- The draw for the 2025 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations has finally taken place, with hosts Morocco facing Mali, Zambia and Comoros in Group A. Egypt will take on South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe in Group B, while Nigeria begin their quest for a first title since 2013 against Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania in Group C. FRANCE 24's James Vasina is joined by football consultants Ruben Slagter and Karim Baldé for analysis.

Karim, Casablanca is home to the most intense football derby in Africa. Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca is the only rivalry in the continent where both teams always compete for the CAF champions league (and both have won in in the past decade). The current home stadium is only 67000 seats and was always full. So yes, the new stadium WILL be used.
Secondly, Morocco wants to host future international sporting events, on top of the national team game (men and women).
So don't worry about the long term planning.. Morocco doesn't have Oil or gas so it cannot afford to build the largest stadium in the world only for one tournament.
