Hi from Greece love the channel
the outlet of the drier at 7:00 is plastic i believe is a
🔥 fire 🔥 HAZARD
STAY SAFE STAY HAPPY
@@kostaschl92 That outlet you are referring to is a standard industry approved dryer vent. The hose is made of aluminum, all heat and hot air is dissipated by the time it gets to the vent which of course goes to the outside..
How long has the beard been growing? Been growing mine for 5 months, but I'm sure I still have a long ways to go...
You know you've reached a milestone when the family's evening entertainment consists of watching the new washer and dryer clean the family clothes. So happy for you.
Wait 'til you see the 1st toilet flush!
Who needs TV? We have a dryer...with a window. HAHAHA. I think it's great.
We hadn't been without one like they had, but when we got our first front loading machines we literally sat there and watched a complete cycle run through both because it was so amazing! :) We had been used to top loading before that. It was so cool. :)
lionhiker That’s when you know you appreciate the little things in life😂
The Lowes plumbing department manager was later heard muttering "Who stocked these couplers, a toddler??" You two are a delight and I love seeing you progress your dreams and your children interacting with anything. Sorry I'm running behind and just now catching up on a lot of your stuff.
Mom didn't get mad when child was playing with stuff on store floor. Just made sure she put parts back, in the right spot. Nice work
@Bobby Brady Somebody needs a hug!
@Bobby Brady Sir I too am likely from your generation and get your point. I also think there are ways of doing things and correcting children that demonstrates compassion and empathy rather than strict authority.
I salute Mom for her inclusive way she rears her children and was particularly touched by this excerpt as was tj 1911.
Another guy from "back in the day," was Fred Rogers. I think he would be 110% behind how this family communicates with each other. I know it's the reason why I keep watching each vlog release. The harmony is so rare and so appreciated.
@Bobby Brady We are asked a lot where the kids are or what they do while we do x,y,z so we like to include what the kids are doing and how we interact as husband/wife in our videos because it fills in the "gaps" for people. Our channel is about sharing our life and how it changes as we progress from raw land to a functioning homestead. We do however realize our content is not for everyone and that's ok. Some like it, some don't- no biggie. We are very fortunate to have kind, respectful, well behaved kids. You can see the boys are not using the store as a "playground"- their behavior is age appropriate... As is Ellie's. She is 2. It is natural for her to want to touch and explore everything around her. As a parent, with a 2 year old, I have the choice to spend and hour in the store with a toddler screaming because she can't touch anything and disturb the other patrons OR I can pick my battles and let her quietly play on the floor where she is 1. Not disturbing anyone 2. Not harming anything 3. Learning through play to stack, order, sort and manipulate objects and 4. We have the quiet necessary to be able to think clearly and get what we need. I obviously chose the calmer route. Now, when there is a dangerous situation, she is disturbing others, being destructive etc. I will step in regardless of whether it causes a temper tantrum or not. I also have no problem telling her (or any of our kids) "no". Example in this video- she put an object in the wrong bin, I corrected her. We try our best to choose respect, understanding and patience but we are also firm and have clear expectations with our kids. It's a balance and we are not perfect parents- just doing the best we can.
@@WildWonderfulOffGrid You're doing a great job, don't let the old grumps get to ya. Your kids will be better equipped to handle the world than most.
@@WildWonderfulOffGrid Thats the way to do it: Thank you, you're great parents
Not having to use a laundromat is a bigger deal than many understand. I am truly happy for you!
Josh is living by the crede...'happy wife, happy life'. Erin is definitely happy. Great job!!
Congratulations! I started out with using laundromats, then I remember how thrilled I was to get a wringer washer. I still had to hang everything out, but it was still exciting. Then the day came for two modern appliances! I share your gratitude and excitement. Congratulations. You are a blessed woman that your dear husband cares to provide conveniences for you. Thank you for sharing, too. We have fallen in love with your youngsters and your sweet children. May the Lord continue to bless your family!
Never seen anyone so happy to buy a washing machine. All the best from London.
👍🎄🎅🏻
I found it hilarious that Josh can hook up all the electrical on the washer and dryer but is clueless as to how to actually use either. LoL
@ Agreed ha ha ha
Smarty The Pants that’s almost tactical underpants warfare
Smarty The Pants there’s no doubt about it. My dad has been married 53 years and he doesn’t know he owns a washing machine😉
Interesting how sometimes little things like getting to wash your clothes in your own home can be so exciting. Good job you guys.
Man Erin, I am so happy for you. Now you don't have to go wash those clothes in that freezing water in the creek anymore. That's a good man you got there gal!
I can imagine how excited you guys are! Going to a laundromat is one of life's most grueling experiences, and costly, $3,160 (approx). Wow! If I were you, I would be doing something everyday to celebrate that freedom!!
This has been so much fun to go on this journey with you guys
I know how thrilled you are to have your washer & dryer back. We don't appreciate them until we don't have them. Then we realize how great it is to be able to do laundry at home. Not to mention the cost savings in money, travel, hauling the baskets, and most of all our time. Congratulations!
Love you guys
Erin has best hair on RUclips
^true story
Seems like it grows an inch or so a month 🤩 she has that natural beauty 😀
100% Agree
Remember to keep the washer door open when not in use....It will keep the machine from stinking. Awesome channel guys...My fave Off Grid on RUclips...@ Living Off Grid w/ Jake & Nicole .... THIS....Is what a good wholesome Off Grid Channel, should be like....
That washer and dryer should make life a lot easier for everyone in the family. Good job.
not in the house...will get OLD !
BS Detector , temporary location, until their house is finished. Power house location still much better than driving to a laundromat.
Супруга - умница, красавица. помощница!!! Женщина - мечта!!! Молодцы ребята!!!
You guys are pretty good with vlogging
Got to love it....Josh gets a new circular saw, and Erin gets a new washer and dryer...Happy family, happy life !!...Keep doing what your doing..Because what your doing is amazing...
Oh, and thanks for the head warmer !!
Greetings from Russia happiness to you and your children.

I worked at the Lowe's store in this video, that's so awesome to see!
We are there all the time- Come say hi if you see us there! We always like the opportunity to thank our viewers in person for taking the time to watch our videos!
@@WildWonderfulOffGrid I can't locate that Lowes. In WV?
Guessing either Winchester or Harrisonburg?
Go put the stuff the kid was playing with back in the right place
I think it is in Front Royal , Virginia , At Riverton Commons . You can see the big electric company in the drone shot to the left . And next to Walmart . Love that area , and your videos with your family in them .
I've never seen a super model so down to earth and living out in the sticks.
My wife and I watch you guys all the time. Our dream is to live the way you do. You two are so inspirational. Real life and real humility! Easy for real people to relate. Your videos and your family give hope to us older folks for a brighter future . . . Our son's are an Electrician and a Mechanic and you guys give us comfort in their growing family's futures knowing there is good company in the world. For what it's worth from an older generation, Thank YOU for taking the time to share your happiness!
I've said it before. Good people, good parents. You guys have your stuff together. Brightens my day watching your vids
Now I know why pvc fittings are never in the correct bins at the big box store. Thank you Ellie :)
A lot of washers in the UK only have cold water feeds because we do most at 30C and hot water in a house is typically 55C (to avoid Legionella bacteria). The hot feed would be too hot. Also gas dryers are unheard of here, we only use electric. In the UK you'd need to get them professionally installed because they're off gas and you've got to be professionally registered to work on any type of gas. Finally, propane and natural gas have different "calorific values", which is for the same amount they produce different amounts of energy. One of the reasons why you've got smaller nozzles for propane. Natural gas is also harder to ignite, as I discovered when I designed an electronic Bunsen Burner's control circuitry!
Wow, a washer and drier in your own space...Like Rich Folks :)
Hats off to you two! Raising a Family and DIY, not only off the grid but also homesteading! Much success!!!
lol, "doing laundry" was our code for ..... glad you two are now able to do laundry ;-)
Drone shots are spot on, as is the editing. I hope your show has at least a half million viewers by the time you finish the entire estate plans. With so little time for the project, your kids will be in high school by the time you get done with all the editions. Lots of yummy goodness in that freezer !
One of my favorites RUclips channel
It’s like your watching a riveting TV show when you’re all staring at the washer run. I love it!
These two are destined for greatness. Beautiful work. Best DIY on the net. So unique.
NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR LARGE THE PROJECT IS ,IT MEANS THAT YOU ARE GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THE FINSH , WELL DONE ...
It's weird to say "congratulations" about the laundry, but "congratulations."
You don't appreciate the creature comforts in our city lives until you are forced to be without.
I did 4 weeks in a Mercedes sprinter campervan and when I got home in my small appartement I appreciated it way more
Hey I know exactly how she feels. I lived in an apartment with no washer and dryer hook up with 2 kids.
Strange how the simple things in life are taken for granted! Enjoy the new toys Erin!
Great job guy's and I'm still laughing Josh from you spraying her ummm yeah LoL thumbs up my friends watching the dryer is way better than television
Its amazing when you tell your wife today is the day we buy the washer and dryer to be installed soon and how it makes her feel like shes on cloud 9 with excitement.
This is big! Congrats guys.
Hey guys. Two things; when you are not using the new washer, make sure you leave the washer door open. That will help it dry out. Front loader are notorious for smelling bad over time if you don't do this. Also, are you sure about the dryer vent aluminum hose? They are known for causing fires. Good luck.
Congrats!
Rather humorous, but a family that watches the washer/dryer combo work the first time stays together! Happy for you all.
Did I just watch a video about installing a washer and dryer & enjoy it hahahaha
God's blessings... Awesome to watch
13:45 - family in front of the "live television" ;-))) wathcing the best TV program of the year.
I so enjoy watching this couple the love they resonate is magical. The children are so creative & well behaved. Great parenting. Please don't ever stop vlogging💚💚💚.

Best Christmas present EVER!
THAT'S why nothing is in the right box when I shop big box... LOL! Congrats on the upgrade!
Very happy for your new improvement ! Erin,... you and Josh are a very good team ! I really enjoy all of your videos ! Keep up the good work. Josh said something that I cannot let go by as I do every time I hear it. He mentioned a " hot water heater " ! I really don't think HOT WATER needs heated ! LOL I tell everyone its a COLD WATER Heater , a water heater, or a hot water tank. I can't wait to her his reply, I'm sure he has a very logical come back for that ! You two are great !
You are 100% correct 😂 It's a bad habit of saying that incorrectly that we have yet to fix
@@WildWonderfulOffGrid Most people do it. The guys I worked with used to say it all the time. It got to the point the some of my co-workers would bust out laughing when they heard someone say it, and just wait for my reaction. Your entire family is awesome ! I love every minute of the videos ! Keep them coming !
After reading through much of the comments and all the back and forth.......Josh and Erin are Americana @it's BEST! So very Proud of you both. Allowing us to cheer you on through this process and may you have the very Best Christmas!
Erin and Josh, so happy for you and the family, can't wait to see the interior completed and you all snug as a bug in a rug. You have really impressed me as a family. You deserve everything you have worked towards. I couldn't be more proud of you if you were my children. God bless you all. A merry Christmas from South Africa and an even more prosperous 2020.
When we were building our cabin, first it was getting out of our 12 foot trailer after 2 years, then it was the heat and running water to take showers (2 gallon water showers, heat some on the camp stove in the camper). We had a generator for power. At times we kept saying how crazy we were. All our friends could not believe what we did, but now we have a nice warm cabin. I am building my shop, one step at a time. Oh the washer thing, we were the same way. And I'm in my 60's, its a great life. I enjoy seeing the progress.
Well done!
Greetings from Italy
You are a blessed man. Not only is she beautiful but she is intelligent and works very hard next to you.
Love you two, so funny and sincere. Happy Holidays to you and the kiddos.
Don't forget about the 1/4 million subs! Another big day.
That washing machine plays a little tune when it finishes, I have one 😄🎼
Awesome. My kids used to think washers and dryers belong outside because our first home was 780 sqft and no laundry room. Laundry was in the back. It's super exciting to upgrade to "normal".
Kids! Come AND watch the Best show ... Laundry Time! ... Special guest... Red Socks!
I am almost sure all those pink dress shirts originally came exactly from one red sock finding it's way into the white shirts some day ;)
Bravo Josh! Your degree matters the most! As I have said before.... you two are an inspiration!
Beings back memories. I miss those days. You two rock. It's always great to see couples get along so well in everything as you two
YOU GUYS ARE SO COOL YOU DESERVE ALL YOU HAVE YOU GUYS ARE WHAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT. YOU ARE A VARY HARD WORKING FAMILY GOD BLESS
I have to leave the door on my washer open to prevent the moldy smell. Luckily it opens to the wall so it out of the way.
There is a little hole or set of slits on the seal/boot that can be cleaned out with a q tip to push the gunk out for proper draining which is the main issue on most leaving the door open even cracked helps a ton as well.
Your kids are precious! They are learning alot about life and self reliance from u 2.
Get the stack kit for the washer dryer so that dryer doesn’t shake off and fall on anyone.
Josh, you must have good taste...I have the same flannel.
Keep your eye on it !!! It's a trick, Josh !!!! Ruuuuuuun !
Thanks to you all for all the wisdom encouragement and laughs.
OneLove,
Wulfy
This and sailing laVagabonde are great 'shows' on utube. Great ppl.
Now that you have the washer/dryer you can make more videos for everyone to enjoy. Congratulations!
Josh honestly is my role model lol. He is a genius. Does everything himself. Absolutely amazing. Dont stop Josh.
He's not a genius, he's an electrician, get yourself one.
Being able to conduct an off grid homestead with complete harnessess, a solar power, rearing farm animal and above all a beautiful family, it may sound like a 'genius' in a small scale that is.....but for a blunt arrogant who took it literally ...it still half full glass of something to them...
TheSoloAsylum dont be jealous

Can't wait to see the inside of the house come together when you can finally move in.
Small things can have the biggest rewards in life. One little issue you will run into with the temp setup. When the weather drops below freezing the wastewater will freeze up.
Josh I’m the same way , using my Milwaukee impact for everything - literally everything. In fact i can’t remember that last time I willingly used another drill .. and we are not talk about hole hogs
New dryer - better than TV any day - entertainment for the whole family! ;-)
so glad for you. I know 100% how you feel right now. first my washer went out and after spending 30 to $40 a week to wash cloths it was so good to get a new one and then the next week my dryer went out. but thank God it was summer and I could hang my cloths to dry them and that saved me about $40 a month on the light bill. so I know how you feel and so glad you got one now.
That’s patience, plus two kids. You deserve a medal, massage and spending money. Lol. Congrats.
for an old guy here i love watching your journey washer tv lol
You two are awesome working together having fun!
Best part was at 14:00 the whole family watching washing clothes Classic!!!
Great Vid! *Washer and Dryer,* amenities in life we all don’t appreciate enough.
Congratulations!! We moved 2 miles 3 weeks ago and still need to do laundry at the old house. I can’t imagine a two hour commute with 3 children for 17 months to wash clothes. Best Christmas ever! :)
it's like watching pure living for life but without grinding my teeth in frustration :D

Awesome, it is very nice being able to do your family's laundry at home. More time to spend with the whole family.
Josh: “I have a degree”
Erin: “a degree in bulls#*+”
funniest response ever! 😂😆🤣
Wayne ❤️
Actually, most "degrees" do indeed have very little hands-on. Most of the actual physical experience comes AFTER schooling.
We call that a bachalor of science. I for one have a BS in Business. :P
I also have that degree
J R you are correct but the main thing a degree does since it does not prepare you for any job you will accept after graduation but what it actually does is tell the employer that you are a trainable employee. That is actually what they are looking for now when you have a degree.
The employer doesn’t really give a hoot what your degree is in except for a handful of professions , but most know that the knowledge you obtained while in college will have absolutely zero benefit to either of you in that particular position but it shows you know how to find answers, where to find answers, and that you have the ability to research if needed. It’s a shame that a young person has to spend an average of 4 years of their adult life and go into a massive mount of debt in order to receive a piece of paper that isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on (except for a handful of degrees in medical, etc)
Beautiful family.....brings back good memories..... God bless and enjoy every minute especially with the kids.....
Hello! i'm from Philippines, and i've watched your WWOG since day , I am getting so excited as each day passes by, how i wish i can attend the house warming! LOL
Congratulations! Been following you both since I discovered your channel and I admire you both for taking a leap of faith into this adventure.
Love watching you two, even if it means watching a warcher install.
This thrills me for you....laundromats are horrible....I can't even imagine with 5 people....3 was bad enough when our house burned...I was sooo glad to get back in our house with my washer and dryer....
After nearly 5 years of using a laundry mat I finally moved to an apt with in unit laundry. I hugged my washer and dryer too!!! 😂😂😂
Been there. Done that (The hugging a new washing machine i mean :)) Kinda miss reading books at the laundromat though :/
Awesome video, that's an awesome little building you guys have setup.
