The Battle of Stalingrad was one of the my incredible instances of human resilience. Stalin ordered that citizens stay in the city and fight along side the soldiers. The civilian casualties from this battle is mind boggling, but in the end Hitler and his men retreated. This is a great documentary!
Civilians forced to fight bla hagahagagAhagAhaha. And retreat? No. The sixth army was ordered by hitler NOT to retreat. You want to talk about human resilience? You should mention the unbelievable bravery and tenacity of the German sixth army. They were encircled, cut off from all land supply, they then lost the airport and all air support, then their army was split, they starved, they were offered food, shelter, LIFE, and their personal belongings if they would just admit defeat. Yet they endured all of this, never submitting until their general ordered them to surrender. That my friend is human resilience. @@Sku291 I'm German and I'm lucky, that we lost the war. We now have freedom and prosperity. With the NSDAP we had no freedom, oppression, no separation of powers, death penality and Sweden would be today Finland. Think about it.
The combo of parts 1&2 represent excellent production and narration of a war documentary...color video is superior in equal proportion to rare ...arguably the best documentary on the subject I've personally viewed...i have no criticism for this production...
Very good documentary! It’s a shame that so many red flags were seen by many and yet nothing was done. I wonder how things would have played out if other countries had clamped down on Germany when they started to break the treaty at the start
The treaty was damned wicked the only reason I hate Hitler is because of genocide but everything he did was always coming if not him then someone else would have done it
People saying that german was being bad since that start and the other nations should stop. But in this time didnt had any “good” nation every nation was very greed and evil. The British conquered a lot of land was one of the biggest empire if which morals he had anything to say about german expansion. And the treat only gave hitler more popularity, because german people didn’t like the treaty, even if they lost the ww1 the treaty was literally very unfair for them. So of course hittler was the biggest evil but this doesn’t mean the other nations wasn’t too. African was being r*pe for Europe, indian was conquered by England. The world was really messed up
i never fully understood the gravity of this war, all the millions of lives lost due to the actions of a few evil men. terrific video, actually mad me a little emotional
The actions of a few evil men, it is true, but also I keep hearing (and I remember learning this at school): "The League of Nations did nothing. The League of Nations did nothing". And the Czechs' surrender of the Sudetenland, and the president of Austria resigning, both because they knew they would get no outside support. It is sad. I believe this war was probably preventable, and Britain and France share some responsibility for it, even though you can obviously understand their wanting to avoid war. And I can also understand America's policy of non-interventionism, but it put such incredible pressure on France. As the narrator says, Hitler kept doing what he was doing because he saw the allies as weak. And yes, the allies did for a time manage to avoid war, but at huge cost to mainland Europe. And in the end, the allies couldn't avoid war any longer and had to join it anyway
The narrative makes a serious error. Poland was slow to mobilize in 1939 because of French pressure not because they they believed the British and French would stop the intervention. Not knowing the fact, the video resorts to insult. Why? The Poles were not waiting for their Allies to do the fighting for them but they did expect them to live up to their commitment of a full scale attack on Germany from the West. France and Britain did not deliver on their promises.
Poland also gave germany a SERIOUS bloody nose. Downright heroic actions saw attempts thrown back. And even with tank superiority, poland continued to resist. Yes, it inevitably lost but it was still a very heroic, and fairly effective fighting force. I kinda hate how everyone portraits poland as weak, as just victims. Rather than a nation fighting two juggernauts, and resisting heroically. Even winning some battles through cleaver use of fortifications, calvery, and all. Had it been remotely invested in by the allies, poland could've likely had a chance to win. But alas, its allies were little more than paper allies at that time. Not for the last time would poland be betrayed by allies.
The Life Guide Bummer, but oh well there’s a bunch of vids on WWII and we all know how it ends. After Vietnam and Egypt can you maybe do a video on Vikings or the crusades?
@@erockstoenescu6171 I think we have plans to do a video on both, as well as The Great Depression and Alexander the Great. These should all come out this year. If after these, this video has accumulated enough views, we will then make Part II. Hope this helps.
This documentary was great explaining exactly how ww2 started. I didn't know certain things like how Britain made a pact with Germany allowing them to have a fleet of ships. Interesting
The other interesting fact is who is really gave the money to Hitler to build all this military power not giving a damn bout Versailles. It wasHjalmar Schacht who gave Hitler that pass to English and American big bankers. That’s how all that military power was build and they thought it’s going to be directed against Soviet Union only . But we all know how the things turned out.
No, the Poles had faith in their strength having defeated the Red Army in 1920. They were pressured by the French not to antagonize German by mobilizing. They complied. Also, remember that 1/3 of the Polish state budget went to the military.

You mention aswell, that germans attacked Poland from north and south, but the main attack was from west. You also forgot about slovacks, that attacked together with germans. Good work anyway, thank you.
This was brilliant - 40 minutes that felt like 10 - can't wait for part 2. 👍
Thanks Kevin!
So glad part 2 came out rewatching the first part to jog my memory, but if it’s as good as part 1 it’s gonna be amazing!
Thank you for the Documentary. Great Job!

He made a good job. But it isn't the greatest story ever. It's the opposite, the worst story.
The greatest story would’ve made the war a German victory.
@@Sku291 I'm German and I'm lucky, that we lost the war. We now have freedom and prosperity. With the NSDAP we had no freedom, oppression, no separation of powers, death penality and Sweden would be today Finland. Think about it.

This is really good. Thank you youtube documentarian excelante!
It's the end of november so wheres part 2 that was comin this summer? :)
Crazy how this wasn’t even 100 years ago great video
Exactly
The combo of parts 1&2 represent excellent production and narration of a war documentary...color video is superior in equal proportion to rare ...arguably the best documentary on the subject I've personally viewed...i have no criticism for this production...

Thanks alot love the footage and all ur the best ww2 doc ever especially the English used keep it up
Love the long videos bro please keep them up
Very good documentary!
The world was really messed up
Great video
So were's part 2
I'd like to know who won ..
LOL
Very well done, keep up the good work
Sorry if it sounds bad, BUT, I really enjoy when Englishmen narrate War Docs.

search for Europa The Last Battle movie in google. its much better
WW1 was part 1 most likely, in recent history. Part 3 next, in the future making?
Can you do a video about Greek myths and stories? Anyway I enjoy your content keep it up!
i never fully understood the gravity of this war, all the millions of lives lost due to the actions of a few evil men. terrific video, actually mad me a little emotional
Great job on this documentary btw. Well done. 👏👏
More valuable info in this documentary than a whole year of public school attendance
Hi there, I really enjoyed watching this. It was well cut and edited. Can't wait for the second part! Thank you!

Not for a while. Vietnam War and Egyptian Mythology are the next videos.

Bummer, but oh well there’s a bunch of vids on WWII and we all know how it ends.

@@TheLifeGuide Where is part two? I've been waiting for months.
Nice to watch while I’m recuperating from you know what. Not finished yet, hoping Malta is mentioned.
It is a myth and outright lie that the Polish cavalry was charging Germans tanks. Who ever spread the fake story?
