Great video. I put one on my 2013 GS300 with the sound generator attached. Now I have it on my 2019 GS350. IS pipe fits GS car too.

i've been wanting to do something with my 2015 is250 f sport and considered changing the intake at least. unfortunately, i live in socal and it's been hard trying to find CARB compliant intakes. i already have the f sport air filter and was thinking about getting the f sport tube. i know you said sound wise it's quieter, but any improvement with performance or was this mostly for aesthetics? thanks!
It should help performance due to the pipe being better flow instead of baffles and the sound generator causing air turbulence

I just bought the AEM cold air intake for my 2022 is 350. U think the cone filter is louder tho? I read that the stock air box set up makes more power.
Code filter is definitely louder. I use to have a AFe/gReddy setup but like you, I heard airbox makes more power so I went back to this setup back then.

The pipe will fit a IS350C, the airbox cover and filter wouldnt
Hey spec does the car geta warning light for the AVS not connected?
No warning light with the AVS disconnected and removed. So you can go coilovers or anything you wish with no issues

Yes fsport filter is reuseable , they have cleaning kit for it also
As I have a v4 is 200t / and I know the 2nd gen intake won’t fit , I literally just want the box with the f sport sticker can the box fit in my is 200t?
Unfortunately the Fsport airbox lid won't fit the 200t motors. If you look at the two airboxes, they are oriented in different directions
What kind of suspension your car has I see that it does not have the adaptive suspension?
+joseph flores it did have the OEM Lexus AVS Fsport system but I removed it and had Airrex brand Air strut suspension installed in it's place and left the AVS connector hanging
Is getting the box alone fine or is it recommended to get the pipe as well? You didn't get the bottom box?
No bottom box existed for this generation IS. It's okay to get the air box lid only, honestly it's just a cosmetic beauty mod. It does nothing for performance
Hey bro do you need a tune, if you add an intake and exhaust for a 2014 Lexus is350 F sport.
It's always good to do a tune for new modifications but it's not going to hurt if not doing one, just won't be to its full potential
What do you think about the AEM intake is it worth it or is it better to go the setup you did
I have no experience with AEM for Lexus so can't really comment
So, how many horsepowers are going to gain after changing it or just the look?
It would be good for a little bit extra horsepower but don't expect miracles

I purchased all the pieces in the video individually because I wanted the older style pipe with the welded Fsport emblem logo on it. They do sell a full kit with all the pieces with a plain chrome finish pipe without having to buy it by pieces

How is the 2021 a upgrade? It’s the same engine.
I am curious about the kit and modification, I have noticed that the second generation kits come with a new lower air cleaner box that is different from the stock one, in that it has an EXTRA whole (its actually a square whole) cut in the box facing the passenger headlight when installed. This would obviously allow more air and is advertised as cooler air from behind the headlight vs. from the scoop intake that routes the air near the engine. So... my question is , your stock air cleaner lower box doesn't seem to have this opening but I could be wrong from the angle seen. Does it have an extra opening or not? Thanks and Great video.
+Mike BKS the lower airbox on the Fsport intake kit does not get changed on third gen IS unfortunately. So not much sound is generated after this install unlike how it is on the second gen IS. I was considering cutting a hole in mines in the future but that could only be generating sound and losing performance though.

Thanks , I was wondering about the "hole" , you wouldn't loose any performance, in fact more air equals a gain in performance and would imagine sound as was the case with mine. To get a real performance increase you would need to change the A/F mapping but seeing a nominal performance increase at higher speeds/rpm's would be normal-approximately 3.3 HP, which is nothing for the weight of the car. The sound however is worth it, I can get you the dimensions and location to cut the hole if you like.
+Mike BKS I am running a tune already, the tuner stated that fsport intake or stock airbox has best performance gain, I previously had a takeda intake with full cone filter and it made plenty of sound but tuner told me every car he's ran into Dyno, those robbed power so that's is why I went back to fsport intake. I'll take the power rather than sound.

No check engine light will come on with this air intake.
Just make sure to not forget to install and plug in the MAF sensor.

Can you put the second gen fsport performance bottom box on the new fsport top end? I want to do what you did but looking at the previous gens intake box it is so much less restrictive on the bottom half. I just didn’t know if it fits. Thanks! Great vid!
+marc youngsma don't think the two matches up. The bottom might bolt onto the car but you'd need the top cover of box as well. What makes me believe it might bolt on is because a lot of the second gen IS air intake heatshields bolt right onto third gen no problem
specONE I just ordered it I think your right. I have a friend at Lexus and he said he wasn’t sure and their diagrams were horrible. I should have a similar set up to you but I think I’ll be doing the k&n drop in because he told me the fsport filter is mostly just more durable for cleaning
Careful with K&N filter if it is Oil type. Those can screw up MAF sensors really quickly.
specONE I’ve seen people say that but I really feel like it’s if you over oil them. I work at bmw now and the guys at Lexus I asked about it and they said they haven’t ran into problems
specONE hey by any chance do you notice a difference in the upper part of the air box? The stock vs the fsport? I noticed on mine (stock) that there was another filter attached to the upper box as well as the drop in filter. I was just curious if besides the badge on top them deleting that extra net/filter is what makes it the improved box. Thanks for getting back to me! Great vids :D

A heat shield below the tube may help. Because the aluminium has a very high heat/temperature absorption

Is there a sound difference like a cold air intake?
Not much for this one since it removed the plastic sound generator from Fsport model IS
Since the new intake doesn't have a sound generator, do you lose some of the engine sound?
+Bo Han yes you lose sound actually. Because the stock noise generator on the stock plastic pipe is gone. It's pretty quiet

+Bo Han you should if you aren't comfortable, it's good practice. I don't because I'm use to working around the car already. But after install you should undo battery anyway to reset the engine ECU so it can relearn that a new different part is installed compared to stock

I do not know if the airbox is different from GS and IS. You will want to confirm yourself.

Hey SpecOne, have you replaced the HID on the 3rd gen IS before. I just took a look at my 2016 IS300 and it looks like a lot of space to work with. Doesn't seem hard but i can't find any tutorial on it haha.
Some 3rd gen IS headlamps are dual LED projectors and the bulb is not replaceable. I have the LED setup. I actually have Japan Spec headlamps on my car right now
Unfortunately we don't have dual LED for the Canadian version accept for f Sport 3 IS350. I have the F sport 3 IS300 and it only came with the LED HID combo 8-(

justanotherguy9980 intakes do not give much horsepower gain. it's just smoother response. sound didn't not change much. if you want grunt intake sounds best to go with a AFe/Takeda/Greddy intake instead

For 2011 model year, Some of the parts will NOT fit, while some will.
Nothing change for the engine sound. For the IS250 (with the sound generator on the intake pipe) the sound generator is removed so it may sound a little bit quiet. I end up buying an HPS intake pipe only that include the fitting for the sound generator for the IS250 and leaved the F Sport filter cover installed. So, I end up wasting big money just for the F Sport logo on the filter cover and an HPS intake pipe. If you have and IS250, take off the engine cover and you will see some type of device attached to the stock intake pipe, that is the stock engine sound generator. I don’t know if the IS350 also had a soumd generator on the intake pipe. I assume it does not, because that F Sport intake is in reality for the IS350 and not the IS250. It just happen to fit the IS250 too.
Yes the IS350 has the sound generator too. And yes it may get more quiet with the fsport Intake pipe vs stock plastic intake pipe

They do not have it in red color. F Sport theme was always blue accents
i got this put on my 22 is 350 but they never changed the box they said it didnt fit , does that have any effect for the sound etc
yeah the Airbox changed slightly from what i Heard. The Fsport logo'd Lid cover for the Airbox is just cosmetic anyways. If you got the Tube and the Filter on, thats what really matters.
I also have a 22 IS 350, after your experience installing; would you recomend just purchasing the tube and filter?

No, this Fsport intake will only fit the V6 model IS, it will not fit the 4 cylinder turbo motors

The Filter can be clean and reused. No need to replace

Ken Huynh the car engine should breathe better because air filter is less restrictive. That's why I do it

Ken Huynh it will fit all IS250 and IS350, doesn't matter if it is Fsport model or not. There is no difference with the engine in Fsport trim
Have you thought about cutting a hole in the lower air box like the FSport lower air box has?
MrEvltwn I have thought of it but that would only give a grunt sound when stepping on the gas, no performance gain. I've done it on my previous cars

Lexus catalog states it fit 2018 IS300. It doesn't. Catalog error
2018 IS300 RWD is 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo motors, won't fit this. This intake will fit the 2018 IS300 AWD which has the V6 engine. It's confusing now, I know.

Do a cross reference of the stock lid to see if it shares the same part number, then you'll have a better idea if it will fit

The pipe in my video is from a 2IS, i.e. gen 2. The air box between the two generations is different and not interchangeable

No this shouldn't void your warranty. This part is made and sold by Lexus. You can buy this at the Lexus parts department
How does it sound
Quieter than stock
You missed the most important part of the intake. The bottom part that have the extra cut out so it allows more air goes into the intake.
The third generation Lexus IS official intake does not come with a bottom piece that you are describing. Only the official Lexus older IS one has lower box like that design with extra cutout
Do you know how much HP you gained? Did the car sound better with the intake?
+Marshall Chacko not sure how much HP it gained, never Dyno'd it. But it is better response than stock. It is actually quieter than stock with this intake because the sound generator on the factory pipe is gone

Yes it will fit, I installed it so that proves it fits. You can see with your owe eye in the video. I was skeptical at first also but I did my research and took the risk, now you don't have to take that risk.

Still no idea why so many 250 and 350 ppl get these. The airbox is so restricting. Got an AFe Power Takada intake for my 350 and it HOWLS like a V8; the airflow is ridiculous
check with a tuner what they think, I've heard those open air intakes actually robs you power in the powerband. I use to have a Greddy intake before (same as AFe)
Bro I can’t find the true original aluminum pipe at all. I’ve gone through two shipments that claim are oem. Everything checks out fine but the f sport badge welded on the aluminum pipe smh

If you watch the video, I explain it's for an older IS ( years 2006-2013) that has the raised embossed f-sport logo on it. The 2014+ IS F-sport pipe is plain pipe. I specifically went for older pipe for this reason

You should have purchased the lower air box.
That doesn't exist for the third generation IS that I have. That only applies to the 2nd gen IS, and then the top cover I have wouldn't fit on that anyways

@@specONE question is the top enclosure box different than the stock one ? i order this kit for my 08 gs 350 but it doesn't come with any enclosure boxes and i called the dealer and they says Gs model don't come with any enclosure boxes !! any insight
It's just a cosmetic Fsport logo difference, nothing special about the top box cover performance wise

I assume yes since the physical size of the engine between the IS350 and IS250 is the same, but you should try at your discretion
