I think the main reason they dont get stolen is because nobody buys parts for them or wants them for that matter. Most cars that get stolen are parted out.
Doesn't have anything to do with the fact that they are so connected, camera's everywhere and easily trackable? Model Y is the best selling car in the world so you'd imagine parts would be sort after for repairs etc
Actually Model S and X get stolen quite a lot because of their drive units and batteries. Model 3 and why doesn't have interesting battery modules like S and X
its because those thiefs who have low IQ, they dont really vibe with telas much and they are trackable and have cameras so they are scared. This seems to be major reason why they are least targeted
@@RyanCowanboth things can be true. It’s a car with cameras and security all over it that you won’t even be able to take apart later, since Tesla parts are Tesla specific they’re useless to most people. High risk low reward.
There was a posted video in the telsa groups of a car gotten broken to hacked but luckily the would be thief did not manage to drive off because for some unknown reason did not know to how or manage to dislodge the charging port
Ryan, I’ll give you a score of 100%, because all of the cars with self presenting door handles make it blatantly obvious when the door are unlocked which makes you a prime target for car jacking. I was next to a Rivian truck today and all of its door handles that I could see were unlocked, so brink in the thieves!
Who wants a car with no dashboard, poor paint and poor fit & finish, and you have to spend hours charging the battery? No wonder they don't get stolen.

not every one can hack a tesla but people can write programs and devices to allow the average person to steal a tesla. When that happens then teslas being a connected device will be easy to steal for any one.

Can’t forget the pin to drive as well, really handy feature that helps with security
And you never hear about their catalytic convertors being stolen.

It's because they're recording you before you even open the door, bright spark.

I’d imagine because of Tesla’s limited parts availability, these would do great as part outs.

It shows that even car thieves have common sense. And agree that EV’s are shite.
Having very little desirability among thieves is a positive to me. Tesla's are among the most sold cars in the world for a reason.

I don't know where you're from guy but you're wrong. It's the Honda Civic according to data from Jan 2024. Tesla's aren't even in the top 10.
