What about the lottery system of H1b visa? As far as I know, H1b is provided only after a lottery. Are medical professionals treated specially for H1b?
Can you please elaborate more on preparation for USMLE Steps for old graduates like us and want to persue alternate pathway program? I believe that I can't even apply for alternate pathway before clearing my USMLE steps?
I completely understand your feelings. You are not alone and i come across people similar to you. You are correct - you should be ECFMG certified prior to applying for Alternate entry path program. This comes after completing USMLE Step 1 and 2. My suggestion for USMLE is to focus on UWorld and First Aid. This will give you enough information to clear the exams. You can reference books as and when required.

Completed residency with diploma, clinical medicine diploma by the Ministry of Health and post-graduated fellowship in internal medicine (all in Argentina) and many years of experience (11 year) .
