My favorite are KUM Masterpiece, KUM automatic longpoint, and M+R Round Brass. They all put a different length tip and the automatic longpoint, also sharpens the leads of my lead holders. I use the brass on color pencils, the Masterpiece I use on my harder leads and all Faber Castell pencils, that are usually all very strong and can support the longer point that sharpener puts. Lastly, the automatic longpoint, I use on the softer graphites and the pencils I use for writing.
🌟Thank you a million times over for putting this wonderful video together for us! I’m still trying to open up the Prismacolor hand held pencil sharpener! I’m going to try a pair of channel lock pliers or a knife to pry it open. With my luck it will probably break just like yours did! 😢
Ohhhhh you’re so welcome! I felt so silly that I couldn’t figure it out. They definitely need to add instructions to the packaging!😂🤦🏻♀️🫶🏼 Im glad you enjoyed this. Happy art-ing this week!
Do you turn the pencil on a sharpener, or the sharpener on a pencil? It sounds a lot like "Gulliver's travels "😂 I used to have a Derwent pencil sharpener, it had different sized openings for pencils of different diameters. It has been my trusty companion for almost 10 years, but suddenly it stopped working ,so your video is very useful. Thank you! I've recently heard , that " derwent" means an "oak" in old English. Before that I didn't like the sound of it, but since it means an "oak"... Now I like it more. 😂
Ooo that’s a good but of trivia about the Oak/Derwent nomenclature! Acorns and oak leaves symbolize strength, stability, endurance & all the interconnected aspects of nature, so I kinda dig that as well! Hmmm that’s surely a life’s pondering of the existential artist’s dilemma…do you turn the pencil or the sharpener? One does not go seeking answers of such magnitude lightly. After much careful contemplation, I will tell you I probably turn the pencil in my right hand and hold the sharpener in my left hand. I have heard that my preferred method may not be the “correct” way to do it, however, it has served me well since kindergarten, and I see no reason to change.😂
@@artonthecreek 😂 I couldn't remember, which way it is for me and after a couple of experiments it is concluded, that if I sharpen my pencil by hand , it's in the same way as you do . And also since kindergarten. 🤣
Hi Katy! All of the sharpeners I discussed in this video should be mentioned in the video description with affiliate links. If you can’t find the one you’re looking for in the description, let me know and I’ll be happy to assist!
