      This is totally correct and an under discussed subject. I’ve marked 8.5×11” (close to 5x7) with a marker pen on the back of my screen. Permanently.
      As discussed 3x2 is a old film format suited for landscape and a very stupid format for camera sensors. You compose unintentionally by that rate, what is looking good in the viewfinder, to find bad crops in post. It goes beyond the obvious “move back a feet”.

    I am surprised to hear you mention 9x12. Is that actually a common size? I thought I was the odd one printing 9x12. I ended up at 9x12 in a odd way. The Hobby Lobby carries 9x12 profolio's at great prices. Those 9x12 profolios are the max size I can fit in my bookshelf.

      Same here, bookshelf size, and found some albums 9x12. It's also on the "size threshold" in some labs before the price changes.
