We needed this so much time ago! Developer video tutorial isn't as good as this one. I bought AE two months ago but I haven't used it, but right now I'm activating it again thanks to you.
diddo! :-) I feel the same way, Roberto.
Thanks Roberto. Good to hear!
Very valuable informative video.
I have had serious issues about setting up blogpage on my website, with a blogtemplate. Now I know.
Thanks Dave.
As on FB: this one as your previous videos is a blast! Thanks a lot for putting your wisdom out so streamlined and easy to follow. Much love!!
My pleasure brother. I love making them! Thanks so much for your support and encouragement Hannes. It means a lot to me.
Perfect timing, Dave. I've just started a project that required this solution. Cheers!
Nice one Joel! Good to see you here too. :)
2 years later, same. I was just looking for this...
Thank you. With elegant, effective, result, for me. I also appreciate the way you teach.
Wow! Loved your tutorial ❤️ and how you explained all the details 🤓 Thanksss sooo much for sharing!
thank you very much, it is the best video i have seen so far with regard to making blogs, using gp, elmentor, and AE.
Thank you Mark. I'm really pleased you liked.
Wow, very powerful!! I can save so much time with this skill
Thank you man for this video ! Very helpful !
You're the BEST, Dave!!
Thanks for a great tutorial. I find the pace comfortable and clarity of instruction very helpful.
Thank you Nicholas. That makes me happy!
Very nice... went for my PDF copy
Anywhere Elementor Pro is a must have for Single Blog posts when using Elementor Pro as your page builder. perfect!
Yes sir!
Thank you man. You saved my life :D
Hi Dave,
It was a great video! I have been using Elementor for a long time, and I think your video will be a great help in designing a single post template. I have been thinking about this project for a long time, and with your process, I will be able to design my project. Thanks a lot for sharing this amazing process. It was a great tutorial, and it will help me a lot. I will definitely be sharing this video within my network to help others out as well.
Man... You're THE GUY... Thanks A LOT!!!
Thank you Renatho. :)
Thanks a lot, very helpfull
Dave you make learning easy! This video is a blast!
Thanks man!
Thank you for everything. I did it.
Great to hear!
Thanks, very good info here.
Nice.Thank you.
awesome video ... need to buy :)
Thank you soooooo much, this was especially helpful!!
Pleasure. Don't forget that you can create single post templates in Elementor Pro now (if you have it). Although AE Pro is still more advanced in terms of features.
Thank you! Don't forget that nowadays you can also create a single post template in Elementor Pro.
Just purchased GeneratePress Pro and Elementor Pro to build my own WP site... so following you like a hawk :-)
Ha haa! Excellent. I hope I can help. Good luck on your journey - they are both truly awesome WordPress tools. :)
Another killer tutorial. Thank you !
Thank you! Again! :) I really appreciate your support. :D
You are very Welcome !
Top stuff Dave, as usual. Thank you.
Thanks Rip!
Thank you so much.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Dave! Another excellent tuturial and it is filling in some of the gaps I didn't quite get about AE Pro... haven't used it at all yet. Instead I just manually updated about 50 posts pages of the same layout... arrgh! :-) Oh well... you live and learn. Greatly appreciated this video.
Thank YOU Monika. :D I was a bit worried about spending so much time at the start explaining why anyone would even care about the single post template, but actually I'm glad I did. Looks like you've definitely seen first-hand how it can be applied. :) #ouch
Yup! So, can I create a template and retroactively apply it to all the posts with the same layout, Dave?
Yes you can. However, for all those pages you've manually designed and built with Elementor (by clicking Edit with Elementor), you'll have to revert each one back to using the standard WordPress editor. I think. best to try it with one page/post first and see what happens.
Okay... I'll try it out. Thanks for the 'heads up'... so appreciate what you do, Dave.
Hi there! Thanks for the videos you posted. It's handy pretty much. ONE QUESTION: 4:17 related to this part of the video.
What kind of plugin allows to keep show/hide control over Wardpress layouts? SUCH AS: sidebar layouts, page and postpage layouts, enable / disable elements opage and so on.
OR it might be related to some specific WP Theme only and does not work with any other themes?
Your early reply will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hello and thank you for a wonderful tutorial! I am having a small problem that I would appreciate some help with. I have created a post template as per your instructions and it looks great. The problem is that when I click on my “written articles” button on my menu it does not show the template I created. It shows the standard boring post page. I assumed that the post template would replace the boring page? Could you please provide me with instructions to make my template appear as the page? I assume that all future posts would then go to this template page and be entered into my “post cards” format? I’m sure it does not matter, but I am building the website via local host. Thank you very much for your help and for providing excellent tutorials!
Thanks for this video, it very helpful, because I can't find the same in my native language. :)
And I have a question. This buttons in AE Templates area is available only in Pro version? Because I'm trying free version and I can't find any button from this addon.
Hey man... Great video. You have put an amazing information here. Thank you. I have a quick question. I want to create a Post Template for a small realstate Agent. They just want to upload new listing and few more Images. Do you know how can I created a Image gallery for my post template?
Nice work!
Thanks Tom!
Hi Dave,
Thanks for that great video tutorial.
I am starting to create Customer Post Types (for team members, portfolios, services, etc.), currently using PODS and I am wondering, if Anywhere Elementor Pro would also work with CPTs (especially PODS created ones). I don't have Anywhere Elementor Pro and can't check and am wondering how I could pull the custom fields into Elementor when creating the post template. I am aware that PODS has it's own templates, but I rather style my PODS/CPTs with a template created with Elementor.
Thanks,
alex
Omg thank you. I was trying to figure this out in Elementor forever. I even asked questions under their post layout video and they were not very helpful.
No worries! Easy when you know how. :)
hi Dave, very nice video. how do i change the text color using color pallete? i don't see the color pallete in the text editor
Hey Dave, thanks for the video, it helped me a lot designing my template for blog posts.
However I faced a problem after I implemented on some of my blog posts.
My jquery plugin (which shows Pin It button on images upon hover) stopped working on my blog posts. I did not apply this template to all posts, those which I did not apply still works normal as usual.
Do you have any idea what is causing this? Thanks a lot for your reply!
Can I do the same process with the posts body, but also the header for the posts? I want my blog posts headers to have a totally separate look from my main page. I am currently using Yellow Pencil Pro to edit the headers of each blog posts (which is annoying to do EVERY post). And I do general editing of pages/posts with WPBakery
Hi, Thanks for such an informative tutorial. I have created a single post template with 3 columns and the last column for banners. But when I open the individual post and edit with elementor to place the banner on the right side, it is not showing the third column. I have also checked the conditions and it is set to all posts. Please advise. Thanks
Hey Dave great tutorial, Thanks. One doubt though - "How is it different from Elementor Pro??"
hi , great video! What I run into it, that a post need to have a few images attached to it, these are construction projects and each have 4-10 images. I use Elementor PRO and want to rely on it if it is possible.... I am building a Single Post template , and can pull the featured image, but how do I assign a widget or a dynamic are to pull the appropriate images for the actual post. So instead of showing the featured image of the post I would need a gallery, but each post would have it's own 4-5 images... I hope this make sense. Please let me know if you can suggest something...
Great tutorial as always! Is it possible to make a similar post template with a video instead of an image?
its a great tutorial. but i wonder if it is applicable with the repeater plugin?
Hi Dave, is there a way to put editable textbox? For example, I want to set "read time" for every post manually, is that possible?
Hi Dave, I have made a template exactly like yours but I am using OceanWP. 1st Problem is, that I cannot override the themes Header defaults from Transparent to Minimal. It keeps on showing a transparent header. Nr. 2 In Elementor it shows the Title, even turned off but not on the live page, which is okay. But the content remains boxed and stuck on the left side even if i turn the theme settings to Full width. Funny, except of the title still appearing within Elementor my template just looks fine. ;)
Hi Dave
Nice work (just requested your 1 page sheet)!
It help me a lot to understand the interaction between AE Pro and Elementor Pro then I know now how I can organize my work for my website :)
Question please as you mentioned it do you plan to do a video with adding Pods in this workflow for instance?
Hey Bruno - thanks! Yes, at some point I will do, definitely. :)
Thanks. One problem I have is that I have added 2 post content widgets in the single post template but only see one when editing then a post. Any help evtl please? Regards
Coolio as usual!
BTW - I'd love to know more how to customize the Post Navigation!
It looks like AE has a PostNav widget... It's such a important part of WP posts but is somehow doesn't get any attention.
For me, I usually want the Post-Nav to stay in 1or more categories, loop at end, and sometimes place it above the content (either to the right of the post title or just above or below the title, and sometimes just 2 nav arrows or simply prev - next)... etc.
So super video
I have a question about adjusting the screens for responsive mode. If I have made everything to your liking in the desktop and then switch to a mobile or tablet, you can make adjustments with regard to the layout of the screen, eg reduce the photo. If I then update the adjustments and then switch back to the desktop screen, I see to my amazement that the changes have also been implemented there, that was not the intention. Does this change only work in the pro version of Elementor or do I make a fallacy?
Awsome. My main site is a Drupal site, but I have a small one that I thought would be easy with wordpress. Your tutorial just gave me the flexibility I need to do what I want and need to do. I cannot thank you enough.
That's great to hear!
Hi Dave. I designed a saved template to use for all my blogging. Well, it has been almost a year since I posted two blogs from this template and I totally can not figure out how to do it.
So, I have all the info in the template. I want to assign it to my Blog under training and set it up to publish it properly. I also use Yoast so not sure if that matters. Please help!
Thanks a lot
You're very very welcome!
It will help me a lot building one large website of my client. Which has so many things to do.. custom templates, 5 CPT and its templates
Great tutorial. I wonder the way of creating a single portfolio post template using elementor + pods + anywhere elementor pro. i tried hard to get the template but i couldn,t manage to include a pics gallery, its frustrating¡!
Which custom fields you talking about at 2:45 with ACF?
Hi, how to make the AE Post Template be a default for the future posts and how to batch setting the old posts?
Awesome!!!
Thanks man.
Always when I need know something about elementor, I visit your chanel. Congrats for this video.
Great video! Can you make or do you have a more advanced tutorial using ACF Pro with CPTs?
It's on my list Nicholas.
Excellent! Looks like I'll get Anywhere Elementor Pro. I did not know it gVe Elementor this much capability.
Can you show us how to do grid post layout with the featured image as a background like in news sites?
Thanks.
Thanks Romeo! I'll pop it on my list.
I was wondering how to use that Anywhere plugin! Thanks. Does the free version have similar options or is it very minimal.
The free version literally just gives you shortcodes for Elementor templates. Great if you don't have Elementor Pro. But it doesn't do anything else.
Thanks, I might try it on a new site. Love the elementor videos you do, they help me a lot.
That's really nice to hear, thank you!
I am unable to find disable elements setting in AE ?
How can I enable it?
Thankyou
Thanks for the video! Can you export and link the template you created?
with the free version of elementor is possible create a custom template for single post? thanks you
is there a way to put the featured image just in the main blog feed but that it doesn't appear in the actual blog post? btw thank you so much for your videos!
just follow the video, but without placing the featured image...
Yes, if you don't put the featured image into the template (meaning, AE Pro's Post Image widget) then it just won't appear in the single post view. But it will still appear in your theme's blog archive listing - at least by default anyway.
And thank you! I love making videos. :)
Question. What if I want multiple templates and I want them to be selected based on user input? I.e. If I create a dropdown selection list so when a user submits a post, and they select a subject in the dropdown (lets say "monkeys") and I have a specific "monkey post" layout, that custom layout will be used for the data. I could use the dropdown list as a category, and the single post template is chosen based on post category. If a user selects "cheetah", then the custom "cheetah" layout I built will be used.
Any way to do this?
is there a way to apply the single blog post template to previous blog posts?
Hi Dave, thanks for another great tutorial.
A quick question for yourself and others. Is anyone having issues with the images in post content not centering? I followed your tutorial and created a nice template layout, but when I apply it to my posts the images left justify while everything else is centred - despite being centred in the wordpress editor. Im using GeneratePress, but have never had this sort of issue before.
Also, is there any way in the current version to apply a template to an entire category, or is it a case of having to go to each individual post?
So turns out there is a bug in the current version of the plugin, but it’s easily fixed by a bit of custom css and will be addressed in the next update. Excellent (and fast) support from the developer as well.
what font type did you used in the demo site? also after you have setup the custom post template I would presume that you can still use elementor to style the content itself of the post? I prefer to use Elementor to build my blog posts instead of the WP default editor. Thanks for the video!
Hi Razvan. I used Lato in the demo - it's a Google font.
And yes, you can still use Elementor to build/design the blog post, but also use the single post template. When you use Elementor, you're really just using the main body content field - just with extra bells and whistles. :)
Design Build Web - For Non-Coder Designers thank you!
nice vid. can you pls show how to create a blog page layout template in grid style? thx!
Do you need AnyWhere Elemntor pro or does the free version work t he same? I don't see where I can set the render settings on the free version.
You need Pro, my friend.
How did you do the first part of the video with Wordpress that you did not explain?
How about customising the colour of the headings in the post?
Hi your videos are amazing!
I want to ask you if there is any way of add post comments to the single post page. Because as I have seen in lots of tutorials nobody uses the comments.
Thank you!
You can now with Elementor Pro's new single post widgets, they have a comments widget that works great for this.
Thanks Dave!
Thanks for this video.. But the AE free version gives me a Content Not Found Error when I try to edit the template with Elementor. I Am using Ocean WP Theme. I created my Static Home page with Elementor but unable to edit the blog posts with the same. Is any workaround with AE PRO??
You'd have to ask AE Pro support about this.
Its ok I figured out. If I make the Template Set to Elementor Canvas/Full Width the editing in Elementor gives an Error. Keeping it to Default Template did the trick :) Thanks anyway.
Oddly enough this only works for me when I have elementor Canvas enabled on my posts but then my header is removed as that's a native theme header, I'm using the Tesseract theme though haven't had an issue with using elementor anywhere else.
is t possible to add a sidebar to these templates? I have been trying for hours.
How to write someone's name after date display.
My post is showing uncategorised
Great video! One issue, though. When I try the image drop shadow it shows up on the image container, not the image itself. Maybe I'm doing something inccorectly?
Yes that's because you're adding the drop shadow to the image widget. You'll see the drop shadow setting is also in the style tab too. That one affects the image itself.
when i insert the post content i get a scroll below all the text are not justifie, i tried justification but didn't work, how to remove the scroll from the post content.
Hi, what plugin are you using to disable elements? Thank you
Can you remind me which elements I disable please? Sorry, this video was a while ago. :)
Hi Dave, I am new to Elementor and I love your video tuts - I realise it would be a lot of work, but would it be possible to update some of the videos to reflect the changes to Elementor?. For example, I don't think there is a AE anymore, so how do I apply your tut to the current version of Elementor (I am on Elementor Pro)?
Sorry for very late reply. AE Pro is still a thing (www.elementoraddons.com/anywhere-elementor-pro/) and very very good. But to do this single post template is easy now in Elementor Pro. You create a new single post template in Templates > Theme Builder, and create a new single post template from there. Add in the various dynamic widgets for post title and post content, then when you save you set the Display Conditions to be for single posts.
I think that's also possible with the free pligin stylepress, but stylepress is a bit complicated . The problem about stylepress is that there aren't any tutorials on it . Do you have plans to make a tutorial on stylepress some day, or is it a bad plug-in?
Hi Simon. Yes, you /could/ do this with StylePress. Problem is, I think only the developer himself really understands how to use StylePress. :) And it hasn't been updated or maintained in a while now. David (the developer) hasn't been active in the Elementor Facebook group either. So I haven't really paid much attention to it. I'd hoped it would be refined, improved, developed but it doesn't seem so. A shame, cos the idea has promise.
I have an up to date version of Wordpress but when I click 'Add New in the AE Templates there is no 'Disable Elements' or 'Page Builder Container' sections on the right hand side. The page looks very different.
What theme are you using, Tony?
does one create an archive first then a post? Love our videos:)
Hi, I recently purchased and downloaded Anywhere elemenator and followed your directions on how to build a single post page. However, I immediately had problems because all settings under GENERAL are different, and there aren't any setting showing in my side bar.
I worked my way thru setting up a page thats ready to be published but can't get it work as the settings you show don't exist on my screen. HELP
You mean this plugin here? www.elementoraddons.com/anywhere-elementor-pro/
Its very hard to say what the problem is Kim. You'd be best contacting AnyWhere Elementor Pro support, the developer is very helpful. He's the best guy to help you figure out what's happening on your site. Hope you get it sorted soon.
I have a quick question, i just got all of these plugins, i created a template, but when i import that template into a different blog post, it imports all of my other blog posts text and images?
Hey Brad. Best to ask AnyWhere Elementor Pro support for help, they're really helpful.
Have you had a problem with the footer not appearing on live page when using this plugin? I've made a single post template and while the footer shows in edit mode, it doesn't in live mode.
No I haven't I'm afraid. Best ask AE Pro support. Sorry!
Hi. When I put RUclips URL in my post, the thumnail is not displayed in the browser using this AE template. How to solve this? Thanks for your help.
You'l need to ask AE support about this. Hope they can help.
Great!
Thanks Christian! Always great to hear from you my friend.
I'm just a fan :)
By the way, I have revisited all of your video a second time, it's good reference.
Thank's again!
Great. I'm glad it's useful. Merci mon ami! :)
If i create a template for posts, all the posts would be of same template right... I created one and its very intuitive. It applied on all the posts...
BUT, now when i click edit with elementor on a post to modify that particular post, elementor shows the content area was not found""... is it Normal????
is AE pro different to what i purchased the elementor pro??
Yes, AE Pro is a separate plugin. But.... you might be able to achieve this functionality in Elementor Pro now. It includes a single post builder feature.
In My AE template only shows post attributes field only on right side. The is no disable element, side bar, footer widget and page builder container.
I am using hestia pro theme . Can you please help me to solve this issue??
Seems Hestia Pro doesn't have the ability to disable those elements? I was using GeneratePress in this video.
Hi Dave, nice video. Wouldn't it be easier to create a template in Elementor Pro and then save the template (as a page) to your template library and insert the template into a new post, to start your new post off.
There wouldn't be any need for AE Plugin, especially as Elementor are releasing more elements that are aimed at creating better looking posts (brewing up for the release of the complete themes) Would love to know your thoughts.
Yes you can do that. But then you don't have a master template. Each post/page you start off with that template is then effectively detached from the template. So if you want to make sweeping changes to the design of your posts, across the whole site... well, you can't!
It will sadly if you need to change 100 posts for some icon change.
I can't edit post with elementor to put a template (the_content error, elementor doesn't work), what am I doing wrong?
Thank you! I love your videos! Could I do this with elementor free?
Thank you. :) Yes, you can with free. BUT you also need AnyWhere Elementor Pro, and that's a paid plugin.
oh! anyway I bought the pro license! hehehe _Thank you a lot!!
Hi Dave,
a few days ago I decided to renew the look of the website for my podcast. It's mainly a blog site, the only problem is that there are more than 450 episodes published there, each one of them in it's own post. Does an Elementor Post Template, once created, modify all the published posts to the same look as the new ones?
Thanks in advance for your reply
I have installed for the purpose GeneratePress + Elementor
Yes it does. But you shouldn't need to use AnyWhere Elementor Pro for it anymore, cos now Elementor Pro itself allows you to build single post templates.
@@DaveFoy Thanks Dave for your reply. One more question: in my posts I have a Blubrry player that even though it appears above the text content of the post if I edit with Elementor I don't see anywhere the player timeline. Is there a way with Elementor Pro to place an audio player wherever you decide?
@@evallesg Do you add a shortcode to the page with that player? If so, use the Shortcode widget to paste it in, and it should show it in the editor. Is the player showing in live view but just not in the editor view?
Hello buddy, is it possible to create different sets of header and footer for the same domain? i mean in the same installation of wordpress? this so i can have different header and footer for different pages in the same site?
Yes you can. What theme do you use?
Thanks for your answer, im using just recently oceanwp plus elementor, my idea is to offer affordable one page in one domain webpages, so i need the masking of the domain. Do you have idea if that could affect the seo optimization of that one page created with elementor? thanks for your answer!
So you're going to be pointing a single domain to a single page, on a site that's actually hosted on a 'master' domain that holds ALL the different pages?
Es buena opción, pero hay duplicidad de trabajo...existen otras formas de colocar post más rapido desde las entradas...
Do you still use this method Dave? Having recently updated Elementor Pro to v2, AEP broke one of my sites, and I had to roll back :(
Hey Mick. I'll tend to use the single template builder functionality in Elementor Pro if I can, but bust out AE Pro if I need extra functionality (e.g. for more design control over individual list items in an archive listing).
Hi! could you explain a little better the minute 12:11? Do you have to delete or add that part?
also in Appearance I dont have the option of simple CSS I do have one called custom Css but there is empty
Did you used a Elementor Pro? Can I organize my posts in more of one page? How add page seccion ?
No I don't think this uses Elementor Pro. It uses AE Pro though. I don't understand your other questions I'm sorry.
