There's tons of e-cymbal options available out there by now, so looks & triggering apart:
🗣 How LOUD will the different brands & models physically be while playing - let's say at home in your appartment? (late at night 4am, after you've just returned from a party where they played this sensational Sepultura / Slayer playlist, that inspired you to play some bad ass metal grooves at home RIGHT AWAY! You get the idea...) 👉 👂👀
We've kept it simple yet consistent, put up all those different e-cymbals on a Zeitgeist AD3 e-kit, and mic'ed them up with a pair of studio standard condenser microphones (Beyerdynamic M930) 🎤🎤🎚 🎛
Recording levels & mic distance have been equal for all cymbals, there's no further eq/mixing applied. You'll be able to get a representative and comprehensive impression of all the e-cymbal options and their respective noise levels while watching & listening, feel free to skip around in the video too.

As expected, Yamaha was the clear winner (if you prefer less noisy cymbals). It wasn't even a competition.
The GEWA ones actually surprised me how loud they sound compare to the other ones!
The Clear Winner is ZEITGEIST Antique. Very very quiet and it seems to be a real haptic. NICE :-) These would be my ones, when I buy a edrum for my home.
Seemed like the cad cymbals were relatively quiet. They look great too!
The foot hihat comparison lost me 😂😂😂😂 some, you barely hit the pedal, some you hit it like a 18 wheelers. How could that even be a fair comparison? Wth
The Yamaha are very silent! Maybe is because the size. And the ATV sound loud but it seems they have the most realistic bounce! Thanks for the great performance in the comparison!
Thinking on getting those Z CAD cymbals, what about the feel/rebound of the stick compared to the rubber ones?
Roland 💙
Would be nice if you could put an analyser in the screen with the frequency response. What you perceive as loud, eg. Zeitgeist, is just in a different frequency to the others. Zeitgeist, between 750hz and 7.5k. While the others are more between 250 and 750hz. But not necessarily a higher db level...
Right, yet this is more of a "what you hear is what you get" comparison 😃 but why not? If one wants to dive deeper into detail / frequency spectrum analysis, I don't see why you shouldn't load the video audio into your DAW to analyse transient energy & frequency range. Should work just fine I guess, kind regards!
@@drumtecTV Done that. Thanks.
@@PG-yh5mk and?
If you compare them on noise level (and that's what this video is about, I think..)the Yamaha and Roland cymbals come out very favorable !
Absolutely! 😁
I m voting for the Yamaha ones. 🙌
Hey Simon, yes surprisingly they actually are the most silent option indeed. Didn't have that on my radar before executing this comparison really! Kind regards
Very usefull video thanks for it !
nice, I'm considering buying a roland VAD 507 and this is gold information
Oh then you should also check out this one for sure, because those VAD bass drums are loud as hell:

@@drumtecTV what about the Efnote 7 bass drum pad? As good as the drum tec?
@@GroschiLP The EFNOTE bass drums are really nice too, yet feel & sound differently than the drum-tec Real Feels. If you have the chance, trying them out for yourself side by side would be the best thing to find out which one you prefer. Kind regards!
So, would I be correct in surmising that it's a toss up between Yamaha and eFnote?. Works work me it that's the case. I'm selling my yamaha and buying an eFnote.
In any case, EFNOTE is a great choice & especially their cymbals feel & play great! 😁
Yamaha♡
Great!! it very useful!! Thank you !! can you do the same comparison with drum sound from different models???
Hi, you'll find demos with sound modules of all brands on our channel actually! Kind regards
hi-hat from ef note ✍impresses me.🎯
I really like you. I think you are one of the biggest drummer in the world
Thank you very much! I'm only about 1,80m though 😋You can find more drumming / music & sound demo videos on my private channel digitaldrumming too if you like:

Kind regards!
I’d says the Roland e-cymbals are the quietest.
I actually thought that Yamaha beat them all 😄
What do you think about GEWA's cymbals? I have Yamahas, but not very enthusiastic about them, they hotspot too much. How about GEWA in this regard? (Or eFnote? )
I live in Iran and drums of the Iran is really bad and I really like to have one of a roland drums only roland drums 🥺🥺😭😭
What's with the swiping motion on the metal cymbals. 3:00 opps 🤣🤣
Man, been practicing that new technique for some months now. It's the Severe-Swiny-Swiping Motion, to be applied exclusively to metal surface trigger cymbals! Don't tell me you haven't heard of that yet...?
@@drumtecTV Oh, you mean "doing a Ringo", lol
Kick and snare are really quiet in that video. What pads and coats you used here`?
www.drum-tec.com/zeitgeist-zg-ad3-shell-set-black-fade
Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV wow it's relatively cheap. Considering that your drum tec bass drum as an also quiet pad cost more than the whole set
Except for Zeitgeist of course, I really don't see an appreciable difference between them. Just my 2-cents.
I think differences are pretty interesting and pretty obvious in some cases, especially regarding hihat & ride cymbal noise level differences. While Yamaha seems to be the quitest of them all, Gewa cymbals for example are more on the louder side, while most of the others are somewhere in between (except ZG CAD, which is completely different because of their metal surface obviously). Kind regards!
This video deserves allll the likes
Thanks Corey!
Спасибо вам за проделанную работу вы даёте хорошую информацию о понятии звука
Спасибо, подробное сравнение, то что надо! 👍
You're welcome, but why are you commenting in Russian while you're name is Jack Shappard??? 😆
Question.. did u actually use the efnote hihat with the Roland module?
No, all cymbals were just set up on the kit for the noise level recording. KInd regards!
