I don't get how people don't notice the satire in this track and MV. It's basically a dig at the conventional K-pop formulas.
Actually it's a dig at the instragram/influencer cultue
I know that people are extremely divided on OOTD as a title track, but at least the common ground is Dreamcatcher DIGGING EVERYONE'S GRAVES with this MV 😵
I can't say I love that the lyrics are kind of a brag track, since lots of other groups do that theme already, but musically the song slaps. I love the grungy sound and Dami's rap is naaaasty.
@@zibbitybibbitybopI understand what you mean. However, the lyrics are supposed to be braggy because the message they are trying to convey is overconfidence (they are the villans). They think they are better than anyone and everyone no questions asked. There was an article that explains the mean... i think from naver, I may be wrong. But yes Dami's rap was crazy 😄 and I really the songs sound as well!
@@THEDARKLIGHT210That's kind of the question, yeah. I'm reserving judgment until they tell us themselves what the song is really trying to say, because there's usually a deeper meaning and we may not even be able to tell what it is in just this title track alone.

@@zibbitybibbitybop I think?... the mv alludes to the fact that all this confidence is fake, photoshopped and staged. Much of the view is through a screen with filters and other junk. At the end when she lets go of the camera... you just fall flat.

I think you’re right! They make such a point of showing how everything is staged and manipulated that I have to take it as satire. It feels almost like a companion piece to Odd Eye.

This is such a concept flip that it feels more like a risky experiment, but that's literally how Dreamcatcher was made in the first place, so "fans" hating on it are just weird. The song is good, visuals are over the roof, and if this causes a controversy it's only more attention to them.
And if they don't like the outcome of this comeback they have a stable concept and sound they can return to. I think they just decided to try it and see what happens and now they probably got a lot more people curious

Dreamcatcher has not left their concept as the b-sides are still rock. They just switched it up this time. Normally their b-sides are other genres and title track rock, but this time the title track is another genre and b-sides are rock.
it would only cause a controversy with people who haven't been paying attention the last 2-3 weeks. That's why the ARG was set up, not just to tease, but to tell the story from the pov of one of the main characters "ymenehcra99". Of course people are distracted and overwhelmed by the visuals and sounds, but this time the pre-release period was even more crucial for the understanding of the new concept.

@@TranitosaurInsomnia be like: no crazy guitar riff and drum = no rock. Guys, they have been fusing rock with genres every comeback. They experiment a lot. OOTD is not weird lmao, it's fresh. The structure is unsual but not unreconisable. OOTD part is called anti drop, everything is the same. OOTD is still punk rock. The lyric is not cringe and it has a super deep meaning which is not about them bragging and flexing, not your self love song. That's why they started the story line a month ago. You guys should appreciate the difference sound this time, I don't see any "not Dreamcatcher" thing you're talking about.

i really dont get it. Why peoples talk like dreamcatcher has one genre. Cuz they dont. They can do anything, they can do everything. İf peoples wanna a name for their genre, this name is dreamcatcher, and they own this genre. They can do any kind of music, any sound of music perfectly. And with this comeback they didnt give us only a song, there is huge content. Just enjoy with this. Like u said song is great, visuals another level, choreo is hard af. I don't understand 🤔 why people are divided with OOTD being the title track..... it's the same Rock genre in one of its various variants..... heavy metal, punk rock, hard rock, progressive rock, indie rock, grunge, Alternative dance, glam rock, pop rock, cyberpunk, Nu-metal, Nu-rock..... same rock genre.... as we are accustomed to, a bit ❤ progressive

This is actually a very nasty song about narcisism and the emptiness of showbiz. “Beyond your reach”. Everything must be be perfect. Flawless, spotless. Yet at times there are bruises and scars all over them. Bragging about money and cars. “Get the F out of my way”. “Drunk every day”. Every shot is lifted from a typical K-pop video. The video crew is seen all the time but they are just black silhouttes. At the end they are shown surrounded by a circular green screen becoming an artificial stage. Nothing is real in this world. Oh, and of course: OOTD means “outfit of the day”. That’s what everything is reduced to in this world.
Holy hell. I only now noticed: when the video stops after the fight one of the personnel is holding a GUN! In the end someone is holding the camera. They take it away. The cameraman falls to the floor. Now he has no power over them.

This song have an industrial rock vibe like "Closer" from Nin Inch Nails or "Army Of Me" from Bjork (and thats really hardcore from the producers), with deeper synthetizers on hard beats from 90's. People who said this doesn't sounds "Rock" just haven't listen rock enough.
BTW the video shows how fake is the industrie from the "Villain" perspective.

Turns out all this time what Dreamcatcher excels at isn't rock, its actually just crushing everything they do, it just so happens they started with rock, and now its on to the rest. I was not disappointed that the rock tracks can still be found in the b-sides. OOTD could have been a b-side style song but putting it as the title track will undoubtedly help them get more people in to the group. I hope the new arc is just them destroying everything in sight showing everyone else what insomnia have known since the beginning: serve up any concept and DC will nail it every time.
