    Great review Ian,
    I’ve clocked up 265km on mine in the last week or so, I absolutely love it.
    It’s got much more power than you could ever need, it’s also great on inclines, stairs, off-road, as you said.
    Riding this wheel has fulfilled all the expectations I had from when I first saw an electric unicycle.
    I would recommend it to anyone, and I regularly do. With that, I also recommend buying sufficient armour for safe riding. Armoured vest, helmet, wrist guards and knee pads. That gives you so much confidence when riding too. And with the power of this wheel, it’s pretty much a necessity.
    Thanks again for all the great info and after purchase customer service.

      I wish I had spent 600 more dollars and gotten the MSX instead of the v10. I like the V10 but it’s kind of underwhelming.

    • @neilio666666
      @neilio666666 5 лет назад

      therealestmc85 yeah I hear you. I was afraid of the same thing. My previous wheel was a Ninebot One, which is quite limited once you know what you’re doing. I wanted to make sure my next wheel didn’t leave me wanting more.
      I was actually holding out for the Z10, mostly because it looks so damn good. But after reading some of the negatives, plus the Z10 basically doesn’t lean over when banking around bends etc. I decided to just go for the MSX. Soooo glad I did, I literally can’t leave the thing alone 😂
      I’m finding any excuse to get out and rip forest trails or commute to neighbouring towns etc.
      Just done a 45km trip, flat out all the way, amazing.

      Marko Niksic I haven’t tried the Z10 myself, have watched a shit load of reviews. The MSX is faster, and by the looks of it, better handling too. The high pedals really make a difference when off-road.

      I'm waiting for mine to arrive (I'm a complete newbie to this). After all you guys have basically given it such a glowing review I couldn't resist. I've been waiting a year to see how the technology has changed and a chap from Austin Texas gave the Gotway a glowing review back then. It looks like the company got it right. I don't really want a boom box on a wheel either. I look at the utilitarian POV and want something that will last and not go obsolete quickly. Music and the like is easy to add with a pair of earbuds/headphones/pocket speaker. Most of the time I like quiet and love to enjoy the surroundings. Would welcome others thoughts. Would also like to know which forums to join. Looking forward to sharing stories !!!

    The Kingsong KS18XL is the best wheel in my opinion. Better trolley handle - better looking - better carving & the replacement panels are much cheaper than the panels in the MSX. If you just want speed & range then go for the 100v MSX.

      The handle isn’t that big of a deal once you get used to it. For me the biggest concern when it comes to wheels is comfortability and stability at top speed. I have my high end boards for carving. I use my wheels mainly as a transportation vehicle. The Kingsong 18XL seems like a pretty sweet ride and is fast enough as well.

  • @ItsBinhRepaired
    @ItsBinhRepaired 5 лет назад +2

    I did over 3000km on mine. Love it! Haven't put it through much abuse other than hitting ~32mph every now and then. Great wheel!
    Hopefully they'll eventually get one with the power of the 100v and the range of the 84v wheel all in one package. Sometimes with a little tail wind I don't realize I'm getting near the cutout speed until I hear the beeps. Never wear a helmet that blocks your hearing. For that reason, it's actually more dangerous than not having one at all. I highly recommend the bell super 3r helmet for that reason.

    I have to say, the build quality of my KS18XL is truly impressive. It's taken some truly nasty falls (bouncing waist high half dozen times), and aside from some scratches, no cracks or damage whatsoever. It really is a very well built wheel, and isholding up wonderfully after 800 km of abuse. My only gripes are the terrible BT module and horrible lift sensor (1st batch, I hear that has since been corrected). And the overheating... GW appears to do a much better job at keeping their wheels running cool. But still, a truly impressive wheel. From what I've seen if the Electric Games held in France just recently, at least 80% of all wheels were MSXs or 18XLs. The Top wheels out there, IMHO. The only things that tipped the scale when deciding between an MSX and an 18XL was KS's reputation for build quality, the great mileage and the pedals (am not a fan of GW's angled pedals, and the 18XL's XL pedals are a game-changer!) , but if I were to go back in time, I'd be hard pressed to choose one over the other. Either way, I love the MSX v. 18XL rivalry, it keeps tur manufacturers on edge and striving to improve and innovate (as seen with the 16X and Nikola). Great review, keep up the good work! 😁

    @Mpower31 5 лет назад +2

    Hey Ian, I agree with all your positives and negatives, I'd like to add a couple though. I owned, sold and had ridden my MSX 1500 miles. I was riding a ton in the city and surrounding residential areas. Like 35 to 45 miles a day. So couple things I noticed. I'm 5'5 and constantly getting off and on the wheel would get tiring sometimes because of the pedal height/angle. So at a stop light it was like one leg was straight and the other was scrunched on the pedal and would get uncomfortable after a while. Also braking on the MSX feels sort of loose/weak especially around the lower speeds and can feel sketchy. So I used the handle to pull back on to enhance braking power, not sure if you've ever done that? Other that that again it is a BEAST and awesome and feels super planted and confidence inspiring! Anyway nice review!

      Hey tbh it held up great! Really no issues with durability. I really never dropped it on concrete though or that many times period. I know people that did though and they didn't seem to have any issues what so ever Only thing I'd say is the petals were wearing a little quicker than I like. The rubber was starting to rub off and the grip tape was starting to come off in certain corners a little bit, not major but annoying.

    An advice, Silicone spray is a really bad idea on a wheel, because:
    1. It will make it hard/impossible to repaint (paint don't stick on silicone)
    2. You will not be able to use adhesive tape on it if you for example want to add reflexes, jump cushions or likewise
    3. It will soak up more dust due to the fat surface.
    4. If user decided to remove shin cushions and there is silicone on the body, it will be more slippery = give less control
    I understand you want to make it look good when selling, but a wash with water and soap is much more honest to the buyer. Silicone is more of a dishonest car dealer touch up thing and that's not You ;-)

    I think the MSX is a proper beast. But I definitely think the Tesla is better for road riding. Has more torque with a smaller wheel. Love my Tesla and probably would still have it over a MSX. For off roading it’s hopeless though. Footplates are too low and hit pretty much everything apart from gravel 😂😂.

    what is the expected life time mileage for an ECU? i would like to get one to commute but i would be doing 40km a day. So that would probably 9000km a year! could you expect an ECU to last than long?

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  5 лет назад +1

      It’s hard to say really, batteries would be the point to go first (if the control board held up ok - if you looked after the machine by not going flat out every where). If you had a Monster - 2400wh, after 9000km you might see a 30% loss of range. It does ~60 miles per charge. So it would probably give you 2-3 years of riding.
      I would recommend then replacing the control board yearly (~£150), just for safety.

The MSP is going for around £1800 quid at Speedy Feet. Im not having a dig at your pricing, or trying to poison your well in any way I think you are a top guy and I love what you do, but are thier significant upgrades to the MSP you are stocking as opposed to the MSX still selling from the Netherlands? It's 100v 1230wh or 84v 1600wh

    What is the difference between the 84v and 100v models? Range? Speed? Acceleration? I haven't even gotten my first wheel yet, and I'm already thinking about this for the second, LOL!

      I ride 100v and it's purely for speed.. Hit 66.9 kph, my max speed I have ever hit... I clocked over 2500km already so far... Hitting over 60 kph is like normal thing with MSX 100V but if you are not speed person then get 84V for longer range

      @@sby1076 Wow! That's insane! Hope you have some really sturdy protective gear! I've pretty much decided the V10F will be my first wheel. Just waiting for the right time to order it. Hopefully around this time next week if all goes well. Thanks for the reply!

      The Flying Veteran bro I’ve just put 1800 miles in the last 3 months of having it, it is an awesome wheel but way too slow for my tastes and not enough batterrie given that I ride full speed from beginning to the end. Now I just got the 84v MSX, and It’s a totally different beast. I just love it and it my 2 day with it so far and been hitting 33/34 mph easy like it’s nothing!!!

    i'm looking at a used Gotway MSX 100V 1230wh with 600 miles on it. what's the life expectancy under normal riding? is $1350 a fair price? is the tire worn at 600 miles?
    Thx

      Seems fair (if its in great condition) maybe shoot for $1200-$1250. Tire will do much more than 600 miles. Life of a wheel depends but around 3000+ miles should be no issue if looked after well (some of our customers are still going on at 5000)

      @@Speedyfeetuk Hi, just question with no link to this video, I just bought a v10, what pressure tire did u used when testing one ? Im 80kg and feel good with 2.0 bar, a lot of people seems to enjoy 2.8 bar for same weight, sounds like crazy for me, I tested 2.8 bar and it was so bumpy (jumpy)....

      M@nµ I ride at 40psi. Did you get your V10 from us or elsewhere out of interest?

      @@Speedyfeetuk I m french, I bought it form amazon.fr, on the inmotion official store, payment in 4 times was nice.
      It seems that Im the kind of wheeler that prefer low pressure lol I remember that you are a bit heavier than me, 90kg ish, so for me it should be equivalent to 2.4bar 35psi, maybe 2.5bar. I have test at this pressureit was a lot better, but still a bit to much for my taste. Im just starting I will maybe change my mind, thanks for the answer, nice to you.
