Not everyone can collect the high end watches. For those of us, brands like Vostok or San Martin are a good alternative. You don`t have to be wealthy to enjoy the hobby.
I am glad that you liked the Russian Vostok watches, these are manufactured watches with a long history, I am proud that they are completely produced in Russia and they are popular abroad!
Greetings. This is an awesome model, the dial design been in space in 1975, the date between 4 and 5 is unique. Some crowns do rust, heard it's a bad batch of metal on some. I have k350757, 710440, 670927, 090916, 090059. 👍
Love my quirky Vostok and I appreciate them- the crown really worried me at first but then I got the hang of it and its not an issue. Love the design and dial
Some can’t get over the crown, for me it was the easiest thing to get over. Only problem I have with the watches is accuracy because I’ve been putting off trying to regulate it
The engineering is great, but the finishing is poor. Mine died after a few months and I sent it to a watch maker for a cleaning and refinishing. I spent approximately $175 and now and it is running perfectly with a great power reserve and extreme accuracy. I would guess I have $225 into it and am delighted.
Wow Jeffrey, really love that you are one of the very few people that would have done that! I guess you knew it was a keeper. For around a $100 I doubt there’s anything more interesting than one of these. So what exactly did you have refinished? - A
I just liked and subscribed your channel. Great discussion on Vostok. I just ordered my first, an Amphibian 120813 in white dial. I love the look of the domed crystal! I have been in watch collecting for about 3 years now and am still at the "beginner level" when it comes to budget. The most expensive watch I have is a diver from Long Island Watches for about $350. Right now I just look for styles that interest me and the Vostoks have a wide range of looks and finishes. Great review you two! Cheers from Tennessee!
Great review guys! Loved your discussion. I finally bought one after watching your review and I am very happy. Thanks again. Keep up your great work. :)
Hi Guys thanks for video, I agree with most of what you are saying, I think Vostok are Sooo retro cool😀😍 I hope you don't mind me saying, but it dosent work, having both of you on video, it's better a one on one with viewers👍 all the best to you both.
Thank you for watching, Nick! The idea behind our videos is two friends chatting watches, perhaps we can put more effort in the delivery. Regardless, thanks for the feedback 👍
Standard Time have you watched American idol, when 2 people Duet, and it's a car crash...you are also taking away the input of the viewer, by conversing with yourselves, it's not working. Describe the Time pieces on your own, give your own opinions ...good, n Bad, and let viewers put their views forward..
Vostok’s lume is very reactive but short lasting. I would class is as disappointing, but so long as you remember you’re essentially getting a vintage watch it’s cool. I have a couple of soviet era dress pieces and a Komanderski. As well as a growing collection of other soviet brands including Slava, Raketa and sekonda. I want a scuba dude and Neptune Amphibia in my collection.
Agreed, if you know what you're getting into then you can really appreciate them. I really want to get into more of these Soviet gems. Particularly some chronographs. Very interested in some Poljot pieces I've seen. Even Sturmanskie is pretty cool for the Russian space connotation. - A
The crown tube is titanium. The rust color came off mine with two strokes of an old toothbrush. This rust color depletes and stops after a few uses in the sea. They are cheap enough to risk regulating yourself. I have been able to regulate mine to ±2 seconds per day while worn. The beat rate is 198,000 beats per hour. ruclips.net/video/v4n0ZCbXWk8/видео.html

I have a two vostoks but I went for no date versions as they are much simpler . One is +1 seconds the other is -2 so well impressed
Wow that’s surprisingly accurate. Lucky you! Thanks Clive.
@@StandardTime Just regulate it, takes 5 minutes

Thanks mate! Such a fun everyday watch and there’s no worry if you accidentally wear it somewhere either.
@@StandardTime Very true. And it blends in quite well due to its slim profile. How is its long term performance? You faced any issues?
Excellent review
Loved this video
Thanks mate!
meranom sells a big and large see through sapphire case back
I thought that Vostoc’s design is from the ‘60s not the ‘80s but I could be wrong. Can you confirm which is correct?
Ahah you’re probably right! Wiki says ‘67 for the first amfibia ☝️
60s design, 90s refurb’s ❤
Good review man!✌️✌️
Thanks!
Does this watch have sunburst dial?
Yep!

i just got my new amphibia, and i was happy to find that the lume is lasting for hours, far longer than the 15 minutes or so my bulova can manage

Thanks for the information about the rust! Makes me sleep better. +/-2 is insane. I think you meant 19,800 bph right? Thanks for the comment!
@@StandardTime Yes. 19,800 bps.
