All of them are awesome... just like JLV, Robben Ford, Scott Henderson, Buddy Guy, Keb' Mo, The Kings (B.B., Freddy) , The Alberts (Collins, King) i could go on forever... These are people at the same level!! And if you can't get that, there is no reason for you to listen to music... think about that.
I saw Stevie 8 times live, I am one lucky mofo. This is a great example of Stevie. Stevie was like a Prism, down came the blues and Stevie turned it into music for all to enjoy.
2022,still going on with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble..a great blue's and rock n roll musician and has never stopped ...A great guitar player and that guitar knows no harm at all..on his way in leading that lamb without a turn..Great in every performance and can entertain until you fall asleep..RIP Stevie..You've earned it..missing the great musician of our time..
Stevie Ray Vaughan, one of the most gifted man with an electric guitar and sings and plays like no tomorrow on a stage with Double Trouble band members..Stevie sings blue's and rock n roll, the best there is..Taken in death at a young age on a helicopter crash..RIP Stevie..still listening in 2022..
I was lucky; I saw him from the front row in the summer of 1989. After a steady diet of metal concerts throughout the 80's I was unprepared for what I heard that night. Nearly 20 years later I can still hear his guitar; the volume was ungodly yet he played with a precision and control I'd never seen, seemingly unfazed by the storm he was unleashing. It was too cool.
You think you have seen most of Stevie`s amazing guitar playing then you come across this, truly awesome guitar work. Thanks for posting this. The man was, is , and always will be be one of the Greatest players that has ever lived. Rock on Stevie....
Something that I have noticed with so many SRV live shows is how much fun not only SRV is having, but the guys are also immensely enjoying themselves. When you love what you do, especially with Stevie, what's not to enjoy….RIP Stevie, keep’em smilin'!
SENSATIONAL..never gets OLD! Times might change but..music doesn't when it's at its BEST...Stevie Ray Vaughan was born to bring us the greatest sound of music and song that could be invented and ever would be..Thank you Stevie..love your music..Your a HIT..wow
You know, this simply is art …and music is an art form, and SRV looks quite happy playing and performing in the amazing way he does. And, if you don't like it… move on. There are plenty of other incredible performances by SRV to entertain you. peace
Man, I would give anything to have been around then... just for one concert. I wish someone was around now that could produce half the icy cold chill Stevie gave out every time he touched his guitar. RIP Stevie
No matter how you look @ it SRV had musicianship that was 2nd to no one. We tend to over look just what the ear hears and not recognize what the heart has put into it. His contribution to music is astonishing to me. Happy playin' everyone.
Who the hell would have thought that grown adults would be listening to a song called Mary had a Little Lamb? Stevie could have made the itsy bitsy spider a number 1 hit! So Gooooood.
Watch me trip on these cords on the floor and injure my head..Stevie Ray Vaughan a great strat player and solo singer..Double Trouble does great..Stevie always entertains the best and never gets tired of performing for his fans..Love listening to Stevie
At 3:00 he really lit the fuse. The guy had an uncanny sense of timing along with the ability to live in the moment with his music to the exclusion of all else and could do so like flipping a switch. Never seen anyone who could fall in and out of the trance with such ease. I consider myself so fortunate to iive in a time so rich with talent and with such access being only a few keystrokes away.
I've seen a lot of SRV, but this is one of the very best performances in my opinion. Stevie gets all his licks out here, and over the years this song grew into a great platform for his whole band to improvise on. I do think Stevie played his best from 88' onwards, the band was revitalised and tighter than ever. Thanks a lot for posting this!!!
I'm 17 and I've been listening to Stevie for a year to a year and a half now. His music is something that I'm glad I've discovered; and as I dug deeper into Stevie as a person I discovered that he was surely one hell of a person. He's also one of the biggest influences in keeping me away from drugs and alcohol, because of what he went through and what he preached. And to schecter4454, Studioforce sucks ass, their so overrated it's not even funny
The Hendrix upside down neck is pure SRV GREAT showmanship....the song is perfect......and in my humble opinion SRV is still a Blues God...I hate to promo someone on this site....but there is a rising blues guitar player in Florida....Patrick Farinas is a Monster...
at 6:39 you can see the sweat dripping off of him from the heat of his pure awesomeness. If it were me there, at 6:39 you would have seen drool dripping from me. Absolutely incredible how he breathes life and soul into single notes!
Now this will make you all jealous. I have the SRV live album with an AAA backstage pass stuck to it. I saw him twice over here in the UK and got to meet him backstage, unfortunately he was out of his tree and had to be helped along the line of us and I was unable to get his autograph on the album. Got the rest of the band to sign it though, but shucks, what a missed opportunity. He was brilliant though and I wouldn't have missed it
This version is a different style than i have heard previously. Maybe it was a direction musically he was heading before he died. Long live Stevie. I have a small conection with Stevie. My daughter was born on the day he died.
Great comments everyone. You're right about the guitar sounding thin and right again that he could play a broom and make it sound good :) SRV...you are truly missed in this world but somewhere there's one hell of a band jamming!
The guitar that you see in this video is "Red", a 62 Fender Sunburst that Stevie had repainted in Fender Fiesta Red. Stevie was hard on his instruments. His primary guitar "Number One" had been re-fretted so many times that he could no longer have it re-fretted. He had the neck taken off of "Red" and installed on "Number One." He then bought a replacement left hand neck and had it installed on "Red." This is the guitar that you see here....
Excellent Vaughann vid, thanks gaukur! But how about those MC Hammer pants, waist coat, and Sam Kinison hat! Its seems the more freakish Stevie dressed, the better he played. Maybe I should try that.
Beato chi c'era ragazzi!! Sono nato dopo maledizione!!
All of them are awesome... just like JLV, Robben Ford, Scott Henderson, Buddy Guy, Keb' Mo, The Kings (B.B., Freddy) , The Alberts (Collins, King) i could go on forever... Stevie was like a Prism, down came the blues and Stevie turned it into music for all to enjoy.
Eric Clapton called him an "Open Channel" to the music
💯 agree! This time period was a BEST
I wish I could play like him.

From what I saw he improvised from night to night, never playing the song quite the same way twice. A great artist by any measure.
where has THIS version been all these years? fan-freaking-tastic.
wow, that is so good
he can play smooth, he play rough
but his tone is out of this world
SRV had it all, ability and style, and especially Atitude,he was only with us for a short while but left fantastic tunes, thanks SRV, RIP
Stevie Ray Vaughan, one of the most gifted man with an electric guitar and sings and plays like no tomorrow on a stage with Double Trouble band members..Stevie sings blue's and rock n roll, the best there is..Taken in death at a young age on a helicopter crash..RIP Stevie..still listening in 2022..

the best version of mary had a little lamb ever. Stevie puts all his soul in it
This is the best version I know. A million thanks
Music will always miss SRV. Every note he played was from his heart and soul. An unique musician and guitarist. Respect

He didn't even know how good he was. Way ahead of his time. Such an awesome improvisation when his hat slipped. He didn't miss a beat. RIP SRV
SENSATIONAL..never gets OLD! Times might change but..music doesn't when it's at its BEST...Stevie Ray Vaughan was born to bring us the greatest sound of music and song that could be invented and ever would be..Thank you Stevie..love your music..Your a HIT..wow
I'm starting to appreciate Reese's keyboardin' much more. Although I do love the early stuff, Double Trouble got so much better once Reese joined
one of the best srv......marvellous..he was in italy!!standing ovation men!!
Brilliant playing and awesome fashion sense.
You know, this simply is art …and music is an art form, and SRV looks quite happy playing and performing in the amazing way he does. And, if you don't like it… move on. There are plenty of other incredible performances by SRV to entertain you. peace
Wow, what a version. Up since 2006 and I haven't heard this. It's got that lovely jazzy, funky glassy edge only Stevie could do. Thanks for this one.
it just amazes me how easy he makes it look his right just flows with the music... how good can he be he is the best
RIP SRV
Reese is the end of all keyboard solos. and dude, stevie's smile just gets me everytime. legends never die. we love you stevie
Happy birthday SRV, amazing talent, gone too soon.
Man, I would give anything to have been around then... just for one concert. I wish someone was around now that could produce half the icy cold chill Stevie gave out every time he touched his guitar. RIP Stevie

Happy playin' everyone.
SRV = one with the guitar. Such a great loss for all of us in August, 1990.
SRV&DT at their most playful - this is joyous - thanks for sharing!
I can't believe it's already been 20 years that he's been good. We sure lost a legend. No other guitarist like him. RIP SRV.

Pensa che oggi sulla stessa rete fa l'isola dei famosi...Stevie si sta rivoltando nella tomba ;)

This is a huge part of why i love guitar
Very cool and funky-something you might hear in a small Texas blues club. Got to dig the Sam Kinison look.
lovin' the keyboard, too! And Chris and Tommy - of course... :)
Excellent Vaughann vid, thanks gaukur! But how about those MC Hammer pants, waist coat, and Sam Kinison hat! Its seems the more freakish Stevie dressed, the better he played. Maybe I should try that.
That was slick how he entered the solo after the last verse! And lets' not forget the really long vibrato! U no wut i'm talkin' about!
Veramente immenso.. Come mi manca!!!!
Pure Gold !!!
