The rifle arrived today and I dialed in the scope just a couple hours ago ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL . I haven’t shot with a scope in probably 25 years. The X on the left was my target. (the shot almost in the bullseye on the right X was my father in laws first shot after I made adjustments) The two shots circled are my first 2 shots. Then I brought it down - shot once. Then brought it over to the left. From there zeroed it in to dead center. This all was from 25 yards out. Follow instructions carefully when mounting the scope. So far I'm very happy with the purchase.
Ezekiel I have been to their factory and when you see 100 odd local workers knocking off for the day, it gives me a sense of pride to buy their product...
Great Rifle. After zeroing mine I shot 3 consecutive 3 shot groups .29, .54 and .37" with OSA factory Blitz King ammo. I reckon I pulled 1 shot in the second group. I went out and bought a 900 rnd can and haven't looked back.
Thanks so much Ozzie I’m new to the sport .So new I’m still waiting for my license. All my research has led me back to either the Tikka or the lithgo LA 102 in 223 . The finish and quality on the lithgo looks really inviting and your down to earth reviews give fantastic feedback. The lithgo made rifle has helped give us the freedom we have today so I’m all for supporting an Aussie made and developed quality product. So with that my decision is made ,the lithgo it is . Thanks Ozzie keep at it . Jezza
Hey Ozzie, I have just bought one of these in Laminate stock, and waiting for the paperwork to go through. I'm just wondering how would it go with a 50mm objective lens Leupold scope ..?
Well done review Ozzie. I could not wait for it and bought the LA102 in 223 (and LA101 too) based on your previous reviews and feel very happy about both rifles. Thank you.
Hey Dude, I'm about to get my first rifles and was thinking how much I like the look of these and would it be weird to have identical rifles - 1 x .22 and one .223. How are you liking them ..? Any issues ..?
Just tested out my brand new La 101 which I bought after watching your review on the weekend. Fantastic. This is my next rifle thanks ozzie. Was my great pleasure to get to meet you at the Brisbane shot show. Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie ! ! !
If Lithgow made a 7mm rem mag I'd be buying one no matter what it cost... after watching this review I purchased one in the walnut stock and it is an amazing peice of kit
Fantastic review as always; thanks very much for sharing. Great selection of ammo featured in the review too. Looks like an amazing rifle, and glad to say that I have one on the way; thanks for confirming that I appear to have made a good choice!
Much love for my Lithgow .22! Got a few .22 in the safe now including a vintage Krico and borderline antique Mauser , while the old German rifles are beautiful, Lithgow runs circles around them and any other .22 ive shot which includes some lovely old Brnos. My best group is about .6moa so far, still finding exactly what it likes to eat though, as well as improving myself so its only getting tighter! If i didn't have a Sako .223 (i gun napped it from a mate who doesn't use it)in the safe already,id be grabbing a Lithgow for sure! If the Sako gets re-possed by its owner, I know what ill be buying! I found a nice all original all matching Lithgow no1 mk3 that when i finish paying it of will keep the .22 company!
My favorite centerfire cartridge, and I can only dream of owning a Lithgow, as they don't seem to be available here in Canada. At least I can't find a retail dealer who can help me, yet.
The 73 grain Hornady was too heavy (or too long) for the 1 in 9 twist to stabilize. Apparently, the 69 grain Lapua was stable, but it might lose stability farther out, like say 350 yards, and widen up. Everything lighter was stabilized by the twist rate. AR-15 guys, of which I understand there are now none in Australia, use a 1-in-7" twist rate for the heavy .223 projectiles.
I would really like to get my hands on a LA102 .223, but I can’t for the life of me find the compatibility list for rifle stocks for example the LA105 has the KRG X-ray but no where can I find it expressed that KRG make a X-ray stock available for purchase otherwise
.223 is such a fun and effective round. I own a few myself. Including AR's. It is a caliber that is very important to match rate of twist and bullet weight. Best quality rifles and ammo but get off with either and you will see the difference in your groups. Good stuff!
I am waiting on my LA 102 223 have been for 2 months the gun shop said it is passing through customs yet I am in Queensland and they say the Lithgow is Australian made then why is it passing through customs please explain.
We were one of the first to order and waited a LONG time. In the scheme of things, it's a small factory mixing it with the best so the rifles will probably never sit on shop racks a dozen at a time. The customs thing may have been a stupid joke or a retail newbie trying to make excuses. Your wait will be worth it.
Hey Ozzie, is this laser engraving that's been filled in with paint? I'd love to know what process so I can get a similar thing done on one of my rifles.
You call it a laminate stock. I call it a plywood stock. What glue is used to laminate the stock and how long until it starts to delaminate if used frequently in wet or damp weather ? It's a bit of a worry to me.
Hi Ozzie, I currently own a La101 Synthetic and Im looking for a 223, Im trying to decide between the Tikka T3X Lite Stainless or the Lithgow La102 in the Laminate which you reviewed in this video what would you recommend ?
Hello Ozzie, I'm am very interested in buying one of the new Lithgow LA105 Woomera rifles in .308 and I just wanted to know if you had any plans to review the Woomera?
So Aussie, I'm torn ..! I'm about to get my first ever rifles at age 52 years old.... I want 22 LR and .223 I have been going to a rifle club and also want to so some hunting and "pest control". I really want to "Buy Australian" with the Lithgow, but I have the opportunity to buy The CZ 452LR Farewell edition and a CZ457.223 "EBONY" both beautiful rifles. I guess I have maybe 10 to 15 years of shooting in me.... What to do... What to do ..?
Good on ya Ozzie! Great review. Just waiting for my PTA and tossing up a 243 or 223 for mostly roo shooting. What would you recommend? I do a little on foot but hoping to do a bit more from the buggy. I want something really accurate. Been using a Remington .223 pump action and not overly impressed but OK to carry around.
Britishshooter 1 second ago ozziereviews, posting this again because I am not sure how often you check your comments on older vis. Anyway I saw your other video about with the comprehensive breakdown of the gun laws. I am considering moving to Queensland as a farmer so as a primary producer, in short, am I right to think that I would be able to license a semi auto shotgun (incidentally any barrel length restrictions?), a semi auto .22 rimfire and a semi auto 308 rifle and a 9mm semi auto pistol for feral vermin control?
You can get a semi-auto rimfire rifle up to 10 rounds and a pump/semi-auto shotgun up to 5 rounds easily enough as a primary producer. You will run into a mountain of road blocks for a handgun and semi-auto centrefire rifle as a primary producer.
ozziereviews. Thanks mate, I can live without the semi auto centrefire but it looks like I must find a farm near a pistol club so I can eventually get a pistol again. Lost mine in the 1997 ban. Can you store your club pistols at home or do they have at remain at the club?
Because it's not a lightweight hunting rifle and it has a Varmint-like heavy barrel for rested shooting, but it's light enough to take out hunting if you need to
If they are a demo/loan, they go back to their respective owner, however most of the gear that I have reviewed has been purchased from my own money and I will sell it off from time to time to make way for new product...
Ozzie. not sure if you have answered this yet but where did you get the stock engraved?? Looks mint and I would be very interested in getting something done on my rifle after I get it.
Hey Ozzie I have decided to get a LA102 in .223 for my first centrefire after waiting for your review. I am tossing up a polymer vs laminate. I have heard the polymer is front heavy. Can you confirm that? If it is i would probably go the laminate. Great review as always.
Not at all, go in to your local gun store and pick one up and put it up to your shoulder, that's the best way to determine if it feels unbalanced to you...
while i cannot speak for ozzie, i would gues of the reason is that as the United States is the largest civilian gun market in the world alot of the gear uses imperial measurements as that is what the americans use. In addition to this a good number of people were taught to shoot using imperial measurements (though this is changing) and a good number of the older ranges were measured out in imperial units.
They can get Lever , bolt action rifles or Shotguns plus Semi auto pistols or revolvers with the proper license , it’s just harder than other countries like the USA for example . Semi auto rifles are hard to get but not impossible , it can only be licensed for occupational reasons . I suggest you to read about category A B H firearm laws in Australia . You’ll understand it better .
I would get one to support Aussie made, but unfortunately the rail is a massive massive let down. Scope is way too far from the barrel and I like to get a solid cheek rest from the stock, not my chin.
timmyjg1981 not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not? nothing wrong with the groups from the good ammo. I just really like my scopes to be as low on the barrel as possible and lean my cheek into the stock, like with the tikkas
live loud are you Australian? If not, you wouldn't understand why it IS fantastic that it's made in Australia. Supporting our firearm economy and keep Aussies in jobs. Pretty good deal if you ask me, near perfect quality rifle made by a fellow Aussie for a VERY fair price.
I purchased a LA102 in 223 because I wanted to buy Australian but when I registered for warranty and also wanted to get in contact with them I had no response. Great rifle but their communication is non existent. I am up for buying more rifles but I won't be buying a lithgow.

Glad to see the support for local lithgow workers
Ezekiel I have been to their factory and when you see 100 odd local workers knocking off for the day, it gives me a sense of pride to buy their product...
Finally the 223 lithgow review love the gun
Great Rifle. After zeroing mine I shot 3 consecutive 3 shot groups .29, .54 and .37" with OSA factory Blitz King ammo. I reckon I pulled 1 shot in the second group. I went out and bought a 900 rnd can and haven't looked back.
Nice shootin Tex.... The Lithgow is truly a fantastic rifle. Great review as usual..

No problem mate, enjoy the fun of it!
Hey Ozzie, I have just bought one of these in Laminate stock, and waiting for the paperwork to go through. I'm just wondering how would it go with a 50mm objective lens Leupold scope ..?
Love that 'Australian Made'🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Just purchased this. Synthetic stock with 10 round magazine and 3-9x50 scope package from Cleaver. Thanks for the review Ozzie.
Well done review Ozzie. I could not wait for it and bought the LA102 in 223 (and LA101 too) based on your previous reviews and feel very happy about both rifles. Thank you.

Ordered mine yesterday! Matched it up with an Optika6 2.5-15x44
Looking forward to getting some time behind it!
Just tested out my brand new La 101 which I bought after watching your review on the weekend. Fantastic. This is my next rifle thanks ozzie. Was my great pleasure to get to meet you at the Brisbane shot show. Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie ! ! !
Thank you Paul, I'm glad your like your Lithgow, the truly are a great brand of rifles...
If Lithgow made a 7mm rem mag I'd be buying one no matter what it cost... after watching this review I purchased one in the walnut stock and it is an amazing peice of kit
Definetly one ill be buying (if i ever get around to finishing off the licence stuff- just so damn busy)
How did you go?
I like the short goose neck grip angle.
. Also the straight level area of rear stock for bag rest,
.
As always great honest review. Good work oz.
THANKS FOR YOUR INFO ON LITHGOW . I HAVE NOW GONE WITH LITHGOW 223REM`GONE AUSSIE WITH MY FIRST RIFEL LITHGOW 223 REM CHEERS MATE
Excellent review, purchased 223 yesterday in timber stock
Fantastic review as always; thanks very much for sharing. Great selection of ammo featured in the review too. Looks like an amazing rifle, and glad to say that I have one on the way; thanks for confirming that I appear to have made a good choice!
That is one Sharp looking rifle!
Much love for my Lithgow .22! Easy to use and clean. Very convenient.
My favorite centerfire cartridge, and I can only dream of owning a Lithgow, as they don't seem to be available here in Canada. At least I can't find a retail dealer who can help me, yet.
Legacy Sports here in the US imports Lithgow rifles.
Reg Sparkes get them to order one across for you.
Elwood Epps in Ontario has then
4 years later and now I'm seeing them lol
Yess I've been waiting for you to do this review 😀
Ginger Ninja I did it a few weeks back now but just had to edit it and upload :)
Another great review, thank you Ozzie
Grant G you’re welcome, glad you enjoyed it mate cheers
Great accuracy at this price point. Now I have to find out if a local store here at the other side of the globe can help me get one
big action for a little round
Sorry, didn't hear your final comment on chambering a fifth round until I played it through again.
The 73 grain Hornady was too heavy (or too long) for the 1 in 9 twist to stabilize. Apparently, the 69 grain Lapua was stable, but it might lose stability farther out, like say 350 yards, and widen up. Everything lighter was stabilized by the twist rate. This is a beautiful looking rifle
Lewis Hamos they make a laminate with a black cerakote too, looks sweet as!
I would really like to get my hands on a LA102 .223, but I can’t for the life of me find the compatibility list for rifle stocks for example the LA105 has the KRG X-ray but no where can I find it expressed that KRG make a X-ray stock available for purchase otherwise
Excellent 👍👍👍
Australian reviews are best.
.223 is such a fun and effective round. I own a few myself. Including AR's. It is a caliber that is very important to match rate of twist and bullet weight. Best quality rifles and ammo but get off with either and you will see the difference in your groups. Good stuff!
Was thinking about one of these in .308 but my local gun store doesn't sell Lithgow.
That's very strange, oh well just buy one from another gun shop and get it shipped to your local gun shop...
Mine just arrived at the lgs waiting on pta now :-D
Luke Leong awesome mate, what configuration did you get?
223, synth stock, black barrel, 5-20 burris veracity.
I am waiting on my LA 102 223 have been for 2 months the gun shop said it is passing through customs yet I am in Queensland and they say the Lithgow is Australian made then why is it passing through customs please explain.
Daryl Thurston someone is lying to you. These rifles are made here and shipped from Lithgow nsw to dealers.
We were one of the first to order and waited a LONG time. In the scheme of things, it's a small factory mixing it with the best so the rifles will probably never sit on shop racks a dozen at a time. The customs thing may have been a stupid joke or a retail newbie trying to make excuses. Your wait will be worth it.
after the 15:00 mark you can see the ricochets coming close to the camera
I use the 55 grain sierra game king ànd have great results.
I looked at one of these and thought the scope mount was a little high
Is that scope touching the rail at the rear? It looks like it is.
Hey Ozzie, is this laser engraving that's been filled in with paint? I'd love to know what process so I can get a similar thing done on one of my rifles.
if you were going to buy a 223 would you buy a lithgow la102 or a tika t3 varmint thanks!
Lithgow all day every day
can you do a video on the Remington 783
I bought a Tikka T3x 223rem the other day, 500yds is no thing for it.
Definitely getting one. Would be keen to see what they would be like silenced ?
suppressors are illegal here in Australia maybe with a muzzle break would help
Can you get bigger mags?
... aftermarket 10 round mags available now..
Which did you end up with, and thoughts?
Hello Ozzie, I'm am very interested in buying one of the new Lithgow LA105 Woomera rifles in .308 and I just wanted to know if you had any plans to review the Woomera?
Can you review the latest cheap Mauser.
Not a thing.
The magazine hold four rounds but you were shooting five round groups so I am assuming a fifth round can be loaded directly into the chamber?
0:54 someone else is shooting as well 👍
Good evening.. Can this rifle shoot 5.56 NATO?
Still can't find this gun in NZ
So Aussie, I'm torn ..!
I'm about to get my first ever rifles at age 52 years old.... I want 22 LR and .223 I have been going to a rifle club and also want to so some hunting and "pest control".

Buy what feels best in your hands
What is the largest game animal in Australia? What do you hunt with a .223?
Buffalo is the largest. As for the 223, wild dogs, pigs and kangaroo harvesting...
ozziereviews camel, donkey...
223 - cheaper ammo, doesn't heat up as quickly as 243, less noise and no over penetration like 243 has on roos.

But is it worth double the price compared to the Ruger American 223 which you reviewed as having great accuracy as well, Aussie-made factor aside?
It's double the quality and finish
Why is this called a crossover rifle series
Because it's not a lightweight hunting rifle and it has a Varmint-like heavy barrel for rested shooting, but it's light enough to take out hunting if you need to
What happens to the rifles when you're finished with them? I'd doubt you'd keep all of them ahah.

Barrel twist not suitable for 75gn

Mitch Grant as I said in this review the laminate is heavier then the polymer.
ozziereviews Thanks for reply. I meant more front heavy and unbalanced.
Not at all, go in to your local gun store and pick one up and put it up to your shoulder, that's the best way to determine if it feels unbalanced to you...
Nice comprehensive review as always. How does the action compare to a Tika?
Navenator just the same, smooth as silk
Why do you use imperial measurements?

Exactly
Very nice rifle mate. Is it chambered in 270 as well?
In centre fire, Lithgow currently only make 223, 243, 6.5cm and 308.
Hey Ozzie, do you use 223 when you're hunting? If so, what do you prefer - sporter or varmint barrels
Could you please do a review on a Kimber SVT
Ozzie, ossies can own firearms! I thought all guns we're band, and illegal for public ownership.
They can get Lever , bolt action rifles or Shotguns plus Semi auto pistols or revolvers with the proper license , it’s just harder than other countries like the USA for example . Semi auto rifles are hard to get but not impossible , it can only be licensed for occupational reasons .

@@tun0fun I’m pretty sure you can’t remove it
How many wimps are there a standard WW2 army rifle weighed 8 pounds carried all day and night
Lol
The standard car back then also had 50hp, you should go get a 50hp car since you don’t need a new 250hp one, wimp
💕😛
Made in Australia isn't that fantastic
live loud are you Australian? If not, you wouldn't understand why it IS fantastic that it's made in Australia. Supporting our firearm economy and keep Aussies in jobs. Pretty good deal if you ask me, near perfect quality rifle made by a fellow Aussie for a VERY fair price.
this is a mint rife and lithgow know how to make guns! there making some beauty's
I purchased a LA102 in 223 because I wanted to buy Australian but when I registered for warranty and also wanted to get in contact with them I had no response. Great rifle but their communication is non existent. I am up for buying more rifles but I won't be buying a lithgow.
