- U.S. Marines with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 167 participate in Distributed Aviation Operations Exercise (DAOEx) 24 at the U.S. Navy Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center on Andros Island, Bahamas, June 1-14, 2024. HMLA-167 supported DAOEx 24, designed to distribute command and control of aviation forces across echelons of command, pushing authorities to the lowest levels, while keeping forces moving between airfields and air sites.

I’m 68 . I’ve done peacetime in the USMC & wartime in the Army in Iraq . Wartime army was magnitudes EASIER , less fulfilling & full of more effort fighting red tape than my time in the Marines . The marines obsessed with the philosophy of how to solving unexpected difficulties that could affect their mission . I always wanted2B army since little boy .The army cancelled resupply missions due to misty rain ,training was cancelleddue to possibilities of thunderstorm & other excuses to NOT do their job. Army officers were more concerned with doing paperwork than with saving their soldiers lives that were already on patrol . The sense of Honor , Integrity & courage permeate EVERYTHING in The Corps , while those values are little more than bullet points to discuss in their endless power point classes the army requires their soldiers to discuss in classes twice a year. Don’t even get me started on the woke crap that the army had/has. Today’s army is NOTHING compared to its ancestors in Viet Nam sadly. The Air Force isn’t any better . Navy is better than army but it isn’t immune to criticism. I tell teens don’t waste your time talking to any recruiter unless he has a blood stripe on his pants or is Space Force . All that will result is that they’ll die of old age regret wasting their lives @ playing soldier. Join the ‘Corps !
