie. Unforgettable.
How awesome to see an outrageously talented guy own his problems, grab his demons & conquer them. This was a great loss. It must be really nice to have people that actually support you & stay by your side instead of abandoning them & betraying them----and then spreading horrible rumors about you. Time brings out the truth though---maybe not today or tomorrow or next week, but in time, everything comes out.

Especially back in those days, pre- NATO. Wouldn't put it past SRV to joke that the Russians will probably bomb us before we hit the stage. It's too safe now, or is it
Kenny has a singer most times. He feels it in his guitar, that's clear. But someone else does the vocals. Some tracks are beautiful and strong. (Blue on Black....) SRV was a single conduit; the guitar AND the vocal. It's a tidal wave of expression that sweeps you up and carry you along. Sitll, some people aren't so hot on him. It's OK though, isn't it?

He was totally humble about who he was and laid a lot of what he could do on a foundation of the Blues giants, Hendrix and all the players that make Blues a powerful fraternity. Some people aren't crazy about the Blues. But it's OK. We're fine.
One thing that really blows me away about SRV, is not only is he one of the greatest guitar players, theres only a handful of virtuosos that can do that
There will never be another Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix etc. Just as there will never be another SRV. Got to respect all of those that are influenced by him to keep some good music coming. Remember Same Place I Was At When Heard !!! Summer Of 89 Was At Alpine For The Dead For 3 Dayz, & Skipped A Day & Saw The Who !!! All 4 Show"s During Late Afternoon I Would Stair At That Man Made Ski Slope 1/4 Mile Behind The Stage, & Could Not Believe Early 90 I Heard The New"s !!!! Not A Good Day !!!... B. Safe....Peace
I always miss him.
Don't forget to give his brother credit, Stevie learned a lot from him
SRV is da man! His music will keep him alive for ever!
Man I have been at it over 20 years, still don't get close to this man on guitar.
I'm sure SRV would say: "Cool, Blues Man. Just have at it." Be you. That's how the Blues rolls. Our influences bring us Joy we express in vocals and instruments. RIght?
I saw SRV n double trouble in upstate NY summer of 85 at Blues Fest. Incredible up close, RIP.
That tone at 3:55 is larger than life. I’ve listened to a lot of music and guitarists and never heard anything like that!
He was the most incredible guitar slinger there ever was.
Thick strings, tons of gain and Stevies insane attack 💪
Yep! He was divinely blessed with very strong hands & fingers, especially considering his smaller stature. Perfectly formed…to grip and strum…❤🎉
Willie the Wimp was buried today,
They laid him to rest in a special way.
Sent him off in the finest style
That casket-mobile really drove 'em wild
Southside Chicago will think of him often
Talkin' 'bout Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin,
Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
That casket, it looked like a fine Seville
He had a vanity license and a Cadillac grille
Willie was propped up in the driver's seat
He had diamonds on his fingers and a smile sweet
Fine red suit had the whole town talkin'
Talkin' 'bout Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Oh, Cadillac to Heaven he was wavin' the banner
He left like he lived, in a lively manner
With a-hundred dollar bills in his fingers tight
He had flowers for wheels and a-flashin' headlights
He been wishin' for wings, no way he was walkin'
Talkin' 'bout Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Yeah, Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Life without you , Stevie Ray vaughan
Purple is mah color. I just heard an Iowa band with a singer on this song, who just didn't cut it. No amount of good guitar could save it either. This Stevie person was thee Texas blooze.
Every time I listen to or watch Stevie, I want to go play my guitar and get better. Guess I need to watch during the day when my wife isn't asleep!
Brilliant is this one wauwwwww he was such a great one,
I have GREAT taste in music....The man, NO myth, And ALL legend...SRV..
einer der besten gitarrenspieler,impulsiv,gefühlvoll feeling
inspiriert noch heute musiker auf der ganzen welt.....good by Stevie Ray
I Love SRV ...I Like The Vid .
One of my favorite guitar players. Bad mother
I loved this man. I saw him 3 times. His voice was so special, and the way he played his guitar!!! RIP SRV
I know what you mean brasslamp, I miss his music so much. Imagine if he was still alive! Punk/Hardcore/Emo wouldn't have taken over; it would still be the good music on the radio!
I come back to this clip regularly, it's a great source of inspiration.
Talented beautiful humble funny there will never be another SRV GOAT
Congratulations Stevie & Double Trouble on making the Rock & Roll hall of Fame...

Hey , It's called keeping Stevie alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 18, 2015
I heard Double Trouble with Joe Bonamassa in Colorado. They killed it, for real. SRV knew what he had. That kick - that bass - and Reese Wynans on the keyboards was just a monster BuhhLoooooze foundation. You couldn't help but feel SRV's fingers in the pie. Unforgettable.
@@terrylodercreative Yea, Chris Layton is with Kenny Wayne Shepard too. I saw KWS!
Let's face it , that was as easy to figure out as anything !!
Will always be a fan of SRV!
There will never be anyone better than SRV.
Everytime i watch Stevie, it still feels like as though i will soon be able to see him live. You touched many peoples lives Stevie. God rest your soul. Love you SRV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The greatest ever...
SRV IS THIS GREATEST Guitar player I ever saw , need i say more..RIP SRV,nothing but love...pure Texan
The BEST guitar player
this is what i love about stevie.... every song is played like its the final song ever.
i just saw kenny wayne last week in morristown nj. and it was missing this kind of passion.
I haven't seen Kenny since before he married Mel Gibson's daughter. Sad to hear he lost the passion. Heh? Heh?
Jeffrey Raney Hah! I see what you did there!
It's OK though, isn't it?
never met ya, i was born in 95 but i miss ya like no other
One of my favorite songs Stevie did.
I ,sadly, never met him but he is my Inspiration for every day I play guitar... I miss him! he died just a few weeks before I was born... I hope I play a good tribute guitar... I would give anything, if he could hear the song, that I wrote for him...
Heaven called another Bluesstringer back home...
Rest in Peace Stevie!
We all miss you!
Almost superhuman chops on the guitar, an uncanny ability to write songs, and that voice - he was talented beyond description.
Sometimes I ask God if we can have him back if we agree to give up Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and all the Kardashian's...
He can have all parppers too
Betcha Stevie would say there's room for both. We all like what we like. Simple deal really, right?

Stevie Ray Vaughan the legend of blue's and Rock n roll..guitar legend and great vocalist..great band..what a performance and concerts were phenominal..never be another SRV..U are missed SRV
He was totally humble about who he was and laid a lot of what he could do on a foundation of the Blues giants, Hendrix and all the players that make Blues a powerful fraternity. Some people aren't crazy about the Blues. But it's OK. We're fine.
Just the best solo and guitarist ever… PERIOD RIP STEVIE👍👍🙏🙏
One thing that really blows me away about SRV, is not only is he one of the greatest guitar players, theres only a handful of virtuosos that can do that
There will never be another Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix etc. Just as there will never be another SRV. Got to respect all of those that are influenced by him to keep some good music coming. KWS, John Mayer, Joe Bonnamassa, all profess the influence that the greats including had on them. Just watch their interviews. There's no argument.
Stevie was definitely the master of guitar. Drummer was grreat
Scot Summerfield Chris Leyton
Chris is now the drummer for Kenny Wayne Shepard
