Yeah, and that's why it's so great! The movie too. Hey, could see it being filmed as live action, and it would actually seem like a real story. Except the shape shifting into bears thingy though.
Rafael Anacleto I just feel as if the bond between Merida and her family was more genuine than the 'sisterly love' Anna and Elsa supposedly have. Frozen felt fake, rushed and cheesy but even if Brave had some corny moments, the songs were great and the message of family was delivered more successfully than Frozen - I wish Brave got the better reception to be honest. However, Kristoff in Frozen was the only character I liked and the score was GORGEOUS (as compared to the awful songs save for For the First Time in Forever which I actually like. It's a good Disney song).
+AmberStormNeko Personally, I'm not fond of Brave at all. I love the characters and settings, the soundtrack etc. but the storyline was very disappointing in my opinion, I thought it was going to be an epic adventure and not a mother-daughter story where the mother turns into a bear.... Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that kind of story, but it wasn't what I - and from what I've heard, many others - had expected and looked forward to.
AmberStormNeko I'm glad you liked it though :) But Merida going on an adventure without anything like a love interest, maybe by herself or meeting a friend to accompany her, it still would break the stereotypical princess movie.
He actually was a professional singer and banjo player in the 70s. He recorded a couple of albums with Gerry Rafferty (of Baker Street fame) as The Humblebums
I remember our school had a Ceilidh a couple of years ago and they played this with everybody singing along, it really does sound like a song the clans would sing around the fire while dancing drunk on whiskey.
Yep then growling out of nowhere everyone turns Around and Merida has gone with her father this time on a hunting trip. So Merida screams out in her scottish accent Mor'du!!!!!!

I'm not sure you can compare the two, though. 'Kill the Beast' is a villainous, angry mob song. This is 100% pure, jacked up, medieval Scottish highland testosterone.
+Chloe Freake (Lostariael) I say thee nay. Tolkien took great inspiration from traditional folklore of Great Britain (be that England or Scotland) to make his world: Middle-Earth was basically an imaginary prehistoric Britain. Besides, Mor'du come from "mor" and "dubh", the respective Gaelic words for "giant" and "black", which appropriately describes his physical appearance and fur color. It may also come from "mortus", the Latin word for "death." "Mordu" is also French for "bitten," which is somewhat also suitable to Mor'du's character, for biting is probably his favorite way of killing his foes.
Villain-wise in gaming alone, you can imagine in Skyrim, this sung to describe Alduin, the World-Eater, a.k.a, the Great Black Dragon, put aside a few factors, perhaps, yeah, I think Nords in Whiterun alone would sing it to boost morale in the war with the beast himself, plus, Alduin is part demon himself, technically.
