From his backyard overlooking the Las Vegas skyline, Usher talked with correspondent Tracy Smith about his successful residency, the impending release of his studio album, "Coming Home," and how he's preparing for the performance of a lifetime as the headliner of the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.

The best part about Usher is that he has a humble and beautiful spirit as a human being and as a man. The smile is to die for and his words intellectual and voice mellow and kind. How could you not love a guy like that?

To hear about Usher getting 4 hours of sleep each night, to hearing about his father (U.R.III.) passing away in 2008 from liver disease, to hearing about his grandmom's passing last year & also recently hearing about his son Navyid having Type 1 diabetes breaks my heart. God bless Usher, he's been through alot.

Goodness, give him a clean shave and he almost looks like he did 20 years ago. Nice to hear how he was able to come full circle with his father, this is a key reason Usher is who he is. All men naturally wish to earn the love and approval of their father; for a man to intentionally leave his son bereft of these critical psychological components with which to navigate life is a crime against humanity.

I was the born the same year as Usher, 1978. When he blew up in the 1990s, I was in high school. Usher continued putting out many hit albums and singles since then, evolving and growing along the way. Watching him at the Super Bowl is going to be a treat!
