as an autistic teen, i wish i could abandon the concept of cringe culture, but i constantly fear how others see me. last time i went out in public wearing my comfort outfit (which is my eddie munson cosplay minus the wig 💀) i know i get looked at weirdly and i know people see me ast “one of those stranger things fans” which i HATE!! and i try to rationalize with myself that most of those fans people mock or call the “new stranger things fandom” are likely just queer/neurodivergent/disabled people like me who resonated with and felt liberated by eddie being so proud about being a freak. it’s hard to undo that internal bias and stop caring, but im taking it one step at a time, so that i can be a role model for the younger kids who don’t see themselves elsewhere (that’s also why i wear a pronoun badge to school, because i know 12 year old me would have cried knowing there was someone else older who was like me)
(ps stranger things is one of my special interests it’s literally my favorite thing in the whole world i’ve liked it for ages but i think it made the transition over to special interest after season 4. if anyone wants to talk about it with me in the replies i am very happy to :] ive been to the stranger things experience and actually met joseph quinn back in july which was awesome!! even if it was loud and crowded and i had a wee bit of a meltdown lol)

Also finding out which dogs understand Spanish makes me so happy. I worked briefly at a dog kennel wherein I was the only employee who knew some Japanese. So I see a dog on our roster whose parent’s name is 100% Japanese.
So I thought, “Could it be? Nahhh, surely not.”
But Aki (the dog in question) doesn’t seem to understand the other employees’ commands/requests. We get her out into the yard with the other dogs in her group and she looks distressed. She’s next to the fence and way from the other dogs, sniffing the ground because she’s not sure of what to do next.
So I call to her and say, 「アキちゃん!こっちはいてね!」
And I swear to god, she smiled at me. She wrapped herself around and between my legs for her entire stay. 😂🥰

The film "Aladdin" is racist all the way down to the canon name of the character. It's supposed to be pronounced a bit more like "ala-deen" if they even CARED the tiniest bit about the culture they SUPPOSEDLY were representing, they'd have done the picosecond of googling to find this out before churning out a god-awful script. About the ONE redeeming quality is Robin Williams' acting (rest in pizza)

It's just general ignorance for other peoples' languages which make up their cultures. Most languages don't have a short 'ay' sound. If there is an 'a' in the romanisation of a word, it's most likely going to be pronounced as 'ah' like in "father", not 'ay' or 'uh'. Nordic languages are completely different, but just something I've noticed as a language enthusiast!

    6:45 She completely nailed it.
In my own experience (I am not a doctor or paraprofessional), invocations of codependency in clinical settings tend to lack nuance, and risk blaming both communally-oriented/dependent people and victims of DV in equal measure.
Additionally, for those of us who need more help due to disability and/or co-morbid mental illness, it turns the conversation from “how can we better listen to and accommodate those we love?” to “how can you stop being so needy?”
As hard as it is to picture, white Americans didn’t always have this obsessive focus on when it’s socially-appropriate to kick out the kids and when said kids can deal with adulthood entirely alone.
Pre-industrial American white families were often multigenerational, and children would only venture out after marriage or an auspicious career move would take them across the country.
I’m not praising the “olden days,” either. That would be missing the point. But the rise of the nuclear family in the midst of a hyper-capitalist boom screwed everybody-both by prioritizing productivity over social bonding, and shaming POC into erasing their own cultural norms. Capitalism incentivizes the systemic disconnect to our families, our homes, and our communities.

It all just feels like different sorts of pain, but how in the world are you supposed to rate pain on a scale? I had a dangerous infection eating away at my foot for like a year that I thought was fine, but I'm also the same person who accidentally went over a ledge on a bike, and I was fine but bleeding a little, but I started to sob because I thought the fact that I was bleeding meant it was bad. And so toddlers being curious little sponges, they go and investigate and often end up shooting their fathers/other family members when they're discovered to have a gun. It's almost as if gun-loving Republicans are afraid of guns being pointed at themselves and think they should be age restricted so that toddlers can shoot themselves or other people with unsafely stored weapons :/

The longer I watched the more cop and military propaganda, the more I felt like any and all videos dealing with money seemed exploitative, and any videos that said they were helping seemed to be doing it for the wrong reasons because why are you not just doing for others? Why are you recording yourself doing?
Coming home videos make you want to want only hetero monogamy and are also propaganda for military on its own, which stops you from doing the healing you were doing. I’m kinda rambling but also feel like it makes some sense?

The basic concept is taking currency out of the equation to make a class-less society (of course with everyone having their needs met)

    • @someoldytaccount
      @someoldytaccount 2 года назад +1

I'll break it down for you :)
So, it's a social, political, and economical concept.
It aims to form a stateless, classless, moneyless society
The means of production is owned by the workers
And everyone contributes to this society according to their abilities, and receives things from this society according to their needs.
I also recommend learning the differences between private property (which communism aims to make workers' owned) and personal property. Communism isn't going to take away your toothbrush or family possessions (that's personal property), it seeks to re-distribute private property and other necessary resources that are required to live (shelter, food, hygiene, etc.) and that are all currently owned, stockpiled, and regulated by the upper class. By re-distributing the resources, we take away the excess accrued by the upper class who favour themselves and their kind first, and give it to those who need it more to just literally survive.
Remember, each person contributes according to their ability and receives according to their needs.
Example: someone is elderly and unable to participate (contribute) in the running of the community. But they aren't just forced to continue to participate because they need the money (which is what happens under capitalism), they take up a less intensive role in the community that doesn't harm their body or mind. Despite being in a less intensive role, they are still as valued as a member of the community, and would still receive the necessary help needed to live a good life through the distribution of food, shelter, etc.
Hope that explains it! Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
