2:05 This guy dubbed Sasuke from naruto, Ishida from bleach and Vyce from tactics ogre. I like the fact that in all of these, the character switch sides to the enemy at some point 😏
Wow Canopus and Tatatos went to the extremes in both the English and Japanese voice acting. Really shows how Voice Actors and Directors can really manipulate our mood and take of the characters.
Nybeth was so much fun in this version. I also liked the English dub, but this one takes the cake due to the balance between playful curiosity and irredeemable evil.
On the whole, I'm too much of a purist, so I probably prefer most of the Japanese voices. I think the main one that outright sounds better in the dub is Hobyrim's. The Japanese one sounds too old for someone in his thirties. I'd say the Balxephon VAs are roughly equal. The brothers got a good deal in the dub.
Same dude. 90 percent of my friends and even my siblings watch or play Japanese games in their original voice dub. I can never go back to English, in my honest opinion they just do not feel realistic, I know how weird that sounds for a game that takes place Ina pretty much European fantasy type setting. But the Japanese voices just feel more natural for a game that was made by them. Generally English voice actors while I don't think they are bad at their job, just the dialogue their given makes them sound very cringe. To each their own however, both are available to enjoy however anyone wishes to enjoy it which makes me happy. 😊
the voice acting in this took my by suprise on both parts. not gonna lie, I typically turn on japanese when playing a game from japan because some dubs can be, well...ya know. suprised this game has a great balance of voice acting.
I couldn't disagree more with the look on Canopus voice. Not only did I believe the English delivery was too over the top, the Japanese voice didn't sound any more mature than other comedy relief characters in genre. That, and the Japanese actor's delivery probably works better with the jokes in that version's script.
You have a point, the japanese dubbing has a lot of particularities and a different kind of humor that I'm personally not a big fan of. Also, I'm a big fan of Canopus' english dub, so I may be being biased in the review. Personal preference I guess
Hard disagree on Canopous and Leonar, they're infinitly better than their english counterparts, but that could be said about most of the Japanese cast, The english cast wasn't nearly as bad as Triangle Strategy, but it was bad.
@@WarrenReport That's fair, ultimetaly Dub vs Sub is heavely influenced by personal preference, obviously my opinion is no fact. I kinda overreacted a bit because I love Japanese Leonar and really hate English Canopous. I want to point out 2 Lines in particular for Japanese Leonar I love, since he started off kinda meh to me as well but grew into the role: His death dialogue in Law and Neutral are probablly my favorite performance in the game between both dubs. As for Canopous it's just his english VA takes me out of the game every he opens his mouth, he over-acts a lot, I know it's something the community is heavely divided on though since i've seen a lot of people who hate him as well or Love him instead.
bit of a disservice to the va's though. I hate to break it to you, but there are people who are japanese who enjoy this voice acting and really like the english dub of this and fire emblem three houses.
and there are people who don't enjoy it, i don't see your point. No idea why people get so defensive about VAs, some people don't like their performances, it's the same in every work. You wouldn't say dislking a game is a disservice to the devs.@@professorpenne9962
Dang, Canopus from overseas was an odd one. Still prefer the English Catiua, personally, just comes across as bitter and distant, which fits, I thought.
Japanese didn't feel right for me... Its and epic medieval Fantasy tale so can't force it. Anime games with lolis and neko fun characters yeah that needs japanese.
Same Voice Actors:
Prancet and Tartaros (Satoshi Mikami)
Mreuva and Balxephon (Kenyu Horiuchi)

Serious? I actually thought it was a lot like something I'd heard, good to know! A great job for him on all these characters
Shirou Emiya too! And he can be a less than desirable person in some endings of the novel
Wow Canopus and Tatatos went to the extremes in both the English and Japanese voice acting. Really shows how Voice Actors and Directors can really manipulate our mood and take of the characters.
When something goes very wrong, they are the ones we need to focus on. A great voice actor can be spoiled with a lousy director
Nybeth was so much fun in this version. I also liked the English dub, but this one takes the cake due to the balance between playful curiosity and irredeemable evil.
Surprisingly nice, I don't know which of the two versions I prefer
nybeth is S in both imo

It's hard to get used to japanese dubbing, there are a lot of nuances that I personally can't get used to

I agree with you, they did a great job overall in both English and Japanese

There are a lot of better english voices for me, but I admit it might just be me being weird with the japanese style of dubbing

Canopus sounds fine putting him on warcrime is a bit harsh.
I'm a bit harsh, I'm old
@@WarrenReport Understandable, but still harsh.
True indeed
You should do one for the sega saturn voices
Good idea!
Dang, Canopus from overseas was an odd one. Still prefer the English Catiua, personally, just comes across as bitter and distant, which fits, I thought.
I hate Catiua's english dubbing, thats all
@@WarrenReport Fair enough
I most like English voices then Japanese. But I have full of respect for Japanese ❤❤❤ for create this Wonderful GEM 💎
Both versions are good in their unique specifics, it ends up being more in personal opinion to decide the preference
Hard disagree on Cressida
See her performance at the 1st Nybeth fight in Palace of the Dead.
Will you make me play it all again until then? Hehehe But I believe in you, no problem
Wait is this voice fake? I just heard it on an Ad.
Fake? No, no... It's xenobian magic!
Japanese didn't feel right for me...
Its and epic medieval Fantasy tale so can't force it.
