Is not just the amount of beautiful and cute or even cool outfits they've been pulling off for years, it's also their own sound, also the dance routines and the fact that now every time a new song gets released, I always get excited at the idea of listening to their band version of it. As a band they've also improved so much and keep improving every day. Even missing the graduated members, I've never get the feeling that the current group is lacking on anything. I also love how they've got different front girls for the last singles, because there's no member in this group that cannot become a real ace. Perhaps, this is the most serious song from this last year and a half, a little more edgier than the last releases and reminding me of the One World songs, while the look is more reminiscent of their indie days. But what I enjoy is that they can bring different types of rock sound into the idol music scene. I really wish that this year they can gain better exposure and sells, like it happened with Predia. I trully believe they are still underrated as idols by the general audiences.

nah, it can't be their last unless all the girls decide to leave. So far, what they had been doing the last 3 years, even with the two graduations happening, is keep growing their musical interest into the band and also in the general affairs. Like how they decided to start playing instruments but not just stopping on a single. Not doing it just for the show but actually kept learning and practising to become able to play more songs, until BAND PASSPO became a new reality for them. They also decided not to add any new members, not to repeat the second generation auditions that also ended with Plaet being born instead of a second generation being add into Passpo. Instead, they said they would produce a group. Pucchi Passpo may not be the best idea in the idol world, but still it's been their child and the girls put a lot of effort into helping these girls become an indie idol act. Meanwhile, their music has continued to expand on the rock genre and even with the change of labels, they have done all sorts of things to keep experimenting and trying to regain some popularity among the over-saturated idol market. When they actually decided to ride the promotional truck one member per day, that was putting a lot of though into their own way of promoting. It must be hard for them to see that Predia managed to actually climb further than them on sells and popularity, while they were stagnating on that department. Yet the group has never lost interest on their own music and activities. There's no new song from them that doesn't bring a feel of them being really involved into what they are doing as idols, and their videos keep showing they are actually enjoying what they do. I love to see their constant updates on Twitter, with whatever concerts they do, their instrument practices, etc. It may be faked and for the show, but one has the perception they are actually really committed to what they do and that is the reason why their albums come always so rounded. I think I can't say I dislike any of their albums, from the indies to the major ones. Perhaps, my favourites are ONE WORLD, JET JET JET & Beef or Chiken, because they started adding more different types of rock, not all the songs were idol-cheerful, and the work of their Band efforts started to show up on the last one. But I believe they still have a lot to discover and to offer, so we will be probably seeing even better albums than the upcoming one, which I expect to be really entertaining just with the singles we've got so far. I just hope that the general audiences can get to appreciate it and help their sells become stronger, because that is also one important factor if we want more great albums from them in a future.
I found the review. It's from, literally, one year ago. Late 2015 leading up to that review was fairly quiet. 2016 (if we can include Sako's graduation) saw a change of members, theme, and label and both relatively few sales and hits. Yururirapo disbanded, and sanmini's membership and apparently sound, has also been heavily changed. Even though the person making the review didn't know all that at the time, these are all cause for some concern even up to now. A meddling executive could ruin things... stop supporting them so strongly, or force a change of sound. If a group is stagnating in terms of money, all sorts of unfortunate things can happen if the wrong person is put in charge, even if by comparison to the swarms of groups out there, Passpo is still a well-known and popular group with decent sales. That's the sort of stuff that happens with a label change. It's a scary time. However, I do like to think that as Kentaro Akutsu's pet project, they have additional protection from tampering. That he'll just keep making the sort of music he likes for them no matter what. That's my hope. And it looks like it'll continue at least through Cinema Trip... and hopefully long after.
"Playground", "Music Navigation" and "Fukutsu no Resistance" are awesome. What I most of all like about "Fukutsu no Resistance" is the fact that Kentaro always brings out the best of 'his' girls by pushing them to the max of their capabilities. Mori shines like never before! (Just like Akane and Rumina do on the new Predia single and Sakurako did on 'Tears Again'). About the future of Passpo, this is what I think: finally they're at the beginning of reinventing themselves. Something they (their management?) should have started a long time ago. Now that sales are decimated and their backs are pretty much against the wall they get the opportunity to invest in their musicianship on a decent level by having a band show every 1-2 weeks instead of once or twice a year. If they want to turn the band project into a success they must first and foremost pamper Naomi and give her all the time and mentoring she needs (so no more Hacchake Tai /Puchi /modelling whatever) so she can focus on becoming a decent guitarist, because that's what lacking the most right now imo. Not that they should strive to become a fulltime band, but the combination of a more or less competent band / excellent dance unit gives them the unique selling point (it's business after all) that's needed in an overcrowded market. At last they made some sort of commitment last fall so everything is not yet lost. So I'm super curious how their band performance will look like by ,for starters, this summer, with 20-30-40 shows under their belt. Especially Mio is starting to show more confidence with every show already, so who knows, maybe in the long run she can become the rockstar she always dreamed to be. ps. I think that this is what they are seeking. Also I like the fact they didn't run on this subject. They first committed to learn instruments to be able to play a song. Then they kept practicing all they could to be able to play a few more (two for a while) and incorporate more band segments on their flights. Then they increased the instrument practices, but I am not sure if they are also doing individual lessons or at least as much as they would need to improve their own skills, not just working on blending the whole thing to perform better as a band. Yes, they need to get Naomi to play decently the guitar, but I also believe that Nachu should start learning some other instrument. The best comparision I can find is Kanjani as a band. As a group, when they were formed they weren't equally trained on their instruments, but with the years, Okura became a more than just decent percussionist. The boy only wanted to dance but now he's no joke on the drums or playing taiko. Then, there's Yoko. Bless him LOL, Yoko was our internal bongo joke, because as a group, Kanjani has sometimes very silly instrument posicions LOL, but he started learning to play the trumpet and he has even improved a little with that. Of course, as a rock band, Kanjani became quickly solidified because despite of some members playing a less important role, they still had Subaru, Yasu & Ryo whom were able to carry the rest. I feel that in Passpo, the one that quickly impressed me was Anna with the drums, then I see Mio really involved with her bass. It was good that Yukimi learned to play the guitar as well so the position of DJ was finally discarded (it was a little off for a rock band). I also see the role of them being a band the key to their future. It made a LOT for Kanjani (being Johnny's, and one of the worst at vocals from that company, minus a few of them), as much as the popularity rise of Ryo and Okura did (they weren't the most important group to promote inside the company back then). At the end, is what made them attractive for those fans whom aren't too keen on the rest of the company groups but still can cope with the likes of TOKIO. It also helped them to set on a very interesting night show (Kan JAM) and to finally get their own independent label (so they could take more control on what they were recording musically). But I also don't want them to stop dancing, because I trully think they are one of the best J-idols dancing groups with really great to watch routines, as well as opposed to Predia, whom I still find a little bit lacking on dancing charisma, this group irradiates attitude when performing their choreographies. PS: You can keep posting long replies. I really enjoy reading your opinions and discussing such an interesting idol group. ;P
Yeah, people grow up, usually for j-idols and other sort of groups, they start such a young age that they easily loose members in the way or even interest. But it seems is the opposite with the remaining members of this group. I love the fact that they are so irregular on their lives. Sometimes they kill all their notes vocally, and match all the keys, and sometimes they are just too excited singing to care LOL. But their dance has always been on point.
Why did I miss this MV?! Why didn't I see this before? And why a Halloween-ish MV In January/February lol? Finally a new sound for PASSPO (I love Honey Dish, Mr. Wednesday and Bachelorette, but they all kinda sound the same) I LOVE IT. Oh and the album is released on my birthday, what a wonderful gift!
You missed it because you aren't following them/subscribed. =P And this is posted to Nippon Crown so it takes a little longer to get traction... it took about a week to get to 10000 hits, and then only about one more to get to 50000 once people realized it was here. Since it passed 50000 hits they released the dance shot on the PASSPO channel yesterday. Most of the new songs on the album are themed for each member using a different type of movie theme. I guess they thought this one would be the most fun for a leading track. And I guess they like the theme... WANTED!!, WING and Beast in You at the very least have similar elements. Make sure to check out the other songs "Music Navigation" and "Fukutsu no Resistance" as well if you can find them... they're revealing a new song on their tour basically every week until the CD's release date.

Groups that split up singing responsibilities can start having more complicated dance routines though. It's probably also easier to adapt it to Band PASSPO. So I dunno... I'm white passen but it's still fine by me to have the song like this.
and they've been also rotating leads for a while now. So there are songs for everyone to shine in turns. It really doesn't bother me, because this is not the sort of group that pushes their members aside just because of lines distributions. Not always singing more equals being highlighted over the rest of the members. Plus, as you said, they are working a lot on the Band concept to be able to do more lives like that using the songs from idol-dance Passpo, it also allows them to have a more complex dance routine.
I realized last week that they are not really wearing cabin attendand outfits but theater usherette inspired outfits. Just like all their outfits since chicken and beef (?). It only looks like a throback Passpo because the usherette designs doesn't differ too much from what classy cabin attendants would wear and what Passpo brought before.
Mio didn't design it this time and I don't know who did so it's not easy to tell without the designer's input or sketches. The girls themselves have only called it "CA feeling" to my knowledge, and the outfits still have to have enough of that feeling to work in the PV, where they are actual CA. But, it's a good catch. My impression is this is something the designer wouldn't have missed- and the design was intentionally made to use elements of both (eg, while attendants sometimes also used this shape of hat and it wouldn't be out of place on an attendant, it's the shape of hat usherettes usually use). But again, without the designer's notes or comments it's hard to say for sure.
the thing is, the last uniforms have all been inspired from different jobs, etc. but mashed up with the cabin attendant ones. I do believe these ones are mostly usherette inspired, by the way they've worked the hats but also the buttoning, although it's not army inspired like most of usherette's uniforms, is more prominent. The collars and the end for the waist line is also something that is closer to the cabin attendant uniforms, but has a different feel and approach in this version. But what made me realize they might be actually be inspired by usherettes are the promotional photos, with them actually seating in a movie theater.
Every Halloween, I come back here to rewatch this music video. I miss Passpo lots but forever thankful for their music!

At the end, is what made them attractive for those fans whom aren't too keen on the rest of the company groups but still can cope with the likes of TOKIO. It also helped them to set on a very interesting night show (Kan JAM) and to finally get their own independent label (so they could take more control on what they were recording musically).
But I also don't want them to stop dancing, because I trully think they are one of the best J-idols dancing groups with really great to watch routines, as well as opposed to Predia, whom I still find a little bit lacking on dancing charisma, this group irradiates attitude when performing their choreographies.

Yeah, people grow up, usually for j-idols and other sort of groups, they start such a young age that they easily loose members in the way or even interest. But it seems is the opposite with the remaining members of this group.
I love the fact that they are so irregular on their lives. Sometimes they kill all their notes vocally, and match all the keys, and sometimes they are just too excited singing to care LOL. But their dance has always been on point.

You missed it because you aren't following them/subscribed. =P And this is posted to Nippon Crown so it takes a little longer to get traction... it took about a week to get to 10000 hits, and then only about one more to get to 50000 once people realized it was here. Since it passed 50000 hits they released the dance shot on the PASSPO channel yesterday.
Most of the new songs on the album are themed for each member using a different type of movie theme. I guess they thought this one would be the most fun for a leading track. And I guess they like the theme... WANTED!!, WING and Beast in You at the very least have similar elements.
Make sure to check out the other songs "Music Navigation" and "Fukutsu no Resistance" as well if you can find them... they're revealing a new song on their tour basically every week until the CD's release date.

WING and WANTED!! are indeed two of my favourite songs by them, my favourite being 2DAYS, One World is my favourite PASSPO album. What I meant is a new sound in a while.

Groups that split up singing responsibilities can start having more complicated dance routines though. It's probably also easier to adapt it to Band PASSPO. So I dunno... I'm white passen but it's still fine by me to have the song like this.
and they've been also rotating leads for a while now. So there are songs for everyone to shine in turns. It really doesn't bother me, because this is not the sort of group that pushes their members aside just because of lines distributions. Not always singing more equals being highlighted over the rest of the members. Plus, as you said, they are working a lot on the Band concept to be able to do more lives like that using the songs from idol-dance Passpo, it also allows them to have a more complex dance routine.

I realized last week that they are not really wearing cabin attendand outfits but theater usherette inspired outfits. Just like all their outfits since chicken and beef (?). It only looks like a throback Passpo because the usherette designs doesn't differ too much from what classy cabin attendants would wear and what Passpo brought before.
Mio didn't design it this time and I don't know who did so it's not easy to tell without the designer's input or sketches. The girls themselves have only called it "CA feeling" to my knowledge, and the outfits still have to have enough of that feeling to work in the PV, where they are actual CA. But, it's a good catch. My impression is this is something the designer wouldn't have missed- and the design was intentionally made to use elements of both (eg, while attendants sometimes also used this shape of hat and it wouldn't be out of place on an attendant, it's the shape of hat usherettes usually use). But again, without the designer's notes or comments it's hard to say for sure.
the thing is, the last uniforms have all been inspired from different jobs, etc. but mashed up with the cabin attendant ones. I do believe these ones are mostly usherette inspired, by the way they've worked the hats but also the buttoning, although it's not army inspired like most of usherette's uniforms, is more prominent. The collars and the end for the waist line is also something that is closer to the cabin attendant uniforms, but has a different feel and approach in this version.
But what made me realize they might be actually be inspired by usherettes are the promotional photos, with them actually seating in a movie theater.
