I found out it’s easier just to take all of those metal brackets out and you can get your fingers in there and route it easier. Good video bro thank you.
I use to mechanic for a company that ran Volvos. I hated those cables. They broke at the worst time. I ended up putting them on a PM replacement schedule. It was like every 18 months or something like that (10years ago). They were easier to replace when you could put the wheel in a good position to start with. Volvos required you to think different when working on them.
Really are a PAIN

You have to wake up early when driving a Volvo! Always something to fix.
What are the two things visible from the moon? 1. The pyramids. 2. The Volvo check engine light. 😂
😂
Great inside, saved me hustle of figuring out where the hook up is under the dash, still took me couple of hours fighting it but....Thank you very much!
Glad it helped
Just a quick word of thanks for the video. I dove in yesterday to repair My Volvo. It took me about 2 hours, but It works great now. Thanks again
Glad you figured it out it's like the clutch cable on some the older pintos cable hooked the same way inside the bell housing !
Nice 🙏🏽
Appreciate the video! Wanted to see what I'd be getting myself into before actually doing it

Thank you for the video brother, was inspired watching how you did it, and replaced myself today, instead of paying to shop 200 hundred bucks!
Just stopped for my 10 hours after 600 mile day eating some dinner and watching... doesn’t get any better then this.... well maybe being at home watching
Safe travels 🙏🏽
This literally JUST happened my rig. Appreciate the info, subbed.

I'm on my second one!!!
Crazy hard to fix
The boss brought in breakfast pizza this morning, thought of you right away
Good job buddy.. I hate working under a dash, keep up the videos 👍
Just replaced one the other day took my like 5 hours -_- I removed both bracket to have more space but to pit them back was a pain in axx
Such a Pain 😑
Holly crap!!!! I'm about to leave it as is and drive like a bus driver
lol 😂
I got stuck at a place I work with no one around when my ignition switch came out of the steering column of my truck . Could not get it back in so had to call for a tow . Tow cost me more than the part and labor .
92 Dodge Dakota LE 4x4 .
Yikes 😳 🙏🏽
Not a hole, but a slot, with a wider opening at the end.
it is ez if u know what u doing. I replaced my cable yesterday it took me 3.5 hours, but it hink if i try to change it again it will be less then hour.
Would attaching a pull rope / wire to the old cable as you pulled it out assist with fishing the new cable through? Enjoy the video's! Thanks
Could you have taped the new wire on to the old wire and fished the new one through the holes? Just curious if that would have worked also.
my god I can't even imagine engineering all that up to work with all the other steering components.
Right 🤷🏽♂️🙏🏽
Just thought I would give you's a update out of hospital 🏥 but still have to stay in bed for a few more month yet to let my back recover as least I will be home with my wife and family and grandchildren for Xmas even if I am up stairs out the way
Hey brother how's it going... I was thinking if maybe you could've connected the old wire to the new wire before you pulled the old one out and maybe that would've helped you routed the new one through. Idk 🤷♂️ just some ideas 🤙🏼
Helped a lot, I have the same problem volvo fh 12 Europe model
That's the only concern I have. I will have to learn real quick how to repair my own future truck. I am not mechanicly minded to be fair but.. Time to learn I guess!
Saves you so much time and money 🙏🏽
Easiest way to learn is just to get in there and do it. I started tinkering with my old pos Nissan Sentra. Haven't stopped since
Keep it up boot and in another 5 years you might be considered a shipmate!
Lol 😂
Your such a life saver my good man
If you had tied that cable to the foot peddle you would have been able to release the steering wheel and just kelp it down..
Nothing like having it just...work..on the first shot, as opposed to f'ing around for an hour and a half trying to run one stinking cable. Half hour -tops...the way it should be!
Love when it goes somewhat smooth 🙏🏽
How do you get the lower wheel column cover off. The part with the hood release in it? Is there a start to finish vid? I’m in a two hour wait where I’m delivering and wanted to see how far I could get
Never mind. I sorted that bit. I’m wondering now if it’s not better if the wheel is all the way up. If you’ve any thoughts on the that bit, I’d love to hear them. My wheel is currently in the middle range and I think that blocks the spot you were talking about.
Wheel up was how I got it done just a bit tricky fishing it up there
@@JustTruckin Thanks. The guys in the shop already pulled the old cable out without putting it all the way up. #sadface
Thank you for driving a Volvo!
Made sense 🙏🏽
Thanks bruh !! Mine has been broken for a while
Awsome bro u save alot of money for your family 🤑🎄
Got to with TW and Starbucks 😂🙏🏽
I wonder if you would have been able to pull the new cable through with the old cable. Might have saved some headache if it was possible
Where's the start to finish video
Hey you should get them high dollar loads going in & out of Nyc...you could be rolling in it! lol
Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
I have the same issue but I haven hard time to figure it out
So how do u install the pedal? Im having a hard time got everything else
Pedal should not come out 😧
You need to get yourself a peterbilt 389. They are built better and hold their value way better and when they do break they are easier to work on. FYI. Your hood pull will probably break next. Love the videos though.
Great video, thanks for sharing
Hello everyone
Hey C Moore
Stick a loop of wire through the little hole, stick the cable through the loop, pull the loop while pushing the cable. You should get the cable through, if you are holding hour mouth right. Making scary faces and using bad language often helps encourage a stubborn part to fit.
I removed the bracket and 2 black pieces fell out and I can't figure out how they go back in.
Interesting wish I was there to help
Old you of “taped” the new one on to the end of the old one to help pull it through?
Could not old. :).
You can’t attach a wire and pull through. Doesn’t work that way. A new cable and pedal is 40$ usd or 52$ cdn with HST. It is a pain to do, on your back working above your head around the pedals. There is a series of cutch discs , like a bunch of coins pressed together-they don’t move. Total pain to do!
The above answer, July 2021.
I appreciate you bro
🙏🏽😎
electric tap tape the new one to the old one pull it through
I have to replace mine on my 2015 and I can't even get to the end of the broken one
Remove these 4 bolts to expose the cable ends
Good job
Thank you 🙏🏽
👍👍👍👍
Good Deal. You saved a few bucks on pro labor :)
🙏🏽
Add took six hours for me the biggest surgery ever I did
lol 780 670 whatever , I'm sure they're all the same . Patience is key, well done Justin 👍
Lol 😂
I'm jealous of Justin's patience
Torx
I would never raise that steering column again.
Lol
Amen it's not meant for you to be a bus driver 🤣
Was hear...late
Imho as a non mask wearer: mask on or off. Hanging from the ear for easy access looks dumb af.
