I cry every time I watch these videos... especially since my 18 year old daughter is about to be off to boot camp for the Army on April 13.... She's the baby of my babies and I raised her alone so this is going to be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in this lifetime...So VERY proud of her, yet so scared with the way things are going today.
The moment at 2:05 when he looks up at the camera and mouths "Thank you", well hell, I lost it. Girls will never understand how much their daddies love them. Even the biggest daddy's girl, your father loves you twice as much. I love all 3 of my girls more than I ever thought possible.
It'd be so hard for a father to send his baby girl away to literally put her life on the line with no real assurance that she'll come home! Speechless!

I have seen so many of these military homecoming videos and none of them get any easier to see as I always get choked up. But this one is by far the most relatable and hardest one for me as I have two young daughters. Although they are still in the single digits for age, I can imagine that one day they will be grown up and maybe in the service. So, a homecoming like this just makes me all sappy! A big THANK YOU to all of our service men and women serving at home and abroad keeping us safe from harm both foreign and domestic. May they come home to our homes and hearts safely! i surprised my dad with a permanent home stay on his 56 birthday. im a Master Sargent and he was so happy to see me. iv never seen him cry until i got back from Iraq. he was crying a river. iv been gone for years

My siblings and I did something similar for our Dad on his birthday. Out of the bunch, three of us are Army and hadn't seen him in a long while, including myself who hadn't seen him in a few years as well. He was quite surprised when he came to the door and saw us. ^_^

its been 8 years i haven't seen my dad im 11 now i haven't seen him since i was 3 because he was unable to look after me and my mom wasnt able to either so i live with my aunt lori and uncle manny. my parents are divorced but i still love them. i also spent a while in a foster home before the bullying started. so this just killed me so much.i never cried but just then i cired.
I am right there with you. I have seen this one so many times and EVERY TIME it brings to tears to my eyes. To see the love dad has for his daughter and her love for him is worth the tears. You who are in the military certainly could not do what you do without the strength of family and friends who love and support what you are doing.
