- While Canada is not in the middle of a federal election campaign, the Conservatives and Liberals already have ad campaigns to try to influence voters.
For now, the two parties are taking very different approaches in their advertising.
David Akin explains how the Tories are following the same strategy as the Liberals' 2015 ad campaign and whom the Liberals are trying to compare Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to.

I voted liberal in 2015 to get marijuana legally available so my Dad would have more pain control options & not have to take the pills that were slowly killing him. Liberals emphasize on sustainable growth not based on financial profit only but also on environment achievements. Conservative seems not involved to environmental issues, innovations for sustainability is developing everywhere and Canada may lose competitiveness.

Poilievre's been a rabid right wing ideologue since age 14. And 11 years after that a Conservative MP - now going on 19+ years. He is totally out of touch with the majority of average Canadians. Especially since he disenfranchised 172,000 of them out of their vote. The "phoney and unhinged" characterization more accurately describes Poilievre.

Then there's the fact that during the freedom tantrums in Canada last year, Pierre Poilievre - gave comfort & support and praised protestors who were part of a foreign-funded, targeted and coordinated attack on critical infrastructure and our democratic institutions.
During the protests - 24 Conservative MPs met with convoy organizers and Trump MAGA operatives. Evidence showed that 44% of the funding for the protests came from the US, and MAGA politicians and the right wing media were in full support.
I don't know about others - but I consider these actions - to be rabid right wing partisanship. And they line up with the actions of other right wing governments steering towards autocracy.

Big difference is Poilievre is much more intelligent than Trudeau. Trudeau had free advertising from the Liberal MSM asking him softball questions like what type of shampoo do you use. At the end of the day, Pierre knows that his policies can’t be too extreme; otherwise, he’ll loose the Center vote. On the other hand, Justin has gone too far to the left.
